Chapter 37
The Alpha's Addiction [BxB]
[Warning : Drugging references]
"Try to pull shit like that again on an Omega, I'll order Miranda to send you back to the pack house and have you home schooled by your mother." The idea made Al's eye twitch, apparently word got to Anselme that he sent The Omega crying. Did Al feel horrible?
As if, okay maybe a tiny amount.
She was best friends with Selena and growing up together. Al was always there bullying Jessie for even trying to get physically stronger, she's an Omega, but his teasing torments didn't stop her until Jessie improved her combat skills.
Now The Omega was trying to get Al's attention in a more romantical and sexual way, it's just a no from him. He always thought of Jessie as a...tomboy.
The type you'd bicker with and fight over something stupid. Not his lover.
Cyrus was the only person Al can see being in a romantic relationship with.
Besides his baby boy, The Alpha isn't interested falling in love with Jessie.
Al wanted to tell his grandmother that he found a second soul mate, and she should stop setting Jessie up to be his substitute mate. But telling Anselme, she will make Cyrus undergo weeks of heavy werewolf tests to prove himself worthy as his mate. Hell, she didn't make anything easy for Selena and her wolf Aurora. Being she was a Zeta.
However Cyrus behaves like a human.
The Alpha thinks Cyrus might not be aware of werewolves existence, and putting him through programmed tests made for werewolves can't be good for his already traumatised head. He loves Anselme, yet Al won't allow his sadistic grandma to scar Cyrus further. As for Jessie? Al will just keep rejecting her dumb advances, until she grows tired.
Or Grim breaks her neck.
"Meanwhile, I suggest you don't leave our territory or Northwood. Behave, Al. Stay put and train everyone for this year's tournament." Anselme sips her vodka glass, and it's not even ten in the morning. "I already placed my millions bet on us winning. Don't lose. I also expect you to apologise to Jessie by taking her somewhere---lavishing."
Al cringed. Moon goddess, please no.
"Grannie that's kinda extreme." Shane says. "Oh hush Choco, it's just money."
The Younger Alpha thought. I...was actually referring to Al apologising, it would take an APOCALYPSE for him to admit he's wrong, let alone apologize.
Shane smiles. "Anyway, will Weiler be coming back here soon?" Al growled at the mention of their cousin's name. He was still mad about Weiler trying to get closer towards Cyrus, because he never shows interest to anybody.
They were the biggest Alpha rivals in everything growing up, since they all were raised by Anselme as children. While their parents attended to aiding werewolves from the post war period.
"Weiler is still under observations, I'll let you know when he's discharged. Rest assured, he will be alright and join in time for the tournament." She narrows her old amber pupils at Al.
"Don't disappoint me, Marshmallow. I expect results, and Shane." Anselme smiled, squinting at her phone. "Ever considered using tinder? I heard you can find your match there." Honestly, Shane hasn't even thought about that.
"Uh Grannie...it's not always accurate and I believe their system matching is unrealistic." Anselme turned to him.
"Really? Well, I see that for myself."
"Wait---!"
The screen goes black, before either of the two Alphas could convince their grandmother not to include in her bio that she's a 181 year old widowed werewolf. The Alpha steals the laptop and hurls it across the meeting room.
Ernie takes cover as the computer is broken into smithereens. "Like in hell I'd take Jessie out!" Shane was left too speechless, because that laptop had all his Alpha paper work and homework.
Al's irises were golden and flaring hot.
Then he left, didn't even think about turning back to see his little brother staring blankly at the shattered item.
"Shane..." Ernie approches him from behind. "I'll call in someone to fix it."
Are you blind, there IS no way of fixing this. It's garbage now. Shane took in a breath, shocked at the way he thinks.
There was a string of pain he felt.
He held the back of his head speaking.
"It's fine, I...I'll repair it myself. Al had probably woken up in a bad mood."
"But that wasn't right of him to do."
Shane sighs. "I know, but he's broken. Ernie I cant take it against Al, if he...regrets saving me instead of Selena. He was forced to pick only one of us, and I...wasn't strong enough to even help myself, that's why I can't hate Al."
He picks up whatever remaining parts there was and said sadly. "After all, Al and Grim loved her so much." Shane nods to him. "I'll be fine, Ernie. I know you're busy with work and I need to put this thing back together."
The Vice Beta agreed. "If you say so, but I'm here okay." He wanted to stay and help Shane yet the boy was right.
"Thank you, for everything sir."
