Chapter 20
The Alpha's Addiction [BxB]
Moon Goddess just remove my nose...
The Wolf coughs out.
He exhaled out a thick smog of nicotine grey smoke from his nostrils and mouth, which Grim loathe because of the after effects of cigarettes to his sense of smell. Al was clearly doing this on purpose for what happened earlier, by the full packet in his hands it seems The Alpha's gonna burn their lungs to the fucking ground and Grim wasn't going to get much sleep either. Just brilliant.
Grim would rather have Al go back to drinking endless booze than smoking, though the hangover in the mornings wasn't any better. The Wolf thought whether his human smoked or drank, it did never solve their own problems.
Grim wasn't any help to him either, because The Wolf was just as lost too.
Until the women, parties, and illegal fights weren't enough to dull the pain.
Then came the drugs, but again, even that got old quickly and Al was numb.
But it seems cigarettes weren't going to be crossed out of The Alpha's system.
Before Cyrus came into the picture. It all just seemed bleak and dark for him.
Als depressive state had affected his grades, and his room soon became a dumpster wasteland. Al hated that no matter how hard he tried to sleep on some nights, he'd still find his pillows soaked with tears in the morning after.
Thinking about her again.
Her smile and laugh.
His dear Selena.
It was a miracle, Al has gone through a couple of months now not drinking himself unconscious or injecting some godforsaken stupid drug Al let other teenagers sneaked in from dealers, Allison did a great job shoving some senses into her frustrating son's head.
Things didn't stop there.
The serious confrontation Al had with his auntie Miranda upon the Head Luna discovering he was responsible for allowing this to happen The Alpha got collared up for weeks, well it was a reasonable punishment, after all...
Northwood could've been shut down.
Had it not been Weiler, who first found The Alpha in time during a serious overdose in his room one night and immediately called for help. That's when his grandmother Anselme got involved, she threatened to strip Al of his title and give it to Shane instead.
He was an irresponsible Alpha.
Yet it was the one thing he couldn't let happen, Shane can't---shouldn't be the Head Alpha so Al got his shit together.
Al didn't want to lose the absolute sheer power of authority, dictating, ordering, ruling others. Only he can become Head Alpha and Al was going make sure Shane never ever becomes the next heir.
Over his fucking dead body.
-------------
Al tapped into Shane, meanwhile the boy was in his own room, admiring his plants. {Shane, what the hell did I say about coming to my room?} Al snarled.
Shane expression went gloomy. {I just wanted to fix things between us, and I know you're not one to approach fir--}
{That still doesn't give you permission to come to my room. I warned you to mind your own business, and stay the fuck AWAY from mine.} The Younger Alpha was dejected. {But...Al. I just wanted to help yo---} Grims loud growl resonates.
Shane wince a bit hearing it.
{Remember. I didn't ASK for your help. You volunteer for it and I'm letting you do it because you want to. Besides that, leave me alone Shane. You can help with everything else.} The Younger Alpha then felt his brother block him out.
The same old treatment.
Shane thought they were growing closer and despite himself, wanting to confront what kind of harassment The Alpha was doing to Cyrus behind him earlier. Shane turned away, because he knew Al would only grow more pissed at him. He isn't ignorant about his older brother's vices. The drugs and one night stands before, but Shane still hoped to Moon Goddess, that someday they'd go back to the way they were; brothers.
His palms felt sweaty.
Eyesight slightly blurred.
Breathing erratic and painful.
Holding his head, Shane looked down then released a tense breath. He then locked himself inside his dormitory bathroom and grips the sinks edges, his knuckles paling from grasping hard.
Shane started weeping.
Nothings changed for him.
And it wasn't even fair.
He didn't deserve it.
Why is it...EVERYTHING I DO! Al just keeps shutting me out of his life!? I-I...only want my big brother back. Shane hit his head with his closed fist, as hot freash tears ran down his cheeks. He slowly craned his head and saw his pathetic weak reflection in the mirror.
No, stop it already. You're not a whimp Shane! Y-You're an ALPHA! Man up!
Wiping the tears away he takes out a small bottle from his jacket's pocket, Shanes face went ashen seeing there's are only three bright purple pills left inside. He held the bottle tightly, this won't last long...Shane needed more.
And I'll get more, yeah. I need to stay strong for this pack, for my brother too.
Shane swallowed one down.
-------------
Days flew by and Cyrus was showing great endurance from their training courses, however Al can't say the same for the other sector ranks, seeing the results. The Alpha clicks his tongue.
"Emmett! Get over here!" The shortest Silver sector rank officer goes to him.
(I salute you my boi, make us proud!)
"What do you call this?" Al shoved the files of the training results to Emmetts chest, he stumbled a bit but caught himself.
