Chapter 27
Building A Dream (BoyxBoy)
Adrian
"Have you been taking your medicine?" The doctor asks. Luna's eyes travel around the room as he gently nibbles on his bottom lip.
"No, he hasn't," I cut in, ignoring Luna's groans and eye rolls. "I've tried to make him take it."
"What? Luna, you've gone the past three weeks without taking your medicine?"
"Pills are scary," Luna pouts. "What if it get stuck in my throat? The only thing I like to choke on is dâ"
"Anyway!" The doctor cuts him off and clears his throat. "I can prescribe you liquid medicine to take instead, but you need to take it."
"Aye, aye, captain!" Luna shoots him a bright smile and salutes. With a chuckle, the doctor scribbles something down on his clipboard. "Can I start using screens now?"
"How has your head been feeling?"
"I had a few headaches the first week but now I feel fine."
"Then sure, you can start using screens again."
Excitedly, Luna turns his attention towards me. "Babe, can we go to a VR lounge? Please?"
Before I can respond, the doctor cuts in. "Start with minimal use of screens, Luna. I don't think virtual reality is a good idea right now."
Luna cocks his head to the side and squints at the man. "Is it your goal to ruin my life?"
"It's one of my goals," he hands Luna a slip of paper with his new prescription. "I'll see you next week, Mr. PetÃt."
"Bye, Mr. Doctor Man," Luna waves and hops off of the bed. I follow him out of the doctor's office with a shake of my head. We head down to the parking lot and get into the car, making small conversations as we head home. Almost immediately, Luna makes his way upstairs while I grab my sketchbook and head towards the couch. I spend the next couple of hours drawing whatever comes to my mind. I scribble down multiple sketches of flowers, landscapes, and even random people. Midway through my drawing session, Riot comes over to me and curls into my side. I grab his small body and lift him up.
"Hi, baby," I mumble, softly kissing his head. I release him, allowing him to settle back into his spot, before going back to my drawing. Eventually, I decide to do a quick sketch of Riot, making sure to include details of his light blue collar and fluffy tan fur. "You're getting so big, bub..."Â I smile and rub his belly as my phone vibrates. After checking the screen, I roll my eyes when I realize who it is from.
With a groan, I stand up from the couch and make my way up the stairs. As I get to the top step, I hear music playing from the bedroom. I step into the room to see Luna sitting at his vanity, plucking his thick eyebrows. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"Huh?" he glances at me through the mirror.
"Don't 'huh' me," I roll my eyes. "What date are you talking about?"
"Oh!" A smile forms on his face. "I'm going on a date."
"With who?" I raise an eyebrow as I lay on the bed, folding my arms behind my bed.
"My new boyfriend."
"I'm gonna beat you up."
"Well, you don't go on dates with me so I had to find someone that does."
"And who is this person?"
"Me," he shrugs.
"You're going on a date alone?" I stifle a laugh at his attempt to get me to take him out. "You're lying."
"It's called self-care," he frowns, gently plucking a hair from his eyebrow. "I have to take care of myself since nobody else will."
"Fine. Do you wanna go on a date with me?"
Luna gasps and finally turns around to face me with a bright smile. "Wow! Men always come crawling back to me..."
I give him a blank stare. "You know what? Take yourself on a date," I tell him.
"No!" he stands from his vanity and climbs on top of me, straddling my hips. "I want you to take me..." he murmurs, leaning down to press his lips to my cheek. With a swift movement, I turn my head to capture his lips in mine before pulling away. Luna remains close, deeply inspecting my face. "Why are your eyebrows so perfect?"
"Because I'm perfect."
"Then why are my eyebrows so ugly?"
"Because you'reâ"
"Don't even finish that statement, mister."
"âso beautiful," I flash him a smile before gently tapping his hip. He climbs off of me and heads into the closet. "Do you know where you want to go?"
"Somewhere simple. Maybe go shopping and to a cafe or something," he calls back. He soon returns dressed in a pair of light washed blue jeans, a white collared shirt with a maroon sweater over it, and a pair of white sneakers. He slips his glasses onto his face and grabs his phone. I put on a pair of white sneakers that are similar to Luna's and follow him out of the room.
