CHAPTER TWENTY SEVEN

MAXIMUS'S P.O.V

It has been five hours since they left and everything is just a mess. For starters Myron, Alex and Matt can't seem to agree on anything so they had to cancel training today. Tyler is still acting out like a hunter he is, so he threatened to stab someone at school which led to suspension and Maxine to detention which right now they are both grounded too, how did it come to that I don't know. Avery is down with cold, I didn't even know dragons can get sick especially the one who breathes Ice, So Levi is playing nurse to him.

Chris and Darius are out there doing god knows what. Cole can't stop whining about him being left behind by his mates and he misses them so bad, which makes my ears hurt. Thankfully Jordan is not anywhere near these misery, he is at the hospital with Travis.

And I am at the pack house in the office being surrounded by paper works. I never thought the work of signing and reading some papers would be this hard. I wonder how Damien and Walker dealt with this. I hate paper work, I want to kill something and not writing.

' We could go for a run', Nathan my wolf suggests.

' Or we could go for a kill', Arlo my vampire says. ' I haven't drank blood in a long time'

' you just had blood yesterday', I reply . ' and I hate the taste of it'

' But you don't hate raw meat'. Arlo hisses.

' Well because it is a normal thing to eat and not that red thing', Nathan growls.

' That red thing is what makes him a vampire'. Arlo hiss again.

' And raw meat is what makes him a wolf'. Nathan snarls

' Maybe I should be a vegetarian for both of you, would that make me human?' I snap at both of them.

Well most of the time these two give me more headaches than another human being/ creature, cause most of the time they don't seem to agree on anything and they sometimes forget that am apart of them. Who even makes vampire and wolf in one body, these creatures hate each other from the beginning of time.

' You wouldn't dare'. Arlo starts.

' You will starve to death'. Nathan joins.

' Do you want to try me?' I dared them.

But before any of them said anything Harvey walks in.

' Well it looks like your wolf pet is here, am out see you losers later'. Arlo says before he vanishes at the back of my mind.

" Hey Harvey whats up". I get up from my chair and meet him half way and kneel so I could be at the same level. Which he only nuzzles my face and licks me. I only kiss his head on return.

" Whom did you come with?" Sometimes I just wish he could talk just like my two idiots in my head.

' We are not idiots'. Nathan argues.

' But sometimes you act like it'. I growl at him.

Then walks in Sally, Oxy , Kelly and Tyler.

' It looks like you have company, see you later'. Nathan disappears also.

" And here I thought you were grounded". I walk back to my desk.

" Am still grounded". Ty says as he takes a seat on on of the couches in the office.

" Then what are you doing here?"

" I was bored, so I decided to take a walk". Ty says patting Oxy on his head.

I just kept looking at him speechless, cause I have no idea what he is going through or what is on his mind right now. I think it is that time when a kid is growing and he/ she doesn't know how to treat others or it is just him and his issues which I believe Trev was suppose to be done with by now.

" Stop staring at me like that". Ty says with a frown on his face.

* Where the hell are you? We are under attack* Chris shouts in my head that made me flinch alittle.

* Under attack, who is attacking us?* I ask as I stand up from my chair.

" What is wrong?" Ty asks.

" We are under attack. I need you to stay in here and lock the door behind me"

" Under attack by who?"

" I am about to find out", I start to walk to the direction of the door before I remember something, " Ty please stay in here for real this time".

" Yes I will, just go". He ushers me to go with his hands but I only stand there for a minute.

Why don't I believe him, anyways I have to go.

* Where are you guys?* I ask no one in particular as I ran out of the pack house.

* Southern border* Alex replies and by his voice he is fighting someone.

* On my way*

I don't bother to strip down my close, as I just shift into my gigantic red eyes, black fur wolf and sprint to the direction of the fight.

Before even I could full be there and analyze the situation, I see a shadow coming from behind me. As fast as my vampire speed I turn just in time to dodge a wrath claws of a vampire.

* Holy shit they are vampires?* I shout to no one in particular.

* And wolves too* Matt replies.

I snarl at the vampire infront of me to make sure he knows whom he is messing with but I don't think he gets the memo and he tries to attack me. But before he could reach for my neck, I turn on my side ways and bump into him which cause him to fly back and hit on a tree, without giving him the chance of recovery I launch into him and go for his neck which it wasn't hard for me to sink my teeth and tear his head off.

Moving further into the battle field I see Myron fighting off a vampire and a wolf. Without even thinking twice I jump at the wolf as he was giving me his back so he did not see me coming. My teeth sink at his neck but he was quick to recover and turn us around and push me with his hind legs which send me flying on the ground.

