Chapter 220
I’ll Be The Warrior’s Mother
âShut up.â
Yelena put all her weight on her heel to step on the Holy Sword. Then, she looked at Thomas, worry written all over her face.
âThomas, are you okay?â
ââ¦I-Iâm okay. I was just surprised, so you donât need to worry about me.â
âYou were so surprised your legs lost strength?â
âI was just exaggerating.â
Sweat dripped down Thomasâs forehead profusely. Anyone could tell that he wasnât exaggerating.
[Wow, his pain tolerance is great.]
âShut your mouth.â
[I donât have a mouthâ¦]
âDo you want me to trample you with my foot until sunrise?â
The Holy Sword went quiet. Yelena sighed softly.
âIâm sorry, Thomas. This sword⦠is an Ego Sword. I didnât know it functioned like this.â
âDonât be sorry, Iâm okay! Donât worry about me!â
âYou should go see Dockter.â
Thomas shook his head. âIâm really oâ¦â
âThatâs an order.â
ââ¦â
âIâll call Dockter, so make sure you go and get checked.â
ââ¦Understood.â
After that, Yelena sent the three knights back. She looked down at the Holy Sword with an unsavory look.
[You worry too much. I didnât cause any particular injuries to your knight. Heâs just a little hurt, thatâs all. Actually, not âjust a littleâ¦â kind of a lot?]
Yelena didnât respond. She thought that she might forget that that sword was the Holy Sword and throw it out the window if she continued talking to it.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âKaywhin.â
âYes, Yelena.â
âAbout the Holy Sword. By the looks of it⦠I think youâre the only person who can handle it.â
Kaywhin nodded. He had also seen Thomas clutching his arm in pain.
âCan I leave the Holy Sword in your care for the time being?â
âOf course.â
[I donât mind staying in the storage room. Itâs spacious, clean, and cozy.]
âAnd please keep it a secret that Iâve awoken the Holy Swordâs power, to the knights as well.â
âI agree. Nothing good will come from more people knowing about it.â
[Um⦠Are you acting like my voice doesnât exist?]
Yelena ignored the voice in her head with a calm expression.
âMoreover, considering the timing of the demon invasion, I feel like itâs a little early for the Holy Swordâs power to have awakened already⦠Well, it probably doesnât matter.â
[Invasion? Invasion, you say. Does something happen in the future, by any chance?]
âWell then, why donât we make our way to the dining room to eat? Weâll look for a sheath for the Holy Sword after we eat.â
âVery well.â
The couple lovingly held hands and left the bedroom.
The Holy Sword was left all alone on the bedroom floor.
[â¦Hmph.]

Inside a quiet bedroom, a woman, as pallid as a corpse, laid completely still in bed with her eyes closed. Her light golden hair, which had lost its shine and was now brittle, spread around her head.
A man stood in the room, watching as a doctor silently examined the woman. Then he asked, âIs there any improvement?â
âYoung Master.â
The doctor removed his hand that was checking the womanâs pulse and pushed his glasses up.
âHer pulse is faint⦠but her breathing is stable and her complexion is improving slowly.â
âThis is improving? She still looks like a corpse.â
âShe was much paler at first compared to now.â
The man looked at the womanâs blue lips. When he had first arrived, her lips had been purple.
âI thought she was really dead back then.â
The man watched the woman quietly and then turned around.
âIf thereâs any sign that sheâll gain consciousness, let me know immediately.â
âYes, understood.â
The man left the bedroom and walked through the corridor. Then, he ran into a tall young man who was coming from the opposite direction.
âYoung Master Ovell,â the tall young man, Michael, said after bowing in greeting to the man. âHow is Lady Rebecca?â
After Rebecca had failed to kidnap Yelena in the dressing room in the capital, her subordinate, Michael, had taken her and fled.
âMichael! Escape from here at once⦠Agh!â
âY-Young Miss!â
They had been struck severely by Sidrionâs magic when they had attempted to escape from the dressing room. Both of them had sustained serious injuries, to the extent that pieces of their entrails were mixed in the blood they left pools of.
But Michael held Rebecca and ran all night in that state, escaping the capital before a siege was formed.
He wasnât human, after all.
To be precise, after drinking blood that Rebecca had given him several times, his body became one that could not be considered human. He had monstrous recuperative powers, which allowed him to heal completely from the injuries he had sustained.
But Rebecca was different.
