Chapter 65
Winning Her Heart Back
Chapter 65 Revisiting Old Memories.
Emelie calmly asked, âSo, how do you plan to handle her?â
Jeremy smirked coldly, replying, âThatâs my affair. Itâs got nothing to do with you.â
âWell, if your actions end up causing harm to her and result in criminal implications, then I become implicated, too. That becomes my problem,â Emelle retorted.
âIâm just trying to make things easier for you. If Iâm not mistaken, youâve been stuck with this unpleasant task because Mr. Middleton favors her and is taking her side.
âBasically, her presence is hindering your progress. Hand her over to me, and Iâll take care of it. Youâll have one less competitor to deal with. Makes things easier, doesnât it?â
Jeremy calmly broke down the situation. His tone was seductive, as if there were no downsides in his proposed plan.
Emelie thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement. âYouâre right. Sheâs been a headache for me,
too.â
Jeremy narrowed his eyes. âSo, you agree?â
âYeah, Iâll do it now.â
Emelie took out her phone, dialed a number, and after a short pause, she said, âMs. Mitchell, itâs me. Mr. Ramsey wants me to lure you over.
âHeâs got something daunting planned for you. Weâre at the Sheldon Suites. Can you come over right away?â
Jeremy snatched her phone and glanced at the screen, only to see that she hadnât actually made any calls.
He threw the phone back at her. âYouâre trying to trick me!â
Emelie shot back, âItâs actually you whoâs trying to trick me, Mr. Ramsey. You have a family and clearly had no harmful intentions. So why try to intimidate people for no reason?â
Jeremy was simply trying to let out some frustration after dealing with his siblings.
With things settling down, he didnât feel like causing her any more trouble.
âHand them over,â he said.
Emelie passed him the documents and a pen, and Jeremy signed them without hesitation.
As he gave the contract back to Emelie, something crossed his mind. He looked up at her.
âI heard youâve been considering a job change lately. Are you really planning to leave Cloudex Corporation?â
Emelie replied, âItâs just a normal career move.â
Chapter 65 Revisiting Old Memories
âI find you quite interesting. You might want to give my company a shot. It may not be as big as Cloudex, but thereâs a lot of room for growth.â
Jeremy reached into his pocket and pulled out a business card, offering it to her along with the
documents.
âHereâs my card, with my personal number. Feel free to contact me if youâre interested.â
Emelie accepted it politely. âThank you, Mr. Ramsey.â
Jeremy left the hotel to go home, and Emelie was also getting ready to leave. But as she walked through the hotel lobby, she saw William.
Emelie paused for a moment, unsure of what to do.
William glanced at her indifferently, his lips forming the silent command, âCome here.â
Unable to pretend she hadnât seen him, Emelie reluctantly walked over.
âMr. Middleton, is there something you need?â
William led her directly to a hotel room, and Emelie immediately knew what he needed.
Once inside, William pushed Emelie onto the bed and held her chin, preventing her from avoiding his rough kisses.
Emelie gasped and pushed against his chest with all her might.
She scrambled to find something to defend herself with, but William quickly grabbed her and pressed her against the bed.
There was no way he would give her another chance to use the pepper spray against him.
âMr. Middleton⦠William!â
William raised his head, his gaze darkly fixed on her. âDo you remember what day it is today?â
Emelie was clueless.
She clenched her teeth, remaining composed. âLet go of me. Youâre forcing yourself on me!â
âThree years ago today, you started following me.â
Emelieâs mind momentarily blanked out, leaving her face pale.
As she pieced it together, it hit her slowly. It seemed like todayâ¦
Yes, it was today.
That was why that labor contract that was due in four days happened.
Three years back, just four days after she trailed after him, he nonchalantly remarked, âFrom now on, youâll be by my side, serving as my secretary.â
She protested, pointing out her nonâbusiness background, but he was in a good mood.
âIâll teach you.â
Emelie couldnât help but tremble, feeling like she was experiencing their first time together three years. ago all over again.
Back then, she had been just as nervous, scared, and inexperienced.
âMr. Middleton, you have quite a vivid memory,â she murmured softly.
âItâs hard not to. Iâve never seen you look so vulnerable, Ms. Hoven. It was me who found you in such a sorry state and brought you home,â William said, lifting her legs, his voice subdued and hoarse.
âHow can revisiting old memories be considered forceful?â
Emelie did not reply.
The night was already shaping up to be a rough one.
Outside, a few muffled thunderclaps were heard, followed by the gentle patter of rain.
In the midst of the rainy night, it felt like they were transported back three years ago.
Emelieâs nails dug into Williamâs shoulders. Her breath was uneven, and her voice slightly shaky as she said, âThis is the last time!â
Just four more days, their contract would expire, marking a full three years.
In a way, she would be repaying him the three million dollars from back then.