Now all alone, The Younger Alpha sat back in his chair and rubs his head. He notices his vision is blurring and wipes his teary eyes using his sleeves.
Shane saw how his hands felt weird.
I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm okay, I'm...just hungry. Yes, I haven't eaten properly.
------------------------
I can't believe she actually expects me to DATE my ex-girlfriend's best friend.
The Alpha marches through campus and orders Chase around to train all the other sectors, then he's reminded by Ernie about the fucking mountains of Alpha paperworks waiting for him in his office. "God, work never ends."
At least I'll have something useful to distract me. Cyrus won't want me next to him in his classes, thanks to Grim. I just wanna cuddle my Rocky, but can't.
He snarls at anyone while walking to his office, opening the door Al groans seeing just how much work there is.
Not noticing the picture frame of him from two years ago; smiling with her.
------------------------
"Hey, are you alright?" Maylin asked while they were in W. Historic 101, he wasn't alright. Cyrus kept glancing at his surroundings and towards Ernie.
I should report on what Al had done this morning, that was sexual assault. I should also request to be transferred with a different roommate, he's crazy.
"Cyrus? What's wrong?" This time he looked at her and his eyes were raging darker than usual. "You're glaring."
Realization sinks in, and Cyrus counts to ten calming himself successfully. He wrote; "I'm having trouble deciding on something. It's rather...personal."
Personal as in Al tried to fuck me. Why I'm even finding it difficult to report in the dickhead? is even MORE annoying. I should have really done so ages ago.
"Okayyy, well if it helps. I think you're a smart guy and will decide on what's right. I may not have known you long but..." Maylin gave Cyrus her friendly smile. "I can tell you have such a good heart and an even braver personality."
Decide on what's right?
Cyrus looks down.
What is right?
Images of The Alpha began running in his head, Cyrus then imagined what life was like for Al, before he came. He must've always been drunk to help his depression and mood swings, there is no doubt the blonde boy had sex with the majority of female students here.
Girls would be more than happy to willing go with The Alpha, whether as his temporary fling or one night stand.
Cyrus couldn't also ignore the random pills he'd found while cleaning up, he thought it was Al's doctor prescribed medicine at first. Similar to his own prescribed sleeping pills for his PTSD.
But they weren't.
He researched it then confirmed that it was aphrodisiac and party drugs. If Cyrus wasn't careful, Al during his bipolar episode could have slipped in those aphrodisiac drugs inside the honey cake Al offered him and then... Cyrus should have known better, than to lower his guard at someone like Al.
"I'm sorry! Cyrus. I didn't---dammit, I wasn't, shit. Shit! I didn't mean to do any of that, I---Ugh!" Al sounded very heartbroken, apologising in a hurry.
Cyrus hides his face inside his book.
Al even HUGGED me. And I bit him! If I report him now, he can easily turn the blame back on me! Fuck! I could lose my scholarship because of this or get expelled! He is technically in charge. But...Al had the chance to do it before and he DIDN'T. Why!? So he can use something against me!? I'll owe him for staying quite about this!? Al said he's sorry, and didn't mean to do any of it. I...should I just forgive him for attempting sexual assault like that? No, even I'm not THAT forgiving. It isn't even the first time he's done this shit. Yet, if Al really didn't mean to hurt or violate me. Argh! I don't know...what to think anymore!
"Mr. Cyrus are you feeling alright?"
He bolts upwards and Ernie was right there looking at him, Cyrus glances at Maylin. The Gamma murmurs. "Dude, he was calling your name five times."
I can't stand this situation, I have to talk with someone about this. Denise would listen to me. Cyrus thought.
"Restroom." Everyone flinched, then ducked their gazes away when Cyrus stood up but Maylin quickly gave him a hallway pass before he storms off.
Maylin turns to Ernie. "Sorry Mr. Rye guess breakfast didn't sit well with his stomach." He nodded. "Alright then..."
Cyrus goes inside a stall and takes out his phone, checking his contacts he was going to call Denise. Before Cyrus pressed for the call button the doors to the restroom creeks open. "It's true, I heard they found a dead body near the school's district." A boy rambles.
Dead body? What the fuck.
"I saw two of those three detectives eating with officers Chase, Emmett and Shane earlier." Cyrus listened in.
"I remember them." Another boy said.
"A friend told me, they reported to the principal it was an wild animal attack that killed the woman. And what was Mrs. Harrison thinking? leaving the school and with officer Al in charge? She practically left us all to die, haha."
