Chapter Sixty
Little bites, alpha(to be taken down for editing)
"Good morning" Lucian said with a smile. I returned the smile politely. The goddess knows all I wanted to do was to jump him. Kiss him senselessly and let him fuck my brains out.
"What do you think about that Raina?" Shaking my head seriously i looked at him.
"Sorry, you were saying?" I asked. I had no idea what he was saying. I had been thinking about how I wanted him to touch me and use me for both our pleasure.
"What's on your mind this morning?" Lucian asked with a look of worry passed across his face.
"Nothing" I lied. What was I supposed to say? 'I was thinking about us being intimate?' Hell no. I won't embarass myself.
"It doesn't seem_" I cut him off before he could argue with me.
"I said it was nothing, leave it," I said leaving no room for argument. He moved towards the sink to pick his brush. He brushed his teeth silently and I did the same thing.
When we were both done I moved to leave when Lucian pulled me back to himself. His right hand wrapped me in, his breaths uneven. I looked up to stare at his mesmerizing green eyes just like I loved to. Not wanting to destroy this beautiful moment i decided against asking him why he held me back instead I let myself enjoy the feel of his hand on my waist with his palm slightly placed on my butt. Hid other hand in my hair as we locked eyes.
I could feel the heat rush to my face when Lucian smiled letting me lose eye contact with him. He brought his hands to my face and made me look back at him. There was this silent smile stuck on his face. Not sure of what was making him smile I looked away.
"Don't deprive me of staring at your beautiful face love" He whispered, his breath fanning my neck. this sent shivers down. I looked back at him.
Immediately I turned back to look at him he wrapped his hand around my neck gently before he let me have a taste of mint he got from the toothpaste who both just used. Moving to touch him he held my hands down with his left hand behind my back. I let go of any form of control that I had and let him lead. Lucian withdrew from the kiss releasing my hands letting me hug him. I stared at myself through the mirror. My lips were already swollen from the kiss. I felt myself leave the floor as he lifted me, placing me on the flat surface in the bathroom. He continued his kiss on my face. Kissing my eyes, nose, everywhere except my lips. I groaned pulling at his hair forcing his lips back on mine.
"Lucian!" I heard the now familiar voice of Jack call out my mate. Lucian on hearing his name gave a groan of protest as he ignored trailing his kisses down to my neck then my cleavage. I moaned holding his hair in a fist.
âLucianâ Jack called again and I stopped Lucian by holding his shoulder.
âLucian_Jack,â I said whilst trying to catch my breath. Lucian moved back away from me. He helped me down. Pulling me into a hug he gave my butt a gentle squeeze.
âLucianâ This time Jackâs voice was near. Little did we know how close he was.
âGet out Jackâ Lucian groaned in my neck. I laughed.
âI don't want to stop any of the plans you have for today,â I told him trying to jump down but his hands on my thighs was preventing me from moving.
âYouâre my plan for today and every dayâ His hands grabbed each of my breasts from underneath my top, kneading my erect nipples slowly as he continued kissing me.
The door to the bathroom slammed open revealing an angry-looking Jack.
âLucian what the hell are you_â He stopped mid-sentence when he finally took note of his surroundings and realised what we had been doing before he barged in. Lucian didn't stop what he was doing with my breasts which made the who situation more embarrassing.
âIâm sorry. I'll just leaveâ He murmured with a teasing smile as he left. I buried my face in Lucianâs neck, embarrassed. Lucian patted my back holding back his laughter but I still heard it.
âYouâre cute when you blush,â He said. I looked up and hit his shoulder.
âAss,â I said laughing too. I can't believe that just happened. I pushed him back giving me enough space to get down. We both left the bathroom and went about our daily lives.
When Lucian left the room I changed into short shorts and one of his shirts. I went to the kitchen to see if I could do something useful for the day. On my way to the kitchen, I found Henrietta sitting at the far end of the sitting room with her head on her lap.
âRiâ I called. She looked up with a forced smile. I walked closer and made a squat beside her.
âAre you ok?â I asked concerned about how she was taking the whole thing.
âYeah, I'll beâ
âIâm so sorry for what happened to you but you should know I also lost my parents that day. Not trying to dismiss your feelings but I want you to know that I understand you and what you are going through and I want to be here for you as a friendâ I told her. She smiled and pulled me into a hug forcing me onto my knees.
âI love youâ She murmured in my hair.
âI love you too Ri. So_ breakfast?â I asked unsure if I was being too forward.
âNah I want to talk about that day,â She said. Oh.
âIâm here to listenâ I assured her getting on the empty space on the couch beside her.
âIt was known that a battle was going on. Wolves worked together to win but how do you win a battle that you donât know its purpose? Till date we donât even know why we fight. This whole thing is messed up. Why do we go through this as wolves? We are supposed to be one, arenât weâ
I understood where she was coming from honestly. I also lost my parents and for what? Nothing? Absolutely nothing. Why do we have to fight one another for no reason just because the goddess isnât stopping itâ
âI guess so_ I think what we should do now is focus on not losing your new family. I want to do this for us for everyone I hold dear. I wonât lose any of you to the warâ I assured Ri pulling her into a hug. She leaned into my hug and I heard her sigh of relief.
