CHAPTER 94
Winning Her Heart Back
Chapter 94 Appropriate Measure
Bryan handed her a tissue.
Emelie sighed and took it. âThank you,â wiping away her tears..
Bryan didnât say anything.
Being a few years older than her, he understood the affairs between men and women very well.
Love leads to complications, and emotions are the greatest erosion of willpower.
He always kept his distance from such matters.
âIâve sent a message to Sam, asking him to come and pick you up.â
Emelie initially refused. âItâs not necessary. Itâs late, and itâs not right to bother Mr. Samuel.â
Samuel glanced at her. âYou have to stay somewhere tonight, donât you?â
Emelie was speechless
Indeed.
They were on the ship, not on land. She couldnât just find a room in any hotel by spending some money.
She couldnât spend the night in the same room as Bryan either. Others might not see them as innocent if
they were caught sleeping together.
Just like her and Samuel, in Williamâs eyes, something had already happened.
William took Patricia away, and they might do something tonight as well.
William didnât dislike Patricia. Although Patricia wasnât like Daphne, William wasnât limited to only Daphne.
Of course, whether they slept together or not had nothing to do with Emelie.
She could choose not to go to anyoneâs room and stay on the deck or in one of the banquet halls for the
night.
But even so, there were unknown dangers.
Samuel arrived promptly and exchanged greetings with Bryan.
Bryan nodded. âSam, take Ms. Hoven to rest. Ms. Hoven, donât forget what we agreed on before.â
Emelie nodded at his words,
Samuel then led Emelie away.
After leaving the room and walking a few feet, Samuel draped his coat over Emelieâs shoulders.
âYouâre still not fully recovered from your illness. Donât make it worse.â
Emelie replied, âIâve caused you a lot of trouble tonight, Mr. Swanson.â

âThese are just small troubles. As friends, we should lend a hand to each other when necessary.â
Samuel smiled, adjusted his collar, and led her to third floor.
the
Emelie realized he wasnât taking her to his room when they arrived.
Samuel used his room key to open an empty room and handed the key card to her.
âWhen Mr. Middleton took you away, I thought you might argue tonight.
âI was prepared to come and pick you up, so I asked for another room. I just received the room key when Bryan called me. It seems that I was right.â
Emelie was speechless.
He wasnât leaving her in Bryanâs room or taking her back to his. Instead, he arranged for another room for
her.
He respected her and always maintained propriety, making her feel she deserved to be treated well and not like someone without dignity.
Emelie was moved. âMr. Swanson, thank you.â
âHmm.â
Samuel returned the diamond necklace she dropped in his room. âYour clothes have been sent for dry cleaning. They should be back tomorrow.â
Emelie looked at the valuable diamond necklace and took it. âThank you.â
Samuel smiled wryly, having heard enough thanks from her, and pushed her into the room.
âYouâve had a tiring day. Rest early. Goodnight.â
He closed the door behind her and didnât enter her room. It wasnât appropriate to do so late at night. He only stood outside for a moment before returning to his room.
Emelie was alone inside, and she didnât turn on the light. The layout of the rooms on the ship was similar, so she walked toward the bedroom based on her instincts.
She fell straight onto the bed as her knee hit the edge.
Exhaustion engulfed her instantly.
She stared into the darkness, her gaze fixed on the diamond necklace.