Soon enough, we're arriving in Soho, preparing ourselves to shop. I park the car on the street and pay for a parking permit before grabbing Luna's hand in mine. "Where do you want to go first?"
"Uh..." Luna starts as we walk down the street, glancing inside of shop windows. "I don't knâ Ooh!" He cuts himself off with a gasp and pulls me into a small dog boutique. "Babe, look how cute this is," he pouts, holding a maroon dog sweater that was similar to his own. "Can we get this for the baby? Please?"
"And where do I fit into this family?" I raise an eyebrow. A smile breaks onto his face as he slides his arms around my neck.
"We can find you one, too! Then we'll all match!"
"Give me a kiss and I'll think about it."
"I don't even know why I'm asking for your permission," he mumbles and backs away. "I'll just pay for it myself."
"No!" I laugh, and pull his body back into mine. "I'll get it but can I still have that kiss?"
"Nope!" Luna smirks and skips around the corner, to the register. With a groan, I follow him around the corner to see him standing in line, talking to a tall, muscular man, occasionally glancing over to find me. I walk up to him and slip my arms around his thin waist. He looks up at me with excited eyes and a grin on his face. "Babe, this is TJ. He's my physical therapist..."
"This is who you've been wearing those tiny ass shorts with?" My eyes widen as I stare at the man, who is almost too attractive.
"Babe..." Luna whines. "Don't be annoying."
"You're Adrian, I'm assuming," the man flashes a white smile at me. "Luna always talks about you. It's nice to finally put a face to a name."
"Yeah," I nod my head as I furrow my brows. "What do you guys do in physical therapy?"
"It's mostly stretching in various positions," he tells me.
Almost instantly, my eyes widen. "Stretching in various positions?!" I snap my head towards Luna. "I'm the only person who's supposed to stretch you in various positions!"
"Ew! Babe, not like that!" he whines. "It's just to make sure my body is recovering properly...besides, Gio is always there."
"Oh god, no," TJ chuckles. "I'm married," he sighs, causing a wave of relief to flow through my body until I see Luna's excited eyes.
"You're married?"
"Yep. For three years now."
"That's so amazing! I want to get married so baâ"
"Next!" The cashier calls. Luna gives TJ a sad smile before turning around to step to the counter. The cashier swiftly rings up the sweater and a couple of other items that Luna picked up on the way in line. Luna and I have a quick dispute over who should pay before I finally decide to allow Luna to pay for the items. Once we're finished, Luna bids TJ a goodbye and we exit the boutique. As we continue on down the street, I raise an eyebrow at him.
"What?" he mutters, looking up at me.
"You wanna get married?" I question.
"I don't want to talk about it," he blushes and looks away.
"I'm serious. You want to?"
"Well, I've always wanted to get married...but now that I'm very happy with the man of my dreams, I can't wait to get married," he slips his fingers into mine and gives my hand a gentle squeeze. With a grin, I lean down to kiss his cheek. "What about you?"
"I'm pushing thirty. I'm way past the point of 'ready to get married'. I need to get married."
"But do you want to get married to me?"
"Of course. I can't imagine myself being with anyone else."
Luna looks up at me with a smile as he grips my arm. "So we both want to get married...cool.."
"Cool," I nod my head, trying to hide the smirk threatening to appear on my face.
"Don't make it awkward!" Luna pouts, gently shoving my shoulder.
"I'm not," I chuckle and roll my eyes. We make our way into a clothing store and begin to look around at the various items. Before I know it, Luna is carrying an abundance of clothes in his arms, trying his best not to let them fall.
"Ooh! Babe, those jeans are so cute!" he gushes, staring at a pair of black, ripped jeans. "Can you place them on top of my pile?"
"You have like ten pairs of jeans that look exactly like that."
"And you have like six suits that all look the same but you don't see me judging you," he playfully rolls his eyes.
I reluctantly grab the jeans and place them on top of the pile. "Where are you going to fit all of these clothes in our closet?"
"On your side."
"And where am I supposed to put my clothes?"
