Chapter thirty one

I shifted back as soon as I got to the corridor of the floor where the bedroom was.

“Rain” I met Henrietta on the way. The only person I could say I liked.

“I’m sorry. I don't want to talk right now” I beg. She nodded and smiled at me.

“I understand. Get some rest before lunchtime” She told me.

“I don't think I'm going to eat,” I told her in advance.

“You did not eat anything all morning”

“Maybe dinner. I need to go now”

I ran to my room. I went into the bathroom and prepared a bath for myself with some of the new bathing essentials I got from the shopping with Lucian and I took my time to look over at our relationship. It does not look like we are meant to be to get her but why did the moon goddess put us together? For what reason? Was the vampire king being honest about what he said? It can't all be a lie. Lucian did say there are types of wolves. I need to get into that library again and see what I can find about the types of wolves or anything in particular.

I finished with my bath and changed into a robe. As soon as I got to the bed I laid down on the bed and my thoughts went to my encounter with the vampire king.

“I’m what they call the vampire king” My body went still with fear.

“What do you want?!” I asked pushing him off me. He released me.

“I want to make a deal with you” He proposes.

“You still haven't told me how you know my name,” I said. He smiled at me and answered,

“Everyone knows your name” He announced.

“Why will they know my name?” I asked genuinely curious.

“You really don't know anything about yourself do you?” He asked

“If I did I wouldn't be asking you” I snapped.

“It’s nothing to get angry for,” He said. I rolled my eyes.

“You barely know who you are and everyone around you is using that to their advantage” He informed

“And why will I trust that you are saying the truth.I don't even know you” I counter. He smiled.

“I have no reason to lie Raina” She said.

“How do I trust you?” I interrogated.

“Because I have no reason to lie to you” He repeated.

“You said that already. How do I know you are not doing this to get me to do something to Lucian and his pack?”

“Even with so much hate in your heart the mate bond still makes you care about him”

“I don't hate anyone” I countered.

“Say that to convince yourself. I know what a hateful soul looks like”

“Just stop. What is this deal all about?” I changed the topic of discussion feeling uncomfortable he was able to read me so well. Who is this man? And why exactly is he here?

“I have your friend and you have something that I want” He answered. I raised a brow at him and asked,

“And what might that be?” I asked.

“Just what I like to hear”

“Answer me will you?” I rolled my eyes.

“Really brave for a barely strong werewolf”

“I have something you want, you can't kill me” I replied to him.

“Yet” He added. I could see myself visibly swallow.

“What do you want?” I asked again not sounding like what he just said scared the living crap out of me.

“Lucy” He announced.

“What do you want with her?” I asked him confused at his request.

“Let’s just say we have unfinished business” He responded.

“What kind of unfinished business?” I asked again.

“Will you just keep to your end of the deal?!” He screamed at him.

“Fine! When do I see Megan?” I inquired.

“When I see Lucy” He replied.

“How do I call you when I have her?” I asked. He walked closer to me with a smile making me remember my naked state. I guess he noticed this and smirked.

“I thought you would never ask. Take this” He gives me this black button-like device.

“What should I do with this?” I implored.

“Just press this button and I will be back here” He explains.

“What about_”

“I’ll be here with your friend just come with Lucy and you will have her,” He said to me and I nodded.

“I have a question?” I said to him when he turned to leave.

“What is it darling?” He asked.

“Don’t call me that.” I snapped. He only smiled at me.

“What is your question?”

“Not a question actually” I started.

“Get on with it, will you?”

“Bring clothes when I summon you. I might need to change” I informed him.

“You already have a plan you little fox” He smirked. Must he always do that?

“Yes I do so please come in clothes”

“Don’t you want to know more about yourself?” He asked.

“Your persistency is making it really hard to believe you are not lying”

“Did you know not all werewolves are born wolves?” His question caught my attention instantly.

“What do you mean?”

“I mean exactly what I said. A wolf can be made” He informed me.

“Really? How?” I asked again.

“Did you know there are Lycans then werewolves who are a creation of a jealous which?” He asked. His questions and knowledge intrigued me so I listened further.

“How is any of this connected to me?” I asked.

“A talk for later but know this, you are so much stronger than you think you are,” He said and turned to leave.

I turned away from him too and shifted back into my brown wolf making my way back to the packhouse?

The knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. I didn't ask for who was at the door because I already got his scent so I just asked,

“What do you want?”
