Forced To Marry The King

It turns out I passed out on the bed from all the crying. I could tell the sun was about to set, and I was still so tired.

I yawned and my maids came running in at that moment. I remembered how awful I looked and turned my head away from them.

One of them began undoing my dress, the other dabbing my face with a cold rag to calm my hot red face but also get the makeup off, and the other began a bath for me.

Nobody said a word as I stepped into the warm bath. It felt good on my skin, also needed. I just laid there letting them wash my hair and skin. When they were finished I stayed in the bath a little longer just wanting to relax and forget about all the chaos and responsibility around me.

When I got out I changed into my silk nightgown, it was a blood red color with silver decals at the top.

I saw Alexander walk into the room and towards me.

"You cannot be so naive, trusting everyone around you will get you killed," Alexander said and began to change. My eyes felt heavy, knowing my body just wanted to sleep.

"Next time I will not be so forgiving, and your punishment will not be pleasant." He said and I just nodded.

"I have a meeting in another kingdom tomorrow, do not do anything stupid like dying, do you understand?" He said the word not so harshly it really showed how mad he would be.

I nodded and the both of us went to the bed for sleep. I saw a red stain on Alexander's clothing he was wearing moments ago. I looked over to see Alexander with no scar or wound, this worried me. I closed my eyes begging for sleep to take over.

I woke up not seeing Alexander next to me. I don't really want to see him though so I was not complaining.

My maids came in getting me ready. Nobody said a word, then again nobody in this kingdom really talks to me except for Alexander.

They did my hair in a nice low bun that was kind of messy, but purposely. A purple dress was slipped on my body, it had lots of white intricate designs. It was gorgeous and didn't show the powerful queen they wanted me to seem like. I looked like myself, a sweet girl who just wants to be kind and liked. Just accepted.

A pair of glass, clear looking heels were slipped on my feet. My maids did very simple and neutral makeup. The last was my crown, apparently I should always wear it no matter what.

I roamed the royal gardens for awhile, it was quite boring being queen.

I heard giggling and I stopped for a moment to see what was going on. 2 children both no older than 10. They were both girls, most likely sisters, and very adorable.

I kneeled down, my dress flowing out around me. I looked at them as they looked at me in awe.

"So what are your names?" I asked smiling. I have always loved little kids.

"I'm Elena, this is Caroline. Your very pretty." Elena said and held her hands shyly. Caroline, who was younger, touched my dress in astonishment.

"Well thank you. If you would like, I can teach you both how to make flower crowns." I suggested as I had nothing to do.

They both nodded quickly. I took their small hands, Elena in my left and Caroline on my right. I needed this happy distraction.

Their mother came and got them awhile after making many flower crowns. The girls made me one made from white roses, it was very good and tight. This made me happy knowing they took in what I taught them.

I was walking down a random golden hallway of the castle. I was kind of lost still not knowing my way around this ginormous castle.

I came across a staircase that grabbed my attention. There were 2 guards blocking the entrance, I was curious because the staircase was the only thing not covered in gold. All the other staircases were.

I headed toward the staircase but the guards spears crossed in front me, making a giant x.

"Excuse me, I would like to enter." I said kindly and softly trying not to come off as harsh, I didn't want to be that kind of queen.

"My queen, apologies, but only certain people are allowed inside," the guard said not looking at me, still straight ahead.

I sighed but nodded and walked away. I walked down the beautiful hallways seeing all the servants and guards.

"My queen, finally, I have been looking all over for you," I heard and saw my teacher, I guess you could call her that, to my left.

"You have a lesson every other day unless excused by the king himself, skipping is unacceptable. Come," She rushed, she was rude and disrespectful, I didn't like that somebody like her was supposed to be teaching me on manners.

I was not looking forward to this lesson.
