Forced To Marry The King
I stood there in shock of what Alexander said. Bethany was to face the death penalty for treason. What she did was horrible but couldn't there be any other way. Life in the dungeons instead, perhaps? I can't sit by and let Bethany be killed on trial.
I ran out of the room to find out where Alexander was going. I stood in one spot in shock for so long I don't have the slightest clue to where he is.
I stopped to think of where he could have gone. He was furious and usually goes to his study to calm down. He was too angry, more lethal, and deadly than ever so sometimes he goes to the training grounds. He could have called a meeting with the council since the princess did commit treason. They took Bethany away to the dungeons, he would take his anger out on her perhaps.
I went with what my gut was telling me and headed to the dungeons only to be blocked off by some guards.
"My lady we were given strict instructions to not let you enter," the guard stated without even a glance my way.
"I must enter," I said trying to move to the side and get around them.
"My lady you cannot enter," the other stated more harshly.
"What is the meaning of this?" A voice said, which I recognized as the captain of one of the sections of the army.
"I need to go down there, now," I said bravely to the captain.
"My lady, I was sent by the king to escort you to his majesty's office," he said and gestured his hand out to the direction of Alexander's study.
"But I need to see him, " I told the guard in a desperate manner because that's what I was, desperate.
"I was given strict orders, my lady. Please this way," a part of me wanted to continue to argue and get past these guards one way or another, but another part of me just couldn't.
I headed towards Alexander's office with the guard not far behind me. He stood by the door while I sat on the sofa. I was tired and had a headache with everything that happened.
Suddenly Alexander stormed in slamming the door open causing me to jump.
"Out," Alexander said harshly and the guard left without another word being said.
"Alexander please..."
"NO!"
He yelled and threw everything off his desk. Including the papers, ink, glass, and so much more important things.
"I have become to lenient with you. You have been attacked, disobeyed me, and caused so much insufferable drama. No more,"
"From this day forward, you will do as I say, go wherever I go, and that's it. No more going off by yourself, seeing the staff, and doing as you please," Alexander said and looked me dead in the eye waiting for me to argue.
I didn't because I was to focused on the fact that I just lost every single freedom I cherished.