Animal attack...wait does that mean.
Cyrus's memories brings back to the day he got bitten by the golden wolf.
They don't attack people for no reason, Northwood and a nearby small town is located near the woods. The wolf that bit me might have been territorial but knew how to take orders, it had a Red dog tag on it's neck, too. Meaning it's not a wild one but a domesticated dog.
(Yeah, except Grim is anything but)
The dog hair he found at their room comes to mind, then Cyrus frowned.
Al shouldn't try to turn that wolf into his personal pet, animals aren't born to be kept in a corner. The wolf that sometimes visited my shed back at the orphanage didn't like being sheltered, Cyan always preferred to play with me outside. I wonder if he's doing alright.
"Uh-huh, that asshole is out to get us Silver ranks. I don't know how can officer Emmett or anyone put up with Al's shitty attitude." Cyrus frowned at that, but knew these boys had a point.
They just don't know Al well enough.
"So...uh, wanna make out later?"
The other boy laughs. "Later, we still have training to do at the gymnasium."
Too much info, I heard nothing.
"Okay bae, I'll be patient." The door makes another creek, they both left.
He pressed the phone to his ear.
She picks up at the third ring. "Hello?" Cyrus doesn't answer but he hummed.
"Cyrus? Ah---dear! how are you, How's school? and are you making friends?"
"Yes." I'm also making enemies with my bipolar psychotic roommate here.
"Wonderful, good good. I knew you'd fit in." Her voice wavered a little tired from working a lot. "I'm so glad you're doing well, I got your message about the sleeping pills dosage, Cyrus. Hope it helps with your insomnia and PTSD nightmares. I'll have them delivered."
"Thanks." I really should speak up.
"Mrs. Harrison told me that you're a Zeta officer, I'm really proud of you."
Can you also tell Mrs. Harrison I bit one of her nephews? Because Al was feeling me up. And I'm not gay for him.
It was true, the black haired boy had zero attractions towards guys or girls. Even though some ladies confessed to having a crush on Cyrus before, him being cynical and cold ruined chances of getting into a relationship. With Al, there was that...strange dream Cyrus had; Where Al was comforting him.
Affectionately.
"Cyrus, you don't have to be alone anymore, I will always be here."
"Listen---" A bunch of children crying in the background is heard. "I gotta go dear, but I'll attend your school event. The head principal herself invited me."
He hummed. "Bye." Then hung up.
So much for telling Denise any of this disaster, how can I possibly tell her what happened. No, I'm taking action.
Getting up Cyrus made a decision that he wasn't going to regret, he's going to ask Ernie to be transferred to a new room. It's the only way Cyrus saw to keep himself safe from his roommate.
"I believed your pinky promise." Why the heck did I say that? And why did I even believed he'd keep it. Cyrus thinks.
Knock knock.
"Cyrus? It's me, Emmett. You okay? Maylin told me you'd be here and she was worried about you. Okay, me too."
He opened the stall and went outside with Emmett, the good thing is that Al is not following him in all his classes.
Maylin smiled, handing him his stuff while they walked to their next class.
"I got you notes from Mr. Rye's class."
One look at the handwriting on the notebooks Cyrus could tell, that this wasn't Maylin's handy work. But Al's.
You're not fooling anyone.
Yet he takes it anyway.
And Maylin smiles.
{He took the bait, I repeat. He took the bait!} The Alpha was holding back on cussing The Gamma. {Keep it up and inform me if Cyrus is acting strange.}
Al cuts her off, before Maylin can say something about their wedding and her being a godmother. He wasn't half way finished with work yet Al pull out a cigarette and commands Rainier to help Chase with training every sector.
------------------------
Weiler growled. "Move, Beta Lucas."
"Don't you "Beta Lucas" me. After all this time I think I deserve an answer."
The Older Alpha's pupils went jaded.
Lucas clenched both his fists.
"It's because I'm a Stray, isn't it? Why you don't trust me knowing about the curse...and what it does your body."
Weiler glanced away.
"We're only allowed to tell it to our mates." He adds. "Beta and Delta too."
Lucas let's out a bitter laugh. "I knew it, you never trusted me from the start."
He picks up his coat and heads for the door, but Lucas gets pinned firmly by Weiler. "The Nightwalker---my family calls this centuries hereditary curse..."
Leaning down, Weiler swallows his lifelong fear. "The Alpha's Addiction."
