Chapter thirty six
Little bites, alpha(to be taken down for editing)
I carried a black bag and stuffed it up with some clothes and carried it. I put on black leggings and a black long-sleeved bodysuit. I put on shoes and walked out of the room I was starting to feel like it was mine. But sometimes we have to let go no matter how hard to become a better version of ourselves.
walked into chaos. There is no other way to describe the scene before me. An angry Lucian. His fangs were out, his claws visible as I howled. I looked at Rietta but she quickly looked away from me. Weird. I looked at Lucy who looked like she knew exactly what was going on. With the smug smile on her face, I feared she had done something again.
âWho went in there!â Lucian growled.
âWhere?â I asked.
âMy personal library was raided last night and my book is missing!â
Wait, I am with his book but I never went into his library last night? I looked at Lucy who only rolled her eyes at me before she faced Lucian again.
âWhy don't we search. We can begin with Rainaâs roomâ She suggested.
âI was not in the library last night!â I defended myself quickly.
âThen who stole my oldest book and broke the glass on which it was kept last nightâ I stared at him dumbfounded. One I did not break anything and two did he really think I would destroy his library.
âDo you seriously think I would destroy your library, Lucian?â I screamed at him. His claws and fangs were back in now. He looked at me for a while before answering.
âA little searching will do us no harm, will it?â He asked. I wanted to badly break down. He will never trust me and sincerely I didn't want to try anymore. I looked at Henrietta. I know he will find his book but I will explain I didn't take the book yesterday night? Or I wasn't the one that destroyed his library.
âFine! Check. I was leaving anywayâ I snapped hiking my bag up.
âYou were going to leave me?â He interrogated
âDonât act as you want me here!â I shouted. Henrietta walked over to us and held her brotherâs shoulders.
âLet her be Lucian,â She said. Lucian moved away and Rietta hugged me.
âRi, I promise I was not in there last nightâ I explained as tears fell but I was quick to clean them before anyone saw me weak, crying.
âI believe youâ She whispered patting my back.
âLetâs get on with the searchâ Lucy announced.
âItâs not needed. We can just get the library fixed and talk about how to find the bookâ Henrietta countered. Lucy looked angry.
âWhat is wrong with you Rietta? Why do you trust this devil so muchâ She screamed.
âThis is not about trust, it's simple human decency!â
âI doubt she knows what that meansâ Lucy continued.
âBe careful when you talk to me Lucy, I am not Lucian and you know that fullyâ
âWhat does that mean?â Lucian asked angrily.
âIt means I just don't believe anyone because I've known them longer. Don't you see what is happening here? Since Riana got here Lucy has shown her disinterest and suddenly they both hate each other and you think Lucy is in the right here!â She screamed at her brother. Lucian did not say anything but leave it to Lucy to blab.
âOr maybe you are just falling for her pitiful story she has fed you with to see how much of a self-entitled bitch that she isâ Lucy let out.
âOr maybe Lucy, you are the self-titled bitch. Here is something you don't want to acknowledge, Raina, is the Luna of this pack and it is time you started to respect her because any more disrespect from you I will take the right actions against you without caring about Lucianâ I held her hand.
âItâs fine Ri.â I tried to stop her from the argument with Lucy but she wouldn't stop.
âStop them!â I screamed at Lucian who still stood staring at everything unfolding before him.
âWhy do you act like an idiot all the time?â I entreated angrily.
âThere is only much disrespect I can take from you Raina. Watch the way you talk to me!â
âThatâs all you care about, respect. Fuck the respect when you can't even be a good alphaâ I yelled at him.
âAlphaâ A guard called. I looked up the same time he did and see the big old brown book in his hands.
âThis was found in the Lunaâs roomâ He announced. Lucy looked pleased with herself.
âYou knew you had the book all this while?â He asked. Not caring about anything anymore I answered his question.
âYes. I did not go in there yesterday. Maybe if you listened to me you would have known I had the book for a while now. It's clear that I am not wanted hereâ I said turning away. I looked back to face Lucy.
âI apologized to you Lucy but you made it clear you would not let go of the grudge from over then years ago, what did you expect from me? Continue to beg you for being a child when I was a child? Grow up, Lucy?â
I walked away from the packhouse not sure of what I was going to do with myself. I just knew I just had to leave.
