Chapter 51

Piyu smiled at the text Sam sent her. It has been one week since he came to her house. He was busy with the meetings after that and they couldn't meet.

Piyu, Rads and Sam were happy that at last Jai took a step towards his love life. Jai went to London three days back to get back his love. They all could only hope that Meera would forgive him.

Piyu just came back from work and plopped herself on the sofa. She was missing Sam so much and a single text from him made her smile like an idiot.

She looked up and saw that her dad and brother are coming in talking something with each other seriously. She frowned when she saw her brother came in sulking because usually he will happy to come home to play with Arnav.

" She will not be happy about this." She heard her brother say to her father and her father just sighed loudly.

They both sat on the sofa looking nervous and tensed. Even Piyu's mom and Apoorva also observed their unusual behavior.

" What happened?" Her mom asked frowning.

They both looked up at her and then at Piyu with grimace.

" Papa, you are scaring us. Please tell us what happened?" Piyu asked worried.

" Nothing to be worried princess. It's just a small thing." Her dad smiled at her.

They stayed silent and he continued.

" We went to a meeting today where I met an old friend of mine. We talked for sometime about us and about our family. Then he insisted on a meeting of Piya and his son." His dad said and looked at all of them.

" Meeting?" Piyu frowned.

" Yes princess. It's just that he is interested in you getting married with his son. But I told him that I should ask you first then he said that he just wants you to meet his son for once and afterwards it's our wish." His dad finished.

" What did you say?" Piyu asked cautiously.

" I said yes." He said.

" WHAT! "

He heard yelling from the people he didn't expect....... His wife and daughter in law.

" What did you do? " His wife asked him angrily.

" What happened Leela?" He asked scared at his wife's reaction.

" You are asking me what happened? Don't you know what you did?" She asked raising her voice.

" It's just a meeting Leela, nothing big." He tried to console her.

" Nothing big? You should at least thought of what we think about it." She replied angrily.

Piyu and Aditya were totally taken aback by the whole scene as they never saw their parents fight.

" Ma, it's Ok. We can handle this." Aditya tried to pacify her.

" No! You people don't understand. I have some plans for my daughter." She said clutching her head.

" She is my daughter too!" AJ exclaimed.

" Ma, Papa you both are right in your own way but Papa you should have atleast asked us about that before telling yes to him." Apoorva spoke.

Piyu just sat dumbly there watching her family members argue with each other. It has never happened before and it is now happening because of her.

" I didn't promise him anything. I just agreed for them to meet." AJ said sighing.

He turned towards his daughter who is thinking deeply.

" Piya..... Listen, you will meet him only if you want to. If you don't want to meet then I will say something to my friend and manage." AJ said smiling slightly squeezing her hand.

" I don't want to meet him Papa but I will meet him." Piyu said skeptically.

" What are you saying Piya? " Her mom asked her and all others looked worried.

" It's Ok Ma, it's just a meeting. I will go and meet him for a coffee like a friend. Then we can say that we are not interested." Piyu said to them.

" But you don't need to." Aditya said.

" I need to Bhai. I don't want to fail Papa's words to his friend. It's just a meeting, I will manage." Piyu said smiling.

" Are you sure? " Apoorva asked concerned.

" Yes bhabi." she said.

Everyone looked at Leela who is not at all happy. AJ for once never thought that his wife would react like that especially with him as She was never against him.

" After she met that boy, you will not force her into anything else and you will say to your friend that we are not interested...... Okay." Her mother said looking sternly at her father.

Everyone looked shocked at her.

" I would never force my princess with anything Leela. How can you think like that? " AJ said exasperated.

" I know. Sorry, but I am really not happy with this arrangement." Leela said and sighed.

" Ok don't worry. We will do as you want ok." AJ said looking at his wife and she nodded smiling slightly.

" So, when is this meeting? " Aditya asked.

" Tomorrow." AJ said.

" That's really so soon." Apoorva exclaimed.

" Yeah that's because he is leaving the country for some business deals soon." AJ explained.

" Oh." They said.

" OK so now Piya will go and meet him. Then I should give some reason or an excuse to my friend so that this marriage thought shouldn't go forward. Am I right?" AJ asked looking at all of them raising his eyebrows.

" YES!"

All four of them yelled at him grinning.

Being AJ, the number one businessman, he had some doubts. His family never over reacted to anything like this till today. He was surprised how angry they were at him for saying yes to his friend.

There is something more than that.

His business brain told him.

" Ok I need to ask something." AJ said to his family who looked at him.

" Even before meeting that boy and even before knowing about him or his family, how you people are so sure that Piya will reject him and why you people are so adamant in rejecting this proposal? " AJ questioned them sternly.

Piyu looked away nervously while her mom and bhabi looked at each other and gulped. Aditya predicted something is going on looking at his mother and his wife but doesn't know everything, so he stayed silent.

" Is there something that I should know?" AJ questioned looking pointedly at everyone.

Four of them looked at each other and laughed nervously nodding their heads in no. AJ was not convinced and looked at them narrowing his eyes.

" Oh my God! I totally forgot to put off the stove. The curry must have totally burnt." Saying this Piyu's mom ran off into the kitchen.

" Oh No! I forgot to call Rads. She will kill me if I didn't call her now." Saying this Piyu stormed off upstairs into her room.

" Arey! Arnav is crying. He must be hungry, I should go and feed him." Apoorva said and ran towards her room.

" I have an important presentation tomorrow and I should prepare for that." Aditya also ran away from there taking his laptop bag.

While the great Anand Jaiswal sat stunned in his place at how his family members had ran away leaving him hanging.