"I'm sure you'll find some place for them," he shrugs causing a frown to form on my face. "I'm kidding," he giggles. "I'll probably just put them in the guest room."
"Need me to carry something?" I ask him, reaching for the pile.
"No, thank you!" He quickly turns his body causing about half of the clothes to fall onto the floor. "Oopsies..." he mutters. With a chuckle, I grab the clothes from the floor and hold them in my arms. "Thanks..."
"How about you try these on? I don't think you need to pick up anything else."
A pout forms on Luna's face as he nods. "Fine," he grumbles and makes his way towards the dressing room. We both bring the clothes into the dressing before I start to exit to continue looking at clothes. "Wait!" he grabs my hand. I turn around to raise an eyebrow at him. "...can you stay with me?"
"I can't stay in here with you, babe. I'll be right outside of the door, okay?"
He nods his head and whispers a soft, "I'm sorry."
"It's okay," I lean in to gently press a kiss to his temple. "Come out when you're ready," I tell him and exit the dressing room, closing the door behind me. I take a seat on a chair near the door and wait for him to exit. Ever since the accident, Luna has developed a fear of being alone in public spaces so I'm not surprised that he doesn't want me to leave him. He barely even likes when I leave him alone at home.
It doesn't take long before I hear his soft voice calling my name. "Baby?"
"I'm right here, Sweetheart," I reassure him. I hear a quiet click of the lock before he opens the door, revealing himself in a yellow and white striped button up shirt along with a pair of light washed jeans.
"Do you like this?" he asks me, looking at himself in the mirror from different angles.
"You look good. Those pants do wonders for your ass."
Almost instantly, he turns around to look at his butt in the mirror. "Oh my gosh, really?! Is my booty fat? Am I finally getting thick?"
I burst into laughter. "Shut up and go change!" I roll my eyes. Luna grins at me and closes the door once again. He comes out to show me quite a few more items before he eventually exits wearing a silky red top that exposes his bare back in red lace, causing my jaw to drop.
"Can you zip this for me?" he asks. I stand up and enter his dressing room to zip up the back of the shirt. I stare at him for a moment before biting my lip. "You like it? It's a bit revealing." I hum, lightly pressing my lips to his collarbone. Luna's face flushes before he turns around to look at himself in the mirror. "Baby, answer me," he whines.
"I love it," I respond and move my lips to his neck.
With a whimper, he turns around and wraps his arms around my neck. "Then I'll be sure to get it," he stands on his tip toes and softly presses his lips against mine. I slip my hands down to his waist and gently push him against the wall of the dressing room, deepening the kiss. A moan exits Luna's mouth as I slip my tongue in between his lips. Soft moans and whimpers continue to flow out of us as we enter a slight tongue war with each other. I slide my hands under his shirt and softly thumb at his hips, breaking away from the kiss when I run my thumb over a patch of raised flesh on his hipbone. I glance down to see a small tattoo of the word Babydoll written in cursive. Luna nibbles at his lip before pulling me back into a passionate kiss, kit allowing me to display a reaction toward the new ink on his body. My hands travel up his chest until they run over a small metal object on his nipples, causing his body to jerk back against the wall. I pull away from his lips to place more kisses on his neck as I run my fingers over the piercing.
"B-Babe..." he moans when I gently suck on the base of his neck.
"When did you get that piercing?" I ask, pinching the sensitive bud in between my finger tips, sending another breathy moan flying from his swollen lips.
"A-A couple of w-weeks ago," he whimpers, fisting at my shirt. As I move my lips back toward his, there's a soft knock at the door.
"Excuse me?" The store attendant calls. "Is everything okay in there, sir?"
"Yeah, everything is fine," Luna replies with a sigh. "I'll be out in a second." There's no response besides the footsteps that we hear exiting the dressing area. I back away from Luna, glancing at the dark purple marks that litter his tan skin. "Adrian!" he gasps, staring at his neck in the mirror.
With a loud laugh, I unlock the door and exit the room. "Hurry up and change," I tell him. Another chuckle exits my mouths when Luna exits the room a few moments later, dressed in his normal clothes. He glares at me over the pile of clothes in his arms before making his way to the cash register. After another small fight, I end up paying for the items, despite the pout that remains on Luna's face the entire time that I swipe my credit card.
