Chapter 26
The Alpha's Addiction [BxB]
Cyrus bears his teeth. Stay away from me, I'm only going to hurt all of you...
"Cyrus please, just let Nurse Nick help you. You're still bleeding and need to get that wound cleaned up." Maylin spoke to the guarded injured boy who huddled himself into the corner of the school's clinic, he only frowned to that.
Shaking his head negatively.
He didn't protest against being taken into the building but Cyrus refused to be touched by anyone, Maylin had to explain to the others this and escorted him inside as his left arm bleeds more.
Shane tried his absolute best to be just as reassuring to him, though it didn't work and when Nurse Nick actually attempted to see his arm. Without knowing the black haired boy would react horribly to it, Cyrus pushed him away sending a grown man to meet with the clinic's wall. Nurse Nick was helped up by Rainier and Emmett just looked on shocked at Cyrus's strength.
They all saw how his dim eyes deleted to anything that moved in his vicinity, Cyrus cursed himself for shoving the nurse and knew everyone must think he's a dangerous individual; a demon.
Meanwhile, Chase and Jessie had two different thoughts about the teenager, The Delta was comparing Cyrus to the last Zeta student in his memory and The Omega was contemplating on whether pursuing the new boy's attention after.
Shane doesn't know how to help if Cyrus didn't allow anyone in doing so, he also wanted to find out the reason behind his older brother harming the scholarship student. His forest green orbs noticed the bit of paleness Cyrus was beginning to have in his tanned skin, and that's when everyone heard something crash outside the hallway.
"What the in world was that!?" Nurse Nick questioned, Shane knowing said.
"M-My monstrous older brother."
The Younger Alpha thought. And he's definitely in one of his moods to slaughter.
With the booming kick to the clinic's door at the other side, was a silhouette of The Alpha. And everyone saw those radiant amber iries they fearlessly glowed on.
Al's tall muscular frame was displaying beneath his uniform, strained bulges of his biceps and torso containing his eight pack abs. The Alpha's angular jaw was clenched tightly. Shane's eyes widens seeing micro traces of blood on his brother's snarling lips, who ever did that to Al wasn't going to live long.
Shane's afraid it's gonna be Cyrus.
Al orders coldly. "Leave, except Cyrus."
Shane quickly got between Cyrus and his scary brother hoping to convince Al to not beat up the living shit out of the boy. "Wait, maybe we talk abou---"
The disintegrating scowl Al sent to his little brother warned Shane not push his persuading anymore, the others obeyed his orders and Nurse Nick held Shane's shoulders. "Come along sport."
Despite being the adult, Nurse Nick is only human and wouldn't dream of facing The Alpha head on; nobody did.
The Younger Alpha turned to Cyrus, who was leaning half his weight at the corner glaring at the ground. He and the rest knew Cyrus was dead meat, for Shane, whatever nice things Al said towards Cyrus several nights ago went to hell now. Shane could only imagine, how Al disregarded Cyrus's need of his personal space and the boy being like this punched him square in the face.
This was Al after all.
He took one last glance at Cyrus and Shane's sympathetic expression says it all; he couldn't stop his brother again.
"Sorry man." Shane whispered as the door was slammed shut behind them.
Al roared. {DIDN'T I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!? I SAID LEAVE US! NOT FOR YOU ALL TO JUST STAND OUTSIDE!}
They all flinched and shivered in fear, immediately scurrying away from the school's clinic door like it's on fire, of course Emmett and Nurse Nick didn't hear Al though based on the others reactions they weren't sticking around to find out what would happen to Cyrus.
In the midst of staggering away Nurse Nick whispered back. "The hell, why did I got kicked out of my own clinic?"
-------------
Cyrus could feel his intense gaze from the corner of his eyes, he saw Al stalk over to the medicine cabinet and took out the first aid kit. He hasn't uttered a word to anybody but Al, though the blonde boy appeared unapproachable today and seeing first hand that even his own brother can't stop him. Who could? Was Al mad after all about the punch he gave, and was pretending to be nice to him because Shane was there? His dark eyebrows connected.