âYou know my old pack was_â She started. I didnât interrupt and let her talk about her old life.
âReally wonderful. I was the Alphaâs only child so life back then was the best. Everything was going smoothly and even when I found my soulmate I didnât leave the pack. He wanted me to stay and be the next Alpha. Who does that without some reasoning? No one so this made me love even more. I thought nothing was going to stop what we had but I was so wrong. This minute we were happy the next I was pregnant and before we could wrap our head around the face that we were expecting a baby they got taken away from me. My baby girlâ
She cried harder. She already got me confused by her story. She lost her family at fifteen so when did all of this happen? She couldnât have possibly met her soulmate before her eighteenth birthday. Could she? I decided against asking her so it wouldnât seem like I didnât listen to the most important part of her story which was her pain.
âYou wonât have a repeat of that, I promise you. Iâll do everything I can to save us all. I hate seeing you like this Ri. I love you please be strong for us. We are all trying to help you through thisâ I told her silently.
âAnd I appreciate you for that. I didnât think I was going to mean this much to youâ She said with a fats laugh in an attempt to cheer herself up.
âHow could you not mean this much to me. You were my first friend hereâ I kissed her cheek and dragged her with me to the kitchen.
âWhat are you doing?â She asked as she watched me bring out plates and some ingredients.
âIâm going to teach you how to make one of my Mumâs favorite dishesâ I answered.
âReally? What is it?â She asked.
âI donât know what it is called but it is an African dishâ I replied.
âThank youâ She whispered as we started the meal.
âIâm going to need you to boil some slices of yam firstâ I instructed taking the pepper to cut.
âSureâ She said cutting up some slices before boiling them.
Our comfortable silence was disrupted when Henrietta decided to explain my unasked question.
âYou know Iâm surprised you didnât question my storyâ She said suddenly.
âUhm_ I just want to be here for youâ I replied not knowing how to explain. She has been acting differently lately and I donât know what to say to her to make her open up if I donât listen without questioning her.
âWell, being an alphaâs child I truly wanted to be free so I fell in love very young and decided to start a family youngâ She said. I Couldnât help the surprised look on my face.
âAt thirteen?â I guessed looking a little irritated, a lot I hope she didnât catch on.
âStupid I knowâ She said bringing the boiled yam to the counter. I picked the small wooden rod and started squashing the yam in the bowl making it into a paste.
âI know this meal. I loved it as a kidâ Ri had a huge smile. She stared at me with a look of fulfillment which got me confused but like I said she has been behaving like a totally different person so I ignored the look.
âRemember the name?â I asked curiously still making a paste out of the yam.
âNever knew it. You shouldnât make it too softâ She warned. I nodded adding more yam to thicken the past.
âWhatâs going here?â Lucy walked in, her blonde hair wet.
âMaking a special African dishâ I answered her with a smile. She hugged me and gave me a kiss on my cheek. She did the same to Henrietta as she joined us making the meal. When we were finished with making the yam paste like meal Ri helped to make a soup from the pepper and some deer meat.
Ri scooped part of the meal in her hand and tasted it.
âI donât think we made this rightâ She said and we all started laughing.
âIt isnât as thick. Itâs not supposed to be this paste likeâ Ri said.
âI donât think they will careâ Lucy said.
âWe definitely donâtâ Jack and Lucian said walking down the stairs obviously coming from Lucianâs office. They both looked tired.
âWhat is it we are about to get ourselves into?â Jack asked.
âWhatever it is youâre safeâ Lucy said laughing.
âThatâs good to knowâ He smiled at her.
âIf only we knew the name we could search up how to properly make it. I was never with my parents when they made itâ I said a little sad I couldnât make on of my favorite African dish.
âSame hereâ Ri agreed.
While serving Charlotte walked in.
âGood afternoonâ She greeted quickly moving to help. She stared at the food but didnât say anything.
âUhm_ we tried our best but failed at itâ I quickly explained. She acted like she didnât hear and I understood her. She didnât want to correct the âalpha familyâ
âItâs ok to help us Charlotte. Do you know how to make this? I really donât know what itâs called or how itâs made. I just know itâs made from yamâ
âItâs a Nigerian swallow dish called pounded yam. Your process was wrong. Itâs usually pounded and not made like a pasteâ She explained.
âOh. I never knew that. I really thought it was made like a pasteâ I told her.
âOh no itâs fine Luna. Iâm sure itâs not that badâ She tried to make me feel better.
âYou could teach me some timeâ I asked. She nodded.
âOf course Lunaâ
âThank youâ I thanked her.
âI need help to serve this thoughâ I told her with a smile. She returned the smile and helped me serve the meal.
