Closing the door behind him Al locks it just in the nick of time, seeing how his fingernails extended while he got flashbacks of disturbing memories of Selena's exposed ribcage. Her laying motionless naked carcass on the dirty ground. Eyes unblinking and staring directly at The Alpha as Rogues gather around her like vultures, Al bonded to silver restraints preventing him to shift.
He quickly felt the need to vomit, but the torture didn't stop there. It always never stops hurting Al remembering it.
Whenever he'd try to get to Selena the Zeta of the High Rank Rogues, will order others to fill up his IV a deadly generous amount of Wolfsbane that's attached to Al's body. Drugging him enough yet keeping The Alpha alive, just so he can witness his soul mate be shamelessly devoured by Rogues. Even in death, they raped her corpse in many horrid methods right in front of him. Al screamed, struggled and died every god forsaken second for several weeks.
Again and again...
And again...
Until, Al just...wanted to die too.
He only escaped then because Al's mind broke...and Grim took complete control over them. The same day Grim escaped from confinement, the pack of High Rank Rogues were all massacred into a mass of organs and blood, The Alpha ate it all eagerly like a madman.
He didn't care anymore.
Granting The Wolf full accessibility to their entire body, mind and dead soul.
Only Grim survived the massacre. He was at his prime deadliest, with Selena gone forever Al and Grim had nothing to lose. Filled to the brim with anger.
But unfortunately, the damned Zeta who acted as the leader of those High Rank Rogues escaped. Though Al will always remember, those twisted cold pale cyan eyes and that haunting grin.
NO MORE! The Alpha tugs at his hair.
Al shot his eyes and saw strikes of his blonde hair began to dye a ghostly ill white color, his amber eyes flickering like defective lights into golden ones he snarls at his reflection; seeing Grim.
You were just as intimidated as I was back there, Al. Don't make up some bullshit that Cyrus doesn't scare you.
He was breathing so hard that steam grew visible onto the mirror, and Al knows Grim is trying to take control.
It's only normal he'd reacted like that, after the things YOU made me do to Cyrus, of course he would be cautious!
Grim forces the side of Al's lips into a sickly smirk, eyeing their reflection.
You only stopped me once from taking over you completely. I wonder, if you can seriously do it again; probably not.
The Alpha was going to smash the mirror into a web of cracked pieces, but a soft knock at the bathroom door cuts in. Al's right knuckle halted right before he could hurt himself, and the smell of Cyrus's scent made him take a deep breath and pull himself together.
"Yeah?" Al called trying to sound sane. There was no reply, instead a paper slid in from the bottom door frame.
He picked it up, and it instantly made Al chuckle at the cute drawing. It was a sketch of Cyrus eating breakfast and the note above it said. "I'm leaving for breakfast, don't forget to lock up the balcony or else the cat might return."
Cyrus...cares about me?
The Alpha didn't notice it, because he was too occupied smiling at the paper.
But Grim did...he notices everything. How the white strikes of Al's hair had turned back to shades of blonde, Grim observed Al's calm heart rates and the way his claws slowly shortened back.
Grim decides to go sleep for awhile at the back of Al's head, deep in thought.
THIS is how dangerous Cyrus can get. You might not see it now, Al. But when something happens to him, you'll go insane again. And I'm afraid you can't control me like before, because...shit,I'm also losing control over myself too.
An interesting thought crossed Grim.
Can Cyrus actually save us both from the curse? But if not, which of us dies?
-----------------------------
"That's great, no no take your time. Al and I got everything under control here. Yes auntie Miranda, I'm alright. " Shane's voice was smiling but his lips were pressed tight; he's paranoid.
The Younger Alpha could hear winds and the announcements for flights in Italian language, meaning Miranda has safely arrived in Italy, where both they're parents are staying attending the event; Worldwide Organisations Werewolf Summit. a.k.a W.O.W.S.
Ever since Al and Shane's father took over as Head Alpha of their pack, he has wanted to stop anymore largely scaled wars from happening again.
Given the last war costed many lives, then there was the fact...that the one who started the last Blood Moon War was a Nightwalker family member.
They're grandfather; Alexander.
Walter had to somehow fix the damages Alexander left behind, which was impossible. Because he committed genocide to the Alpha heirs of Werewolf Alpha Royalty, belonging to the Blood Moon pack. Walter could only do so much, whilst diplomacy can't bring back lives and loved ones.
