“Do you still want to go looking for someone else’s phone?”

After the kiss ended, Mo Xiuchen’s deep eyes were filled with fervor as he gazed intently at the woman panting in his arms.

“No.”

Wen Ran surrendered with a coquettish laugh, his hand still resting on her waist.

How dared she provoke him anymore? If she did, the only one who would suffer was herself.

Mo Xiuchen smirked in satisfaction, “I’ll make a call to Ah Kai for you.”

Wen Ran nodded, watching him dial Gu Kai’s number. She took this opportunity to calm her tumultuous emotions. When Gu Kai’s voice sounded, she cheerfully called out, “Older Brother Gu!”

Shortly after her birthday, Wen Ran began to call Gu Kai ‘older brother’, but soon she felt that it might confuse the relationship between him and Wen Jin, as they were dating. Furthermore, her identity wasn’t public, so she decided to go back to calling him Older Brother Gu as before.

“Ranran, aren’t you secretly calling me behind Xiuchen’s back?” Gu Kai’s voice came through clear and cheerful. Wen Ran lightly laughed, “Yes, Xiuchen forbids me from calling you guys, so I stole his phone.”

“Haha, judging by your tone, you must be having a lot of fun out there. When will you be back?”

Gu Kai’s hearty laughter echoed from the other end, as magnetic and pleasing as a warm spring breeze, elevating the mood of the listener.

Wen Ran replied with a smile, “I don’t know yet, the scenery here is too beautiful, and there are too many delicious things to eat and play. I’m reluctant to leave.”

“Enjoy a few more days then. It’s rare for you to take a break, especially with Xiuchen accompanying you, we all feel at ease.” Gu Kai didn’t rush her to come back. It had only been a few days since they had left G City, where matters had not yet entirely settled, and were developing towards another climax. He hoped they would stay away and have fun for two or three more months.

After all, the night Mo Xiuchen took Wen Ran away, they also took some traditional Chinese medicine with them.

These past few days, even though they were in Bali Island, they never forgot to take their medicine.

Wen Ran advised him because Bai Xiaoxiao had been injured because of her in the past. She didn’t want any sequential injuries to Bai Xiaoxiao’s leg.

“I understand. Ah Feng has offended Bai Xiaoxiao’s mother, but it should be okay after some time.”

In fact, Gu Kai didn’t want to pay too much attention to Bai Xiaoxiao, especially after Luo Haofeng had said those words on Ranran’s birthday, he had been intentionally avoiding her.

“I drove myself here.” Gu Kai frowned slightly. Luo Haofeng brushed it off, “We can have someone drive you home later, just relax.”

Gu Kai smiled, accepting the glass, casually mentioning, “Ranran just called me.”

“Wen Ran contacted you?” On the side, Qin Mu’s eyes changed slightly. Concern slipped from his lips and he sat up straight, raising his glass to clang it against Gu Kai’s.

“Yes, after all these days, she finally remembered to contact me.” Gu Kai’s smile was full of pride and satisfaction. Ever since he acknowledged Wen Ran, this had always been his expression when talking about her.

A stark contrast to his loss of over twenty years.

“Look at you, all smug.” Luo Haofeng bluntly interrupted, downing the remaining half glass of liquor in one gulp.

Qin Mu also finished his drink but didn’t put down the glass. Instead, he held it in his hand, resting his tall figure back onto the couch, lowering his eyelids to stare at the empty glass casually asking, “Are they still in Bali Island?”

Gu Kai ignored Luo Haofeng’s ‘jealousy’, answering with a smile, “Yes, they’re still in Bali Island. Ranran said the scenery there is too beautiful and she can’t bear to leave. I told her to play for a few more days. She sent me several photos, she’s much more generous than that fellow Xiuchen.”

While speaking, Gu Kai took out his phone and leaned into Qin Mu, “These are all photos taken by Ranran at different locations in Bali. She’s smiling so brightly.”

Gu Kai was full of excitement as if he was showing off a precious treasure. Even though Luo Haofeng ‘disapproved’ of his boasting, he still leaned in to take a look.

Qin Mu watched the photos of Wen Ran’s stunning and radiant smile, her hair dancing in the wind against the beautiful scenery. The photo was so beautiful that it almost didn’t seem real. Some emotion was stirring within him, uncontrollably swirling around.

“Beautiful, isn’t she? Those women standing beside her don’t compare to Ranran.”

Gu Kai’s eyes were full of laughter. To him, whether they were blonde bombshells or oriental women, none of them were as beautiful and captivating as Wen Ran.

“Self-praise.”

Although Luo Haofeng ridiculed him, he too felt that compared to Wen Ran, those women fell short. He frowned, feeling as if he was influenced by Gu Kai and Mo Xiuchen, therefore having such thoughts. Unable to resist, he nudged the Qin Mu sitting beside him with his elbow, “Ah Mu, what do you think?”

Qin Mu’s gaze was as serene as water, his voice deep and indifferent, devoid of Gu Kai’s pride and Luo Haofeng’s deliberate tease, “Xiuchen’s taste is the best.”

Just one word ‘best’ made Gu Kai’s smile and satisfaction magnify infinitely.

He didn’t directly praise Wen Ran for being more beautiful than those women, but indirectly conveyed his opinion – those women do not match up to her.

Xiuchen’s taste is the best, so the woman he loves is also the best, unique, and special.

The fact that she could still smile so bright and pure in Bali Island, despite the chaos in G City, made her seem unreal.

Seeing that pure and bright smile at this moment, made him feel that rushing back from a long distance and the hardships of these days were all worth it.

“Ah Mu, your statement was too classic, Xiuchen’s taste indeed is the best. Over these many years, he didn’t fancy any woman, yet he fell in love with Ranran at first sight and couldn’t forget about her.”

“Has Uncle Gu found a treatment plan for Wen Ran’s illness yet?”

Qin Mu withdrew his gaze, lowered his head, and placed the glass on the table.

Gu Kai put his phone back in his pocket and said solemnly, “Not yet.”