Emmett reasons. "Sir, my Silver sector is still adjusting to the new courses---"
"And it's been days already, I asked for an improvement." Al snapped and stepped forward. "I'm not seeing shit."
Emmett being human, held his ground and stated. "With all due respect sir Al we are trying, but your demands aren't something so easy to accomplish fast."
Their conversion caught everyone's attention on the fields, and Chase was collared impressed with the audacity the human boy had to talk back to Al.
A perfect example of clueless human stupidity, but for others; courageous.
"Your sector and the Omegas is slowing us down. They don't have the right to even think about themselves." Al grins as he grabbed Emmetts collar then pushed him to the muddy ground.
Grim smirked, witnessing Emmett get humiliated openly. Services him right.
But someone won't have it.
Cyrus stopped doing plank position and wrapped his hand in a towel, then walked across the field as everyone let out gasps paired with intense staring.
The only Zeta rank passed The Alpha.
Ignoring his blazing orbs on him.
He helped Emmett stand up.
Al frowned and both his clenched fists balled. "What exactly are you doing cadet. Get back to your training. Now."
Cyrus turned to face him. Gazing at Al dead in the eyes. "I don't answer to you."
His voice was final and unwavering. It sent shivering pleasure to Als groin, yet their current situation is serious here.
The entire student body could see the tension between them increase and Al was expected to handle this as a Alpha sector rank officer, that he shouldn't let anyone even Cyrus disrespect him.
That he does and should answer to Al.
People were expecting him to behave a certain way with his high position, Al was stuck between his Rocky and a hard place, what could he have done?
Al dug his own grave, and now he has to sleep in it, buried with his dumb pride. He glared back and voiced out.
"Fine Zeta, you wanna be heroic and rebellious? your training; times three."
--------------
Chase smiles eyeing Emmetts messy uniform, he approaches and whispers. "Next time, use that big brain of yours Emmett. You're lucky to still be alive."
Emmetts respectful attitude fades.
"Why don't you go suck a dick." Chase chuckled then counters. "I would, but I suggest you take a shower first shorty."
"Back off Chase!" Maylin called taking Emmett by the shoulders. "He's not worth it, just go wash yourself, okay. I'll take care of your Silver sector; now go."
And Emmett left.
---------------
Danm look at those biceps and muscle, even in the uniform Fluffy is attractive.
Hours later Cyrus was still on the field he was tired, but didn't want to back out and Al being his "assistant" was beside him. Pretending to be composed, but on the inside Al gleefully thought.
Ha! I'm a genius, I got Cyrus to spend time with me alone and now we'll get to train EXTRA hours together like a scheduled date, just the two of us.
Though Cyrus doesn't seem to enjoy it.
He sighs, usually Al would make any student spend the night outside or have them do toilet cleaning duty for even going against him, but it's Cyrus.
"Alright, that's quite enough for today cadet. Let's head back in for dinner."
Cyrus got up his drenched school shirt clug onto him, he took his phone and typed. "You're an asshole, you know that? You're bias and being unfair to the Silver sector. I hate that most of all."
Al looks at Cyrus; conflicted.
"You don't understand my situation."
He responded. "No, I don't. But you're supposed to be a leader, and it's your DUTY to understand other's situation Al." Cyrus concluded. "Decide what you really are...a leader or dictator."

Author's Note :
Some one sent me this â
That would be terrifying, and it honestly wasn't intended. When I drew that it's supposed to be the texture / movement / gravity of the towel not...anything else. I'm wheezing just imaging it if that's how it seemed for others. XD
Remember guys, Al is sadistic and cruel on normal days he pretty much enjoys others suffering especially coming from the weaker people around him. He is also not in the best of places but he tries to keep it all inside and function even with his shitty unfair attitude.
Also what I meant on last week's A/N, I was referring to the meme, is that Chase is the second lead pairing and Shane is just as handsome as Al. (I didn't mean to get your hopes up and I didn't have the heart to contradict you guys)
I am really unsatisfied with this chapter, because I like to fuss over my work 100x before I post it. (It took me months before posting chapter 01 of this book, because I am made up of anxiety and stress, plus my dyslexia makes me insecure and embarrassed. The rest of me is made up of caffeine with sex jokes)
I have a lot happening on Sunday, a super typhoon will make a land fall on my country. (I live in a high area but news and weather forecast says it's worse than the super typhoon 7 years ago) at the same time a blue moon will show up after 30 years (I gotta take a picture for a special someone) and this is the first All Soul's Day I'm spending without someone dear to me.
I'm preparing for the worst here, stocking up what little food we can get. Medicine would be tricky to get (I have a sibling who needs it) so I've stocked up the necessary, and it's basically survival prep for me. In case we need to evacuate our home because my house stands in a catch basin (look it up) and we have a deep river near us. As if that wasn't enough to fuck us up, idk...this year just screwed us all over immensely.
