Chapter 780: 779 The person he wants to see
Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict
An Lin and Wen Ran went downstairs together, An Lin was headed towards home while Wen Ran headed to the airport to pick up Mo Xiuchen.
On the way, Wen Ran received a call from Qin Mu, he simply said, âRanran, I heard Mo Xiuchen has arrived in City C. Please be careful and drive safely. Donât rush.â
Not wishing to distract her while she was driving, he hung up shortly after expressing his concern.
Wen Ran was not speeding, but her emotions were fluctuating and she couldnât calm herself down. Whenever she thought of Mo Xiuchen waiting for her at the airport, she felt strangely complex.
Although Mo Xiuchen doesnât remember her, heâs back after all.
Thinking back to the prevailing scenes of him enduring excruciating pain in secret, transferring the virus into his body in order to save her, barely clutching the steering wheel, Wen Ranâs hands clenched fiercely.
...
In reality, it really didnât matter if Mo Xiuchen remembered her or not.
What mattered more to her was that he was well, alive, and healthy. Even though he had lost his memory of her, how could she not feel satisfied by that gesture?
In comparison to Cheng Jia, she realized how lucky she was.
Although Wen Ranâs emotions were in turmoil, she dared not to be careless. She reached the airport, parked her car, and took a couple of deep breaths before getting out. She then pulled out her mobile phone and dialed a number.
After two rings, Mo Xiuchenâs voice came through the signal, âRanran.â
âWhere are you? Iâm at the airport.â
âI see you. Stay where you are, Iâll come to you,â came Mo Xiuchenâs voice, mixed with some background noise. Wen Ran looked around in surprise, and finally spotted his tall and handsome figure among the crowd.@@novelbin@@
In that instant, Wen Ranâs heartbeat paused, her eyes focused on him and she couldnât tear her gaze away.
Grasping her phone tightly, she stood still, unable to move a step, her eyes glued to the man walking towards her.
The light hit his expertly carved features, highlighting their depth and detail. Among the crowd, his elegance, upright stature, and noble demeanor stood out notably.
Watching him approach step by step, Wen Ranâs thoughts became chaotic. She felt excessively excited, but dared not reveal it. A tiny smile emerged on her face, her gaze still lightly locked onto him.
Mo Xiuchen had a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth, and it continued to spread into his profound eyes. As he got closer, Wen Ran could smell his familiar yet refreshing scent.
He finally stood before her.
His tall figure cast a shadow on her, enveloping her in it.
He paused, the smile at the corners of his mouth deepening, as he looked intently at her, barely parting his lips to say, âRanran.â
His voice was so tender that it brought tears to Wen Ranâs heart. She could barely control her emotions, her composure almost cracked by it.
She gently pressed her lips together, managing a slight smile: âLetâs go, Iâd like to take you out for a meal.â
It required unfathomable courage for her to curb the urge to throw herself into his arms when he called her âRanranâ in his velvety and warm tone.
From the moment she spotted him in the crowd, she felt time had stopped, her world had turned oblivious to everything else apart from him. As he made his way towards her, it seemed as though a lifetime had passed.
Mo Xiuchen let out a low, contented sound of laughter, happily replying, âAlright!â
He opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat.
After making sure he was settled, Wen Ran opened the car door and got into the driverâs seat.
After closing the car door, the familiar, refreshing scent of him became more prominent, her heartbeat accelerated, and her grip on the seatbelt tightened unconsciously.
From the corner of her eye, Mo Xiuchen was already buckled in, sitting at a slight angle, with a hint of laughter in his eyes. He watched her warmly, as though they had known each other for a lifetime.
âWhat would you like to eat?â
Wen Ran couldnât bear the sight of his deep and gentle gaze. As she fastened her seatbelt, she quickly glanced over at him, promptly averting her gaze, she rested her hands on the steering wheel.
âRanran, why havenât you asked me, why I came to City C?â
As Mo Xiuchen looked leisurely at her, he noticed that this young woman was trying hard to control her emotions. He could see she was very excited by his sudden visit, but, she tried to mask it by maintaining her calmness.
She drove to the airport late at night to pick him up. When they met, it was clear she was thrilled, but she never addressed him by his name.
Mo Xiuchen was curious and felt a little heartache simultaneously.
Wen Ran paused, glancing at him in surprise.
Meeting his gaze, she tried hard not to divert her gaze, and answered with a smile, âYou canât have come to City C just for this meal, right?â
âRanran, yes, I did,â Mo Xiuchen replied, candid and clear about his intentions.
He leaned slightly towards Wen Ran, his smile becoming more pronounced. His magnetic voice rang out in the confined space of the car: âI mentioned wanting you to take me out for a meal. And here I am in G City, just as you arrive in City C. Since there wasnât anyone I specifically wanted to see in G City, I came here to see you instead.â
Wen Ran was caught off guard. She was easily moved by his words. He said he didnât have anyone in G City whom he wanted to see, so he came to see her here.
Did that mean she was someone he wanted to see?
She didnât dare to ask. Her smile froze on her face momentarily at his words, but she regained her composure, turned to him and asked calmly, âSo, what do you feel like eating?â
âI donât mind anything. Itâs late now, so why donât we have something youâd like for supper?â
Mo Xiuchen was indifferent about the choice of food. What he really wanted to know was what she liked to eat.
Surprised, Wen Ran blinked at Mo Xiuchenâs open-minded proposition and then smiled, âWhy donât we go have some barbecue?â
âOkay.â
Mo Xiuchen saw a fleeting hint of mischief in her eyes, his own narrowed in response, and he leaned back into his seat, and nodded his head in agreement.
Mo Xiuchen didnât like junk food like steak before he lost his memory. Wen Ran remembered that once she had gone out for a barbeque meal with her brother, Gu Kai. Mo Xiuchen had joined them later. Even though he had eaten, it was clear he didnât enjoy it much.
He had come all the way to City C late at night, insisting she treat him to a meal and his every word seemed to gently taunt her. She thought, why couldnât she tease him a little too?
Upon hearing his agreement, Wen Ran didnât say anything more but merely smiled warmly, and started the car.
Throughout the journey, Mo Xiuchen was quiet, his gaze fixed on her. Wen Ran was completely focused on driving. Just like the old times, even though it was peaceful, the atmosphere in the car was warm and tranquil.