Piyu was nervous. She doesn't know if she is doing the right thing by meeting that boy. But She even can't let her dad down before his friend. So she decided that she will just go and talk to him for sometime and leave.

She tried not to think about Sameer as the thought of him was making her more nervous. She knows it's wrong. Keeping someone in her heart and meeting another boy for a propsoal is not right.

Her thoughts wandered to that day when Sam thought that she went to meet a guy for marriage proposal. But she is going now really this time and she can't even imagine Sameer's reaction but tried to think positively.

A knock on her door disturbed her train of thoughts.

" Piya, Are you ready? It's time to go." Apoorva asked with not so interested face.

Piyu just nodded looking down.

" Look, you don't need to go if you don't want to. I will talk to Papa." Apoorva said to her.

" No, I will go. I won't let papa down." Piyu said smiling slightly.

" Did you say to Sameer about this?" She asked.

" No." She whispered.

" What if he comes to know? " She asked.

And all the colour drained from her face.

" He will kill that guy. " Piyu said in fear.

" What? " Apoorva frowned.

" You don't know Bhabi, how possessive he is about me." Piyu said shaking her head.

" But you should tell him Piyu. If he comes to know from anybody else then you will be in trouble." Apoorva tried to convince her.

" No Bhabi if I tell him now then he will not allow me to meet that guy and I can't even imagine what he may do in anger. I will just go and come back soon." Piyu said to her Bhabi.

Her bhabi sighed and they went downstairs.

" Look Piyu, you just come back fast and I will tell my friend that you didn't like that guy or something else ok, don't worry." AJ said worried looking at his daughter's sad face and his wife's glaring face.

" And Adi will join you in the Cafe itself." Her dad assured her kissing her forehead.

Her over protective father and brother didn't want to leave their princess alone with an unknown person.

" Ok papa." Piyu smiled and went to Cafe to meet that guy.

When she was about to enter the Cafe she got a text from Sam asking her what is she doing. She got tensed and thought to leave it unreplied but again she knows how Sam gets worried when she doesn't reply to him. So she texted him back saying that she is in an important meeting and she will call back later.

She sighed in relief when he replied Ok. She took a deep breath and went inside the Cafe.

On the other hand, Sameer was busy with back to back meetings since he came back from Piyu's house. He didn't get chance to meet her or any of his friends.

He didn't even have time to call Piyu and so he just used to send some texts whenever he was free. Today also he messaged her when he got a little free time but she told him that she was busy.

He also there was something off about Rohan as nowadays he doesn't bother him and they didn't even met for a long time. He didn't want to admit but he kind of missing Rohan and his madness.

He sighed rubbing his forehead which is aching and looked outside of his office glass window. It was already evening and his thoughts wandered again to Piyu.

He decided that he would ask her on a date and then confess his feelings as soon as possible. In fact, he thought of asking her today itself if she was free but it seems like she is busy today.

Whenever he thought of confessing his love for her something or the other happens and so he just prayed that nothing should come in between them this time.

The thought of losing her itself makes him go insane.

These thoughts are causing him headache and so he decides to go home. He drove towards his home and on his way, he saw the Cafe from where he likes the coffee very much.

He decides to grab a coffee and head home. He parked his car and entered the Cafe. He went to place his order and waited for his coffee. He looked around and something caught his attention.....rather someone.

He saw Piyu sat on a table with someone and frowned as she told him that she was in a meeting. He moved a little forward towards her and saw she was sitting with some guy.

He stopped breathing for a moment as he saw them. He blinked his eyes to see if it's real or he is imagining things.

It was real.

Jealousy hit him when he saw her laughing at something he said. He didn't like what he saw and he just want to rip that guy's head off. He thought if She had lied to him about the meeting.

He shook his head and thought she must have texted about this meeting only.

Maybe he is some client.

But why are they meeting at a Cafe?

Maybe that stupid client must have insisted to meet in the Cafe.

But why they are laughing and talking?

Maybe he is some friend of hers.

But she didn't mention anyone before.

I too didn't tried to know 2 years life of hers in New York, maybe he is part of it.

Maybe......

He turned when he was called for his order. He shrugged off all the negative thoughts and thought of asking Piyu itself. But for now he decided to get out of the Cafe otherwise he may do something that he might regret later.

He walked out of the door and turned to look at Piyu from the glass door. She was smiling at that man. He gritted his teeth in annoyance and walked towards his car.

" Sameer?"

He heard and turned to see Aditya.

" Hey! Aditya." Sam smiled a little.

" What are you doing here?" Aditya asked.

" I just came to grab a coffee." Sam said showing his coffee.

" And what are you doing here?" Sam asked him curiously.

" I just came here to accompany Piya." Aditya said peeking through the glass door.

" Accompany? For what? " Sam frowned.

" She is here to meet a guy for a marriage proposal and she wanted me to accompany her as I didn't want her to be alone with an unknown guy." Aditya said.

All the breath knocked out of his lungs listening to what Aditya said. He couldn't believe what he just heard. He stood rooted in his place and couldn't utter a word.

" I should go now. I am already late and she will kill me if I don't go now, we will meet later." Saying this Aditya hurried into the Cafe leaving Sam stunned.

He was still processing what Aditya said to him.

Marriage proposal.....

That guy was the neither a friend nor a client.....

She seems happy with all this.....

Why didn't she tell me about this?

Why did she lied to me?

Is she happy with this proposal?

She is smiling and laughing with that person.....

She and her family seems to be okay with all this.....

Did I lost her?...... Again?

He didn't realize that he stood there like a stone until he felt some wetness on his cheeks. He wiped away the tears spilled out from his eyes and stormed away from there in his car.

Maybe my Love for her stays Unrequited...... Forever.
