Twenty three

“I_need to take_this off,” I said when his closeness was doing more than just an urge to kiss him. He stepped back, away from me with an apologetic look.

“I’m sorry” I quickly said and left the room. I quickly removed the gown and changed back to my clothes. I handed the gown to the lady and she added it to the rest of the dress. With Lucian’s help and a lot of coming and going, we eventually get all of the clothes in the car.

“Are you hungry?” Lucian asked and I nodded. Not really but anything to spend a little more time with Lucian. Lucian drove to the small restaurant.

A young guy came to our table when we got there and took our orders.

“Burger, please” I requested. He turned to face Lucian without saying anything but he knew he was expected to place his order.

“Same but make mine two” He instructed. The guy nodded and proceeded to ask some more questions.

“Drinks?” He had asked and I answered him,

“Water for me, please”

“Beer” Lucian replied, his voice harsh. I shot him a questioning look which he ignored.

“Anything else?” He asked with a smile. I nodded, no.

“I’ll be back in ten minutes,” He said and left us.

“What’s wrong with you?” I immediately asked.

“Nothing” He answered avoiding eye contact with me.

“Really? It's unlike you to suddenly be in a foul mood when we're together. Did I do something wrong?” I could not help but ask. Had I done something that irritated him? Had he lost the zeal to hang out with me for the whole day? It's just afternoon.

He brought his hand forward wrapping mine around his.

“No, you did nothing wrong. Don't ever think that” He said quickly, reassuring me I wasn't the cause for his mood.

“Is it the presence of the humans?” I asked again and he nodded his head left to right.

“Doesn’t seem like you will drop it, I might as well tell you”

“Yes, please,” I said excited he wanted to talk to me.

“Not to sound jealous which of course I'm not but I don't like the way he was all over you” He complained. I couldn't help but let out a small laugh.

“Who? The waiter?” I asked amused.

“Yes,” He answered not liking my response.

“You have to be kidding Lucian, he has no chance. I don't think you should get jealous cause a human boy finds me attractive, females are all over you all the time” I said to him.

“Yeah, he doesn't have a chance” He repeated maybe to make himself feel better. I found it weird Lucian got jealous honestly. I noticed the human was being excessively nice towards me but I paid no mind to him, I didn't know Lucian was paying that much attention to me to even notice.

“Thanks,” I said.

“What for?”

“Everything and for not being a d*** about the waiter,” I said. It didn't take long for the waiter to come back with our order and he left us after that. When I took a bite of my burger was when I realized how hungry I was. Funnily I wanted more when I was done which I found really weird. Why I'm in this hungry. I gulped down my water and waited for Lucian to finish up. He didn't eat his second burger and he offered it to me. I took it not sure why he thought to give me.

“I’ve had my fill” I lied. He smiled at me.

“I can tell you want more. I'm not hungry. Eat up and let's continue with getting your clothes” what?

“More shopping?” I asked, horrified.

“Yes. I told you we had a lot to get you” He reminded me of our conversation. I didn't think I would actually take the whole day to buy clothes, clothes!. I finished the burger before I knew it and we were on the road again as soon as Lucian paid.

“You know I don't need any more clothes right?” I said. Lucian nodded, yes.

“We haven't gotten you your personal items. Don't worry you won't even know I'm around” He promised and I nodded.

True to his words, Lucian sat down while I picked out the underwear I wanted. This didn't take me long.

“Done?” He asked and I nodded, yes.

“Yes” I responded

“Did you get yourself swimming suits?” He inquired.

“No” I replied.

“You will need those, I can help you pick them out” Lucian helped me with the swimsuits. As he did with the gowns, he got me more than I knew I needed. When he paid for those and got into the car, I thought we were done but Lucian wasn't on the same page like I had thought.

“You haven't gotten toiletries” He reminded me.

“I completely forgot!” I exclaimed. He smiled at me for being all dramatic.

“That’s why you have me,” He said driving just a little further away from the store.

I totally needed Lucian in this aspect so he helped pick out my new body wash and a bathing scrub. New toothbrush and paste. He helped pick out everything I would need in the bathroom and even things I didn't think I need. He got extras of everything and his excuse was,

“We don't want to shop like this every month” I knew that was just an excuse because he could effortlessly have someone get it for him. I just nodded. He paid and this time we were on our way to the the pack territory.

I was so tired and so I slept off.

“Rain” Lucian tapped me gently. I forced my eyes open.

“We’re home” He whispered like he didn't want to wake me but I was awake. Probably didn't want to shout when I was just waking up.

“Thanks for today” I mumbled

I stood up and got out of the car and Lucian closed the door. I opened the back seat to take some of the luggage but he stopped me.

“They will be in your room first thing in the morning, you need to rest,” He said to me. I couldn't agree more with him.

As soon as we entered a young maid came up to me and handed me a letter. Was it Wren I thought? He promised to call and I realised I didn't have a phone. He could call the packhouse or at least send me a letter.

“Thank you,” I said with a smile as I turned the letter over and saw the name.
