Chapter 669: He misses me.
Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict
Wen Ran received a call from Qin Mu an hour later.
Qin Mu and Mo Xiuchen had already returned to the hospital.
She was still sitting in the café across the hospital, at the same spot. Facing the window, she was staring thoughtfully at the hospitalâs inpatient building.
âWen Ran, Xiuchen wants to go back to our country.â
When she heard Qin Muâs words, Wen Ran thought she had misheard.
Her expression remained blank for a moment, her long eyelashes trembled. When her brain processed the information and understood his meaning, her eyes widened in shock: âWhat is he going back for?â
Although he was a street away just now, she couldnât see his expression clearly, but she could tell he had lost weight and didnât look as energized as usual. She had heard his suffering over the phone and knew it was his illness tormenting him.
âWe already have evidence of collusion between Liao Dongxing and Fu Jingyi. He wants to go back to negotiate with Liao Dongxing personally and find Fu Jingyi,â
Qin Mu explained briefly over the phone. He called Wen Ran while Mo Xiuchen was away to see Gu Yan.
The main reason Mo Xiuchen insisted on going back was not entirely to negotiate with Liao Dongxing, but to see Wen Ran.
In fact, for Mo Xiuchen, what hurt him the most wasnât the increasing physical pain, but the constant longing that gnawed at his heart like ants, with a fear of forgetting his beloved girl. Thatâs what he couldnât stand.
Far more painful than the physical pain, hundreds, thousands, or even tens of thousands times over, he could endure physical pain, but not the torment of missing her.
âWen Ran, why donât you call him and talk to him? Xiuchen isnât as healthy as before. Iâm afraid he wonât be able to handle the back and forth.â
Wen Ran didnât respond, she just gazed quietly at the building across the way.
Her face had already returned to its calm state. On her beautifully pale cheeks, there was no trace of sadness, let alone the shock from earlier. Under the sunlight, her flawless skin was as precious as jade, her eyes calm as water. Her voice was gentle and slow: âQin Mu, let Xiuchen go back.â
âWen Ran!â
Qin Mu couldnât understand Wen Ranâs decision.
He thought that Wen Ran wouldnât agree to let Mo Xiuchen go back to their country after seeing him just now.
But now, she was actually suggesting with a gentle tone that he should go back. Was she not afraid that he wouldnât be able to handle all the back-and-forth?
Wen Ran pursed her lips and said softly, âQin Mu, if Xiuchen wants to go back, let him. Itâs not because he wants to see Liao Dongxing, he misses me. He wants to come back to see me.â
On the other end of the phone, Qin Muâs grip on the mobile tightened.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
He couldnât quite describe what he was feeling. How much did Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran love and understand each other?
Mo Xiuchen could sense her presence without even seeing her. When Mo Xiuchen rushed across the street to find Wen Ran in the morning, his heart was in his throat.
Later, when Mo Xiuchen suggested going to the café, he was even more worried that he would go to the second floor. Thankfully, he didnât go up to the second floor.
Now, Wen Ranâs words complicated his feelings further. She clearly understood Mo Xiuchenâs genuine intention to go back more than anyone else and could even calmly state, âHeâs coming back to see me because he misses me.â
He couldnât see her expression at the moment, but his heart tightened for her understanding of Mo Xiuchen. Maybe she felt that flying over the Pacific Ocean to see him was too daring, so it would be better to let him come back and see her once.
That should alleviate their longing for each other. Maybe Mo Xiuchen would change his mind and let her stay by his side.
Thinking about this, a thought flashed across Qin Muâs mind, too quickly for him to grasp, causing him to furrow his brows. âWen Ran, when are you going back?â
He didnât try to convince her anymore. Like Mo Xiuchen, Wen Ran wouldnât be swayed by othersâ persuasion.
âHave you booked the flight yet?â
As Wen Ran asked, the thought of soon being able to openly meet him, rather than sneakily watching him, made her heart beat increasingly faster.
For the first time in her life, she truly understood what âpain and pleasureâ meant.
âNot yet, Xiuchen has gone to see Uncle Gu. Maybe Uncle Gu wonât agree to him going back. Iâll book the flight after their discussion.â
âThen Iâll go to the airport now and take the earliest flight back home.â
Wen Ran switched her phone to her other hand and pulled out her wallet to pay.
âMaybe Uncle Gu can persuade Xiuchen to abandon his plans to go back.â
Qin Mu still held on to a glimmer of hope. He felt that it would be better for Xiuchen to stay here for treatment than going back.
However, Wen Ran laughed. Her voice was filled with a hint of pride in her understanding of Mo Xiuchen, âQin Mu, nobody, not even my dad, can persuade Xiuchen. I think, itâs not necessarily a bad thing for Xiuchen to go back.â
As she said this, her voice paused slightly. Qin Mu heard her say something to the waiter, then heard a faint sound which seemed to be footsteps.
Her voice came again, even more softly than before: âEspecially when I saw Xiuchen run across the street to find me. I think, seeing me after he goes back would at least alleviate his internal suffering.â
âAlright, just be careful since youâre alone.â
Qin Mu didnât know what to say anymore. After hearing Wen Ranâs words, he thought the only thing he could do was to take Mo Xiuchen back home, let them meet each other and find Fu Jingyi.
âYes, I will be careful. Xiuchenâs health is not as good as before, he canât bear a nearly twenty-hour flight. Qin Mu, donât book a direct flight. Letâs switch flights twice, resting for a day every few hours.â
As Wen Ran stepped out of the café, she was met with the warm scent of sunlight. A faint smile appeared on her lips.
âI got it. Donât worry, I wonât let anything happen to Xiuchen.â
âWith you there, Iâm of course reassured. Iâm heading to the airport now. Since youâre with Xiuchen, I wonât call you anymore. Iâll just send you a message.â
âOkay!â
Qin Mu, with his tall figure, stood in front of the window. Through the glass, he saw Wen Ran hail a cab and get in. The cab quickly drove away.
His thin lips slightly pursed, a trace of unknowing warmth on his handsome face. However, his deep black eyes were covered with a faint layer of sadness. He was afraid that he could never erase her from his heart for the rest of his life.
âAh Mu!â
He didnât know how long he had been standing there until he heard Mo Xiuchenâs voice from behind. Qin Mu came back to his senses, immediately hiding his emotions, and looked towards the man walking towards him with narrow eyes.
Without asking, he could tell from his sudden cheerful appearance that Wen Ran was right. Her father couldnât persuade, let alone stop him from going back.