Does ...this mean his apology was fake?
No, Al's eyes told me it was real!
But...I don't know him well.
Conflicting thoughts fought inside his head, that distracted Cyrus enough not to pay attention that Al was standing in front of him now. The smaller boy then jumped and wore his defenses back up.
It tore Al to just stand there, when all he wanted was to embrace the scared mate before him, The Alpha wondered.
What exactly happened to Cyrus in the past to make him behave this overly defensive and distant? I can slightly feel his anxiety behind his tough glare and actions because of the mate bond.
Al's intense gaze soften on Cyrus.
"You're going to bleed out if you don't let me do something about your arm." The Alpha sternly explained to Cyrus, Al can't hint too much that he's got a crush on him, he has to act dominant.
"I know you don't like being touched, but I can't exactly allow someone in this school grounds to die on my watch." On the inside, Al was panicked and guilty.
Because he did let this happen.
However, once the mate bond tugged onto The Alpha the amount of stress Cyrus was feeling, he just couldn't go ignoring his wounded Fluffy. Al had to do something and his first decision, was to break through the windows to get to Northwood's clinic faster; a shortcut. (Al just brushed off the cuts he got because he was really worried, next thing we know bitch be jumping buildings just to get to his baby boy haha.)
Cyrus lowered his head; unsure.
What if Al hurts me? Or I hurt him?
We're both done it before; I can't.
He'll never be my friend after.
Stubbornly shaking his head Cyrus's thick charcoal hair flings around, this made The Alpha remember a puppy who's shaking off water once finished playing in the rain. God, Al adores him.
You're too adorable Rocky. And this strategy isn't working out for me. This only left Al to do the unexpected, and throw away his dominant behaviour.
Just for Cyrus.
Fortifying his resolve, Al sqauts down to match up to those deleting onyx pupils. He held Cyrus's stare, feeling the gravity within them, they were pitch black and Al had a complicated time telling apart where the cornea was, it's like Cyrus was hallowed of anything. But, then he recalled the worry in them when Grim bit him, it's like Cyrus...knew.
Knew that Al didn't want it to happen and was powerless in those moments.
The Alpha looks at them---him.
"Please..." He whispered kindly.
"I need you to trust me Cyrus."
When he didn't respond to that, Al brought it upon himself to smile at Cyrus and regrettably lie to his face.
"I won't ever hurt you; I promise." He offered up his pinky finger to the boy.
Titling his head, Cyrus glances back to The Alpha. "It's a pinky promise, you...hook your own pinky finger into mine, and I will...keep my promise for you."
Everything in Al knew it wasn't true, yet he was willing to try and make it a reality. That he's human side wouldn't bring harm or permit anyone else to do anything harmful to his soul mate.
Cyrus on the other hand was scared he'd break Al's pinky, for years he's seen other children do something similar like this with their friends yet Al wasn't he's friend, though he seems ready to be one...if he'll accept his pinky promise.
He observed Cyrus release his left arm from his hold the same one Grim torn his teeth into, and timidly the broken boy inside Cyrus, intertwined their little fingers together. He then felt a foreign emotion, receiving something Cyrus thought he didn't deserve in this world.
Affection.
Not after Nay died with his own heart in the process, all Cyrus knew then was suffering, sadness and self-isolation.
--------------
"Why don't you try closing your eyes, that way while I bandage your arm it won't...surprise or make you nervous when my hands get too close." Al encouraged.
He wanted to say 'scared' but that just might make Cyrus's state more worse and Al was aiming for the opposite, as The Alpha saw him slowly shut his eyelids. His amber orbs fell to those plump lips with the stretched mole.
One quick peck---
A faint growling resounded inside Al.
The Alpha bit his bottom lip; irritated that Grim was interfering now of all times and Al wasn't finished with him.
Though The Wolf had a point, Al can't risk kissing Cyrus like this. The boy was only starting to put in trust towards The Alpha, he should learn to wait, which Al dreaded the most. Then he remembered.
The Alpha shouldn't continue.
He couldn't protect Cyrus.
Al began to work instead.
