“Ranran, promise me, don’t leave me.”

It was not until Wen Ran could hardly breathe that Mo Xiuchen finally let her go.

He slid his large palm down, resting it on her shoulder, his eyes burning hot, staring intently at her.

His voice was deep, filled with unease and fear. He was so scared.

For the kiss just now, she was forced to endure it without responding to him. Although he kissed her passionately and deeply, it had nothing to do with desire.

As Wen Ran lowered her head to take out her mobile phone, a dim light flashed in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes. He slowly let her go, sat up straight, and drove on.

Even though she consciously ignored him, Wen Ran could still feel the heavy sense of loneliness emitting from him. Her heart tightened, and the grip on her phone unconsciously tightened as well.

The call was from her brother, Wen Jin.

Wen Ran deliberately started a conversation, chatting with Wen Jin for more than ten minutes, until Aston parked in the villa garage, and Mo Xiuchen stopped the car. Only then did she hang up the phone.

Mo Xiuchen did not mention his earlier remarks again, he walked into the living room and nonchalantly said: “Ranran, you rest for a while, I’ll go prepare dinner.”

He glanced at Wen Ran sitting not far away, got up, walked away from his desk, and only then pressed the answer button: “Hello!”

When Wen Ran looked up, she met his gaze. He gave her a smile, talking on the phone while striding to the door, opening the door, and exiting the office.

As the door to the office closed, Wen Ran blinked her eyes, then lowered her head to continue her work. Outside the office, Mo Xiuchen walked into the guest room next door, listening to Lu Zhiyan telling him that they had arrived in G City.

“The drug Ah Kai was researching last time is ready. You can try it. I’ll have him send it to the police station.”

Mo Xiuchen pondered. The drug was specifically developed for people like Wu Tianyi and Xiao Wenqing, they had not tried it on them yet, they didn’t know what the effect would be, but it was worth a try.
