Chapter 40

The Alpha's Addiction [BxB]

[Warning : Self-harm and a character telling another character to go kill themselves.]

Huh, what...I am doing here? Shane looks down at his hands on the sinks running cold water and he's confused.

He's inside his room, not his office.

The Younger Alpha turns it off and he goes to wipe his hands that throbs in pain for some reason. I was fixing my laptop in my own office, then I went to go get something to eat...when did I get here exactly? Shane rubs his temple.

Ouch, my brain feels like it's been put inside a blender, where's my medicine?

Just as he takes one pill, The Younger Alpha gets a disturbing call from via mind link; it's Maylin. {Shane! We have a situation; it's Al! He's beating up the Silver ranks and some of the others are joining in to gang up at your brother. We need you here at the gymnasium NOW! Hurry! Oh moons!}

Shane's dark forest green eyes widen, booking it to get across their campus.

----------------------

While somewhere else.

"I wanna see blood, sweat and fucking tears when we're finished training! Or I'm gonna make you all swim laps on the lake, understand!?" Chase shouts over the heads of his sector. "Yes sir!"

Rainier simply smiles. "Ready cadets? Let's make them swim for their lives."

They all spar for combat one on one with Rainier's sector, The Delta was something else when it's time to be serious. Because, as what most people don't know, Chase worked hard for his position as third in command. He and Rainier were sent outside to the lakeside to train their sectors, while Maylin and Jessie's sector were later scheduled in the afternoon. Emmett's sector was the last to be trained in the gymnasium, being they were humans and can't be alongside werewolves.

The two officers watch everyone from a small platform, taking notes on how good or bad they need to improve in.

Chase scoots closer to The Beta "Hey, uh...sorry I was careless this morning you saved me from exposing myself to Emmett." He fiddles with his fingers.

Rainier doesn't break his blue-grey eyes from the werewolf students. "It was nothing, just be more careful." Chase breathes out. "Also, Rainier. I'm sorry about Dagger being such an asshole. I know, what he said really upset you."

"Oh?" Was all The Betas response.

Chase now turned to him. "I'm putting himself out here for ya, and all I get is an 'Oh'." The Delta was pouting like a child denied of getting his toys back.

Rainier chuckles. "Aye sorry, I wasn't expecting an apology, but thank you."

Chase elbows him lightly then frowns.

"It's because you've been talking less and less to me lately, and when we're together, you're hardly...friendly. I-I thought you were starting to hate me and didn't want to be my friend too."

The Beta shifts his attention on Chase. "Chastain, what? Yes I was upset, but I won't consider not being your friend anymore because of that. I just had a lot of...duties on my plate recently, it leaves me so stressed and drained." Rainier groans, realizing how his cold actions might have affected his friend.

"I'm sorry too, for acting distant and indifferent. It just still hurts after all, remembering how I rejected Louise." Rainier goes to ruffle Chase's scarlet hair he does to annoy him sometimes.

The Beta smiled warmly at The Delta.

"I'll always be your ami, dummy."

"Hey! Quit it!" Chase moves away but is smiling wide now that he's apologised to Rainier. "We're supposed to be Beta and Delta officers here! No goofing off!" (Chase, my little perverted brat. I'm so proud of you! Finally got development)

"I can still tutor you, I know you need to pass Mr. Rye's class and other classes."

"About that." His smile switches into a smirk and Rainier knows him too well enough. "I got Emmett to help me out, so I'll be going over to his dorm tonight."

"Chase, I've seen the way you look at him." Rainier crossed his strong arms. "Are you tailing after a human now? I don't think that's a smart idea, Chase. If Emmett was a werewolf like us he'd understand half of your behaviour."

"I'm not gonna shift in front of him."

Rainier shakes his head. "Humans are given Silver dog tags in this school for these reasons Chase. That us werewolf students can't harm them, and I don't want you hurt getting close to silver."

"I actually kinda like him...more than just wanting a bang." The Delta's deep chesnut brown pupils became purple.

"Remember how he spoke up against Al and got his cute ass handed to him? Emmett still did it. Despite the odds."

"You sure he isn't your mate?"

The Delta sighed. "If he was, Dagger should have sniffed his scent for me though all I smell is rosemary on him."

Hail declared. We know for a fact you grope Emmett during our last meeting.

What? He seemed to like it.

Fool, it was a trick question. Now you just confirmed our previous suspicion.

Dagger's mouth drops open to that.