When we're carrying his bags out of the store, he looks up at me with a frown on his face. "I know you have money but I really don't like when you buy things for me..."
"I wanted to do it, baby," I intertwine our fingers and kiss his temple as his frown grows deeper.
"I don't deserve that, Adrian."
"You deserve the world, my love," I grin at him.
"Can we go eat now?" he sighs. I nod my head and lead us further down the street. Soon enough, we're stopping in front of a casual Italian restaurant.
"Your restaurant opens in a couple of weeks. We need to scope out the competition."
"Sure," he giggles as we enter the restaurant. It takes about ten minutes before they finally seat us at a table near a large window in the back of the restaurant.
"Long wait. Minus ten points," I shake my head, dramatically. "I can't believe this."
"Baby," he laughs.
"I'm kidding! I'm kidding!" I playfully roll my eyes before pausing and looking at him. "No I'm not."
"I know you aren't!"
"I'm just saying that the wait shouldn't be that long. What if I had somewhere to be? What if I was in a rush?"
"Then you shouldn't be sitting down at a restaurant. You should be going to where you need to be," he raises an eyebrow at me.
"Horrible owner mentality," I shake my head with a soft laugh. "Speaking of owners, are you nervous for the opening?"
"Absolutely. I'm really scared I'm gonna mess everything up..."
"You're gonna be amazing, sweetheart. And I'll be here with you every step of the way."
"Thank you," Luna sends me a sweet smile. I quickly lean over the table to kiss his cheek before opening my menu. It doesn't take long before Luna and I both decide on our food. The waitress approaches our table, moments after, and quickly takes our order. Soon enough, we're enjoying our meals and laughing with each other as we tell short stories from our childhoods. Before I know it, we're both pushing our empty plates to the middle of the table as we sit back with stuffed bellies. "That was delicious!"
"I think this place will be your largest competitor."
"Stop!" he whines with a pout. "You're making me nervous!"
"Don't be! Your parent's restaurant is amazing! I'm sure yours will be no different."
Luna let's out a sigh as a small smile forms on his face. "We'll see. I haven't even finished training employees yet."
"How many more training days do you have? You were training the other week too."
"Just one more. We had to take a break and everything got off track because of the accident."
"Don't stress yourself out. Your body can't handle that."
"I'll try my hardest," he shrugs. We order for the check before quickly paying ourâmuch too expensiveâ bill and making our way out of the restaurant. As we head back up the street towards the car, Luna climbs onto my back and forces me to carry him.
"You're not as light as you look!" I let out a hard groan when I set him down next to the car.
He explodes into a fit of giggles before climbing inside. "I deserve to be carried, no matter how heavy I am." I start the engine and begin to drive home. The twenty minute ride goes by quicker than usual due to Luna's loud singing and dramatic dancing to whatever songs come on the radio. Eventually I join him in his antics and we both spend the last ten minutes of the drive singing old love songs to each other. Soon enough, our fun comes to an end as we enter through the gates of our home. We get out of the car and head into the house, almost immediately being approached by an excited Riot. As always, Luna bends down to play with him while I head upstairs to change into comfortable clothing. As I slip on a pair of shorts, Luna enter the bedroom. "Can we have movie night?"
"I set up the movie, you get the snacks?" I raise an eyebrow. Luna nods his head with a grin before I exit the room. I grab a couple of blankets and pillows from the hallway closet and go into the living room. I spread the blankets out on the floor next to the couch and grab the television remote, flicking through Netflix until I finally land on an old action movie. Before I know it, Luna is entering the living room dressed in an old shirt of mine that is far too big for him and a pair of knee high socks. He places two bowls of chips and popcorn on the coffee table before laying down next to me on the blanket. I wrap my arm around his shoulders and pull him into me as he cuddles into my chest. I place a kiss on his forehead as Riot slips his tiny body in between our legs. As I turn on the movie, Luna looks up at me. "What?" I ask, softly.
"Nothing. I just love you so much."
I gently peck his nose and smile. "I love you too, baby."
