Chapter 453: There will never be that day
Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict
âAlright, then letâs drink it together.â
Mo Xiuchen held her hand and walked to the sofa. He handed her a bowl of medicine, then picked up another for himself.
Wen Ran gave him a soft smile, tilted her head back, and gulped down the medicine before setting the bowl aside.
Mo Xiuchen set down his bowl a second before her, ready with a piece of candy to give her. He reached out to wipe the medicine residue from her mouth corners. âRanran, rest a while in the room. Iâll go out and buy something for you.â
She always felt uneasy during her period. Though she hadnât complained of a stomach ache that night, Mo Xiuchen, being considerate, didnât want her to tire herself out.
Because her cycle was irregular, he couldnât predict the exact day. They had spent the previous days playing nearby and didnât venture far.
âIâm fine.â
If they were home, she wouldnât mind, but here, Wen Ran hesitated to have him, a grown man, buying sanitary products for her. Regardless, Mo Xiuchen didnât mind at all. He lightly brushed her cheek, and in a commanding but gentle voice, said, âNot only tonight, but for the next few days, do as I say. Rest well, donât eat or touch anything cold, donât tire yourself out. Leave everything to me.â
Wen Ran felt both touched and amused looking at Mo Xiuchen. âYouâre spoiling me. What will I do if you ever tire of me and refuse to do all this?â
âThat day will never come.â
Mo Xiuchen set his face sternly as he feigned seriousness.
Wen Ran gave in to his commanding tenderness. âAlright, Iâll lie down for a while. Will you really be okay going by yourself to buy them?â
âThis isnât the first time Iâve bought it for you.â
With that remark, Mo Xiuchen silenced Wen Ran. She recalled a night shortly after their wedding when her period came abruptly while he was kissing her.
Back then, there were no feelings between them, but he was willing to buy her sanitary products personally. He chastised her when he saw she had done the laundry.
âWhat are you thinking about?â
Mo Xiuchen looked at her thoughtful expression and asked softly.
Wen Ranâs eyes glinted as she smiled. âNothing, you go. Iâll wait for you in the room.â
âAlright, be good and wait in the bed.â Mo Xiuchen left the room with a teasing remark, leaving to buy sanitary items for her.
For the next few days, Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran didnât go anywhere else. They simply strolled around the hotel vicinity. Mo Xiuchen kept a close eye on Wen Ran, ensuring she didnât overexert during her period.
He even washed her undergarments by hand.
After staying at the hotel for a while, everyone, from other tourists to staff, recognized Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran. Seeing them entering and exiting the hotel, hand in hand, everyone shot them envious glances.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
One evening, as Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran were taking a beach stroll hand in hand, they bumped into the hotel owner. The sixty-year-old woman was a kind old lady who greeted them warmly in her broken Mandarin, âMr. Mo, Mrs. Mo, taking a walk again?â
Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran nodded and smiled. The old lady watched their interlocked hands. With a look of envy and admiration, she asked in a lowered voice, âMr. Mo, Mrs. Mo, may I ask you something thatâs been puzzling me?â
âPlease go ahead.â
Wen Ran had a soft, gentle smile on her beautiful face. As the breeze blew strands of her hair onto Mo Xiuchenâs chin, he raised his hand to brush them aside. His hand then stayed, holding her hair down at the nape of her neck.
âI see you both are healthy and in love, always smiling. It makes me wonder why you both drink medicine every day, and why you do it together?â
âOf course, if itâs inconvenient, never mind.â The old lady laughed after saying this.
Mo Xiuchen smiled slightly, gazing at Wen Ranâs eyes, radiating calmness as he replied, âThereâs nothing inconvenient about it. The one who actually needs medicine is me. My wife simply accompanies me.â
The old lady looked astonished at Mo Xiuchenâs words.
Knowing her Mandarin wasnât fluent, Mo Xiuchen explained in fluent local language in case she didnât understand or misunderstood. The old lady praised him in the local language for having such a good wife.
âYes, I also think, my wife is the best woman in the world.â Without any modesty, Mo Xiuchen claimed, as his hand trailed down from the nape of her neck to her shoulder. Pulling her slightly, he brought her into his hold.
The old lady chatted with Mo Xiuchen for another two minutes in the local language, which Wen Ran didnât understand. Still, she smiled at their conversation. From Mo Xiuchenâs proud look, she could guess that the old lady was probably saying things he liked to hear.
âWhat were you talking about?â
Wen Ran asked once the old lady had left.
âThe owner said sheâs very touched. She wants to offer us free accommodation and food so we can stay here longer. From tomorrow onwards, we wonât have to pay for meals and lodging. Ranran, you can stop worrying now. We can stay as long as we want.â
Mo Xiuchen looked content with the charming smile on his alluring face. Although he wasnât short of money, he was more than happy and proud that the old lady was moved by his and Ranranâs love story and offered them a free stay.
He wished the whole world knew he got the best wife.
Wen Ran looked surprised. âReally?â
Mo Xiuchen bent down and planted a kiss on her face. âAll credits to you. The old lady was moved by you. She said youâre the nicest girl she has ever met. She told me to cherish you and to never bully you. Ranran, why didnât I realize youâre so likable before?â
âI didnât know either.â
Wen Ran laughed softly. She turned to look at the old lady walking away. It wasnât her who moved the old lady, but the old lady who moved her.
âRanran, it looks like I need to watch over you more closely. Itâs fine for an old lady like that to like you, but itâd be troublesome if you attract some bees.â
Although he said so, Mo Xiuchenâs eyes twinkled with pride. It wasnât evident that he was scared of anyone admiring his Ranran. Those admirers wouldnât pose a threat to him.
Most importantly, in Ranranâs heart, there was only him.
He was so clear about this. Regardless of how many people admired his Ranran, she wouldnât spare a glance at them.
Wen Ran rolled her eyes at him and laughed. âLetâs stop our stroll and return. If we donât go out, no one can see me and you wonât fear Iâll be stolen away.â
âWho dares to steal my wife?â Mo Xiuchen scanned their surroundings with fake resentment. Before Wen Ran could reply, he couldnât help but laugh again. âRanran, are you tired? If you are, letâs return.â