Rainier places a hand at his shoulder. "If you really like him just be yourself, without being too much of a pervert. Although, I don't know if he likes guys I could ask Maylin for information."

Chase snorts. "That's gonna cost you a leg from her, and I only have one left." (Chase has an artificial right leg, he's an amputee)

Suddenly they hear The Gamma from both their mind link sounding urgent.

{Rainier! Chase! Al is out of control we need you to stop him, we're at the gym and Shane is on his way, hurry! He's beating up most of the Silver ranks!}

Merde! Emmett! The Delta speeds off. (French; merde; shit. ami; friend, they are super platonic I love them ♡♡♡)

---------------------------

Before the fight.

Al sat in his new office, leaning back into the leather black swerving chair, he closed his eyelids. It was seriously weird, him having access to this place.

It's been weeks now since Al's auntie Miranda left the school to head out of the country, specifically to deal with pack responsibilities she and his father was keeping them away from. As usual.

It wasn't difficult to see why.

The Alpha knows his father; Walter, doesn't think he's capable enough to handle becoming Head Alpha and his younger brother wasn't any better on that department either. Shane might be ideal in everyone's eyes to be the next heir, instead of himself but that's only because they don't know him like Al does, nobody knows about Shane's secret.

And it should stay that way.

Running an entire school of teenage werewolves wasn't how Al thought it be, Shane along with Ernie and him...well mostly him kept everything going and despite Al being busier during the day he always made time for his baby.

Though on a low key standard, Al had showed up to his classes and even in some he wasn't even suppose to be at.

Knowing Cyrus would be there in the same breathing space as him, relaxed The Alpha from stressful of things. He also knew that Cyrus was injured and probably having difficulty in writing down lessons so he wrote it down for him and made Maylin lend his notes to Cyrus after classes. Although that was kinda dumb since the black haired boy knew his handwriting by then, yet he hasn't refused his notebooks and didn't say anything about it. Like normal.

That had to mean something...right? It has to. Al nodded to himself knowing Grim wouldn't answer sarcastically or at all, not after what he's done to Cyrus.

The only downside to being with the emotionally stoic boy during classes is Al can't get near him. Literally, he's always being watched by everyone in the room excluding Cyrus himself. It pissed him off, that all the werewolf girls and guys, including humans too were all eyes on him and him alone.

Whether their attention was for Al's admiration or sexual desires to them, The Alpha only wanted Cyrus to look his direction and the one time he did turn to his table, Cyrus seemed alerted, like he saw an enemy in his line of vision. He likely noticed, on the second day Al has been stalking him in all his classes and thinks he's out to get him, which is true but on a different type of way. He just wanted to be closer to his mate.

"Danmit." Al grumbled in frustration, because Grim had made things worse by sexualy harassing Cyrus earlier. He needs to apologise properly for that.

Nothing was going his way with the strange boy, and his auntie made sure Cyrus's personal files went away with her because obviously he wasn't going to stop. All The Alpha knew about him is 1. Cyrus loves honey cakes, 2. He has a very athletic body which looks yummy, 3. Is actually an intellectual in his studies, 4. He can draw, 5. Has a silver tattoo around his entire neck, XI. Everything else is a dead end and Cyrus doesn't seem like the guy to open up to people easily or talk about himself.

Cyrus doesn't even talk much.

It irritates him knowing he can't mark Cyrus and legally claim the peculiar boy for himself, until Al is sure what exactly is he. A human or a werewolf? If it's the latter, Al wants to do a full background check on Cyrus, that he also couldn't take action. Because if Al tasked it to someone In his pack or anyone to look into Cyrus's past they would get suspicious of The Alpha's interest in Cyrus, and would inform his grandmother after.

Al shots up in his seat, glaring at his own desk from the thoughts that came next. Rumours might leak out, that I have my eyes set on Cyrus and that bastard who's trying to frame me, will use my Rocky to exploit my weaknesses.

He clicks his tongue.

And this time around FUCK...There won't be anything to save me from my Alpha's addiction. Because Cyrus is my second soul mate, I know, I won't get another chance if I lose him too. Moon goddess! I hate this situation! Ughhh!

Never in The Alpha's entire life has Al felt this helpless, trapped, checkmate.

Frustrations

Consumed

Him.

Al then grabbed something to hurl at the walls to release his aggression but he stops himself, feeling the dusty old shape of the picture frame in his hand.

This...why is THIS here? Had I been so distracted, I didn't noticed it sitting simply here until now? Al asks himself.