Walter was doing an excellent job in making peace, and helping orphaned Strays like his older sister Miranda. But It isn't enough to completely erase the hatred of other packs and Alphas.
Alexander's thirst for power, lead to the remaining living members of his family to be both feared and loathed.
Many, try as they desire. Attempted to assassinate the Nightwalker family members over the years. Especially the younger and future Alpha heirs; Weiler, Al and Shane. Even during their childhood, all three experienced being taken kidnapped at some point.
Miranda and Walter swore that they won't easily declare pack wars, unless necessary though it was a last resort.
Walter and his wife Allison, even took over as CEOs of Anselme's company that employed werewolves. Walter and Allison were so busy in making a better world for other werewolves, repairing damages and aiding weaker branch packs that they both expected their kids to shape up being Al and Shane are born Alphas. Destined to become leaders.
Correction; Al is ready, Shane isn't.
"Remember, Ernie is there to help. If it's too much go to him." Shane pokes his inner cheek using his tongue. "I will, want me to pass a message to Weiler?" The line was momentarily quiet, Shane knew his cousin would at least listen to him, finally she replied.
"Don't overdo anything, and rest." He licks his front teeth anxiously. "Okay, I'm just glad he's awake. I feel bad not being able to go visit Weiler myself."
Miranda responded. "Me too, well call me if you need anything; I mean it."
"Of course. Take care auntie M."
The second the line died Shane pulls out from his pocket his medication bottle and quickly gobbled a pill. He hadn't noticed the time he last drank one, and that was really careless of him. He's been so busy making sure that no Rogues or any intruders break into Northwood. Weiler was probably disappointed with the Rogue drill last time, that's why Shane has been day in and day out patrolling around the campus. Keeping everyone protected.
That's what reliable Alphas do. Shane wasn't about to disappoint his older cousin and auntie while they're not here. He would make both his parents proud by also helping Al take some of the hectic Alpha work off his boobs.
He'd prove himself capable.
Shane breathed out feeling the vein roots on his forehead easing back to normal, and his sharp fingernails were gradually becoming less pointed too. He looked up at the wall with relief, his head stopped throbbing manically everything's going to be fine, Weiler will come back. He's not going to be consumed by the family curse, Weiler is recovering and soon, their auntie Miranda will return from Italy after checking on their father's conditions.
But at the back of his brilliant mind, The Younger Alpha knew he shouldn't be careless with his medication pills.
That was a close one. Shane thought.
He leaned back in his seat, turned his forest green eyes back to the security cameras and played again, the footage of Grim biting hard Cyrus's left arm.
Shane is both horrified and really upset about what this new Zeta student had experienced. He should have been there to stop his brother, Cyrus didn't deserve it. He still can't understand why Al would let Grim attack Cyrus like that, the boy hasn't done anything to The Alpha. Or at least that's what Shane knows, was it because...Cyrus is a Zeta?
Just like Selena.
Zetas are Pack Warriors.
So was Al intimidated by Cyrus?
Shane tapped his chin thinking.
Last I remembered, the only things that actually scare my older brother is Grandma's bikini photo albums and Momma's version of eggplant salad. Cats, also Selena on her periods then.
Knowing Al and Grim's vile psychotic ways, Shane assumes that his brother really did feel threatened. In an Alpha encountering someone who is likely just as strong and intense as Cyrus.
The guy is definitely extraordinarily.
The Younger Alpha heard from the teaching staff and students that Cyrus doesn't talk at all in classes. Though he isn't a disabled mute because Jessie was there when he told Al off, in front of everyone. Which made Cyrus even more strongly fearsome in the eyes of every werewolf students including him.
Yet Cyrus doesn't seem to be that bad, Shane has been monitoring him. He was always on time for classes, always did good in schoolwork and did well in training, too. Before his arm was bitten by Grim, Shane even saw Cyrus eat with Maylin and Emmett recently. There's also no evidence he leaves the dormitory buildings after curfew too.
In other words, he seems innocent.
Despite Shane's suspicions on Cyrus before, the mysterious new boy doesn't fit the bill of the Rogue Killer that's been trying to frame Al. Now, that leaves Shane with the frustrating question.
How?
How in the world did the Rogue Killer managed to get inside within their pack territory, and near Northwood's school grounds. Then...successfully killed a pregnant Rogue werewolf without being detected. The body was only a few days old as Weiler informed him.