Before I could get up, I feel a leg on my neck crushing my windpipe. So all I can do is shift back into my vampire which made my attacker to freeze and gave me an opportunity to hold his leg and flip him down using all the speed I have I pull his windpipe wide open.

Looking at the field I see everything winding up so fast and the rest of the attackers start to retreat.

" What just happened?" I ask Chris as he was close to me.

" I think they just found us". Matt says as he walks to where we are standing.

Just by looking at everyone it looks like we have few injuries and no one died.

" Carry all the wounded to the hospital". Chris tells the warriors . " We need to talk".

Without even wasting any time we took off to the direction of the pack house.

I need to clean myself before going to the office, " Hey Myron check on Ty he is in the office".

" You left Ty in the office?" Myron growls.

" What was I suppose to do. Take him with me?" I ask him with a duh tone.

" How about you could take him somewhere safe like in the bunker". Myron shouts as he takes another step towards the direction of the office.

Looking at everyone else they all look at me as if I have done something awful.

" He was grounded anyway". I whine before I run to the Beta's suite.

Doing everything I could and went back to the office. Reaching there I find commotion everywhere.

" What the hell is going on?" I ask no one in particular.

" Ty wasn't in the office where you left him". Chris says looking at me worried.

" I told him to stay in the office, he had Sally, Harvey, Oxy and Kelly with him", I half yell as I take my phone dialing his phone.

' This boy is driving you crazy', Arlo smiles.

' Shut it', I hiss at him.

After few more rings he picks up which I wish he didn't.

>Whats up Uncle Max WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU At the park with Maxine and the wolves. Why is something wrong? I swear to Moon goddess if you don't get here in five minutes I will...... Hey hunter boy, I think is best if you get home now before your uncle finds you. Okay Bye<.

" That is how you talk to an eleven year old and not yelling". Darius says handling my phone back.

" Myron would you please go and get your mate and make sure he stays at home this time". I frustratingly ask him before I turn to look at Darius.

" Where were you anyways?" I ask him.

" Well when the fight broke I told them to get inside, we don't want to risk them seen". Chris says proudly.

" What he said", Darius says taking a seat on a couch. Which I just roll my eyes at him.

" How did they get inside the border, I thought Jordan put the wards up". I ask them.

" Well for starters the wards only works from midnight remember". Alex reminds me.

Yeah, well since the new rules begun Dylan told Jordan to put magical wards at the borders which helps the patrol warriors during the night and also helps with the curfews. But I didn't know that they only work during the night only.

" But from what I know about my father or our fathers is that they will come again", Levi says.

" And this time stronger as they have lost badly", Cole joins.

" They did not expect that much of a hit and they underestimated you. So I don't think they will do that mistake again", Liam continues.

" That is why we should fight this time and not just hide behind steel doors like chickens. Because right now they will double even triple their people" , Darius says.

" Absolutely not". I protest hardly.

" Hey...if you haven't noticed I am a vampire too who can fight by the way", He half yells.

" And am not ready to see you get killed by your own father", I growl hiss at him.

" What he is trying to say he is worried that his mate is going to get hurt, well guess what I am his mate too and am not worried cause I know he is capable of handling himself", Chris tells me right at my face.

" Exactly...thanks beib". Darius tells Chris with a smirk on his face.

" Ooh...come on". I half whisper to myself.

" How about I put some extra wards at the border, I believe Jordan will help", Cole Volunteers.

" Help you to do what?" Jordan walks in with Avery by his side.

" Avery!" Matt and Levi all rush to where Avery is and hug, kiss him.

" Help me. Help you. Help each other to put extra wards at the border". Cole stutters which made all of us to look at him with ' what is wrong with you' look.

" Ooh...right". Jordan trails looking at him. " I heard about the attack so I came to check if anyone of you wants my healing skills".

" Nope we are all fine". I assure him ," But we could use your magical skills".

" Okay one more thing before we go all magical, is anyone going to tell Dylan about the attack?" Alex asks.

Which everyone goes to silent mood cause we forgot that we are suppose to do that.

" Well the gammas are in charge", Cole replies.

" Really?" Chris asks him with a frown.

" Are we now?" I ask him with a frown too.

" Hey don't be mean to him cause his mates aren't here to protect him", Liam tries to defend him.

" I love my beibs faces when they don't know what to do", Darius laughs loudly.

" Thanks for the support love", Chris looks at him with a smile.

" Did you just call him love?" I ask him unbelievably.

But before he could answer both our phones ring at the same time.

Looking at the caller ID is Mark calling.

" Why is Mark calling me?" I ask no one in particular.

" Why is Nick calling me?" Chris asks no one particular.

Then it clicks and we all turn to look at Cole.

" What I didn't call them", He tries to defend himself.

" Your mate bond did", Matt tells him.

And now we are screwed.