The Alpha's rasped breathing goes into this broken version, little by little as he dares to glance down at the photo of his own past. The one he can't run from, even if Al tried it wasn't an option; It was his fault they were gone after all.

I left this...at my old office.

With a heavy heart, Al sucked in his breath and prevented the tears from escaping his saddened amber eyes. He saw all of their smiling happy faces and his too, though everyone in that photo was younger and if Al had the ability to go back in time. He would live his days more with them, cherish each second Al was still with his first mate and his idol.

Shutting his eyes tightly, Al made sure nobody would hear him at his rarest state. At his most vulnerable, because Alphas weren't born to be weak, they were only born to be nothing else but leaders to their pack, that shouldn't be himself...it shouldn't be Al to begin with, knowing he wasn't a leader. He cradled the picture frame to his chest.

You're such a moron for believing in me, I'm not the Alpha you'd hoped for. Even two years later, I'm still the same fuck up that can't get their shitty life right.

Years of not just family but his society expectations and pressure was now rushing into Al's mind as he fell apart.

Weeping.

I'm so...s-sorry. Everything here just doesn't seem right for me. I'm really trying, I can't do this right anymore, I-I thought I could but...if you were here, you'd tell me it's not my f-fucking fault yet it is a-and...I'm sorry, Cheesecake.

Crying to a picture frame won't bring them back to you. Do you think this is what they would've wanted? You here alone in this office, bitching about how you missed them? They can't hear you.

Shut up Grim, go away.

Not with that mentally of yours, Al this is just my input but you don't deserve to morn for them...not when you were the reason they got killed an--- Al seethed.

FUCK OFF! WHY DON'T YOU JUST GO BACK TO WHEREVER THE HELL YOU CAME FROM AND KILL YOURSELF!!!

Grim didn't reply, yet he didn't fail.

Al yanked on a drawer and placed the picture frame inside, The Alpha then harshly whipped away some tears as those amber eyes now burned ablaze the internos of hell itself. He hadn't realised that the moment Al puts his emotions first, The Wolf would take charge and Al was his personal slave.

Grims dark lips forms into a sickening smirk, Al's emotional condition grants him strength to take over their body.

You're too easy, kid. Why don't we go and have some playtime with others. I bet Cyrus might join in on our fun and we'd see what skills he's hiding behind that expressionless face of his, let's go. I've also been itching all week to beat anyone without that bicth around here.

----------------

Grim hadn't done much, he just let Al do everything he wanted and watched the entertainment in front of him. Grim told a few insults here and there to engage the crowd of students about Al being better than all of them, that the other sector ranks didn't matter and they're beneath his foot---ants to them practically, isn't not so bad because it's the truth and eventually, students got feed up and started fighting The Alpha.

Grim's goal hasn't changed.

The Wolf still wanted the same things as Al does, though his methods were more cruel and to humans, morally challenging. His human also needed to release his rage because it was better than completely losing himself to Grim.

Last time Al did; it was ugly.

Grim kept his golden gaze at Cyrus the duration of the fight, even sensing he was going to leave the gymnasium in seeing Al like this, Grim told himself.

Fine, go ahead and scurrying away. It's only going to break Al's heart if we find out what exactly you are Cyrus. We---Al doesn't need you. Though Grim was actually feeling devastated seeing him and his guilt shredding his own heart.

But Cyrus turned back to fight for Al.

Not to fight against The Alpha.

Grim couldn't believe it.

BHANG!

"ENOUGH!"

The second Al's fist conjoined to Cyrus palm Grim felt the mate bond stab at his very being and again left The Wolf just horrible and wanting to self-harm again for biting into Cyrus's left arm.

The Alpha gained back most of their control from Grim and watching Cyrus reaction to them touching, that he hoped his strong feelings would be returned. Though it was nonexistent, Cyrus just stared at Al who couldn't take it, this, and everything in between.

If Fluffy can't be with me because of my Alpha status and I can't mark him because I don't know what he really is.

There was only one option The Alpha had, that's completely just...ludicrous.

But fuck it.

Author's Note :

Get yourself a man who will fight FOR YOU!

This chapter was focusing on Al's internal struggles and strangely enough, I got pumped listening to 80s classic music while writing this like "Wake me up before you go go~" and "Foot loose" and lastly oh Jesus Christ. "It's raining men!" (IDK why leave me alone)

And Grims back to cause trouble. Chase actually likes Emmett for his personality and he's finally made up with Rainier! I'm so proud!

What do you guys think Al will do?

Make the ☆ light up!