Even the World Werewolf Council is keeping they're enter family members and their mates under a watch list. The ongoing cases, of the recent Rogue murders weren't helping either. But if the World Werewolf Council can't find proof it was Al, they can't warrant an arrest, being he hasn't left their territory in the last months. Though the last Rogue Killer's victim changes everything for The Alpha.
An icy shiver crawled up to Shane.
Unless the Rogue Killer is just hiding in the school and is waiting for their next target. Or worse yet, what if Al had accidentally lost his control of Grim.
Either of the one could be true.
This made Shane sweat more because he now knew, he couldn't trust this possible theory to anyone. Not even to his own older brother, who knows, if Shane was wrong or regretfully right.
The Younger Alpha hears footsteps outside the hallway, He quickly goes to change all the cameras displayed footages. Rainier enters into the security command room. He gives Shane a polite salute. "Aye. Morning."
He whirled his chair around smiling at Rainier. "Good morning, I checked footages last night nothing unusual."
"Ah thank god, now I don't have to check it twice." The Beta sat down on another chair and placed his coffee at a table, with the sandwich and paper.
Shane carefully picked at his words.
Check it twice? So Rainier is going to look at it again for himself? He doesn't trust that I'm telling him the truth huh.
The Beta gave him a casual glance.
"Have you eaten breakfast? They're serving blueberry pancakes today. You better grab some before my little sister takes a dozen onto her plate." Rainier snickers, replaying the last hours of the school's surveillance on.
Shane manages to force a smile back.
Even a BETA thinks I'm incapable of checking security measures? Is THIS how inferior everybody thinks of me? Just because...I'm nothing like him; Al.
Shane withdrew his shady thoughts.
No, don't think like that. Rainier is just being helpful with the pack security. It doesn't mean, he thinks I'm unreliable.
"It's alright, I'm not really hungry for pancakes anyways." Shane got up and decides to leave, before Rainier makes a comment about how slightly thin he looked, although anyone will pin it to Shane being a workaholic and won't think of anything else. "Oh by the way Rainier, the camera at the gymnasium needs to be replaced; it's getting old."
"Noted, I'll go to the storage room to find a replacement right away." After Shane left, The Beta now paid closer attention to everything he saw on the screens. He then sees Shane break for a run heading to the school's gates.
--------------------------
Both of Chase's twin older brothers were standing outside, Izon and Tate saw Shane and saluted to him. "Sir."
The Younger Alpha nodded. "Yes? Is there news from the borderlands?"
The Twin Gammas exchanged looks, whatever they were about to say isn't good news. "We should be reporting this to Al." Izon reluctantly said and Tate agreed. "But Weiler trusts you'll relay it anyway, we didn't find signs of anyone entering the territory, sir."
"What we did find is what's bad." Izon pulls out his phone and showed Shane a decaying dismembered head of an infant covered in maggots. "Oh lord."
The forehead was slashed, forming an unsettling message; 'Shhh.' worse of it is that it resembles Al's handwriting.
Moon goddess, w-what is this...
He averted his gaze and felt bile play with his insides, Tate explained. "The werewolf authorities haven't been notified about our findings, yet. Our brother Lucas wanted us to inform you and Al first, since Head Luna is away. We're to report it to Head Luna before letting anybody else see it."
Izon added. "We're certain that this will match in DNA to the pregnant Rogue found with her half eaten baby."
Shane ignored the unpleasant feeling so he can think straight. "Good work, I just talked to my auntie and Weiler is awake." The Twin Gammas beamed.
"Really!?" They said in unison.
"What are you bozos doing here?" He looks over his shoulder and sees The Delta and the Silver officer. "Officer Shane help! he keeps following me!"
Emmett goes to Shane's side and The Twin Gammas went 'Awww' seeing Emmett, they reached to pinch his cheeks. "Well, aren't you adorable."
"Huh!?" Emmett was then invaded by Chase's older twin brothers. "Um...?"
"He's really squishy, so cute!" Izon glances at Tate and he nodded, as if judging Emmett's cheeks. Tate replies. "Yes, very soft! Good for the ladies."
Emmett told himself. I'm gay, but you people don't need to know that detail.
"Pourquoi suis-je lié à vous idiots."
(Why am I related to you idiots.)
Shane calmly clears his throat."Thank you, Colemans, you're dismissed. That includes you too, Emmett." Shane tapped into mind link. {We're talking serious werewolf business here, Chase.}
The Younger Alpha smiles. "I heard they're serving blueberry pancakes, why don't we all go have breakfast." (*grins* lol, Shane would rather have a kiddie meal instead.)
