Fall of Snow: Chapter 62
Fall of Snow: A Dark Mafia Romance (Frost Industries Book 3)
The moment the line goes dead, Storm and I look at each other, the dread on his face mirroring the emotion raging through my veins. This canât be happening.
âGet them back on the phone,â he snaps.
I dial Snowâs number again, but it goes straight to voice mail. âTheyâve jammed the signal.â
âFuck!â he roars.
Iâve already had my freak out, itâs only fair I give him a few moments to do the same. I try Snow a few more times, but to no avail. I sigh and scroll down to my cousin. He needs to know whatâs going on, even if he is going to lose his fucking mind as soon as he hears his woman and child are in danger.
âElijah,â he greets me.
âWhy do you sound out of breath?â I ask. It doesnât matter, but itâs distracting me from the panic clawing in my chest.
âRayne and I were working out, whatâs up?â
I let out a long breath. âI need you to not freak out until I finish talking.â
Silence greets me on the other end of the line before he finally replies, âElijah, what the fuck is going on?â
âWynter decided the only way to get Snow out of her funk was to bring her hereââ
âShe did what?â he growls.
âThereâs more. On their way here, they were followed, and weâve just lost contact with them.â I could sugarcoat it, but what good would that do us at this point? He needs to know his woman is in danger, and that we have no way to contact them, and thereâs no way to break the brunt of that hit.
A roar fills the other end of the line, followed by a series of loud bangs before the line goes dead.
âThat went well,â I mutter before returning my focus to Storm who has started pacing up and down the length of the office. The tension in his shoulders and jaw is so tight Iâm afraid he might snap something if he doesnât release it soon, but I donât see that happening. âI need your phone.â I hold my hand out as he passes me, never faltering in his steps. âWe need to know how far out Tommy is,â I say on his next pass, but he doesnât pause. Instead he continues toward the far wall before turning back again. This time he does pull his phone from his pocket and shoves it at me on his way past.
I quickly unlock the phone and dial the most recent number. âYou should really put a passcode on this thing,â I tell him as ringing fills my ear. The moment the call connects, Iâm speaking. âWhere are you?â
Tommy huffs at the sound of my voice, but Iâve never known the crazy fuck to hesitate before speaking, which tells me everything I need to know before the words fill the line. âThere was an accident. Wynter and Snow are both missing.â
I tighten my hold on the phone, the sound of the metal creaking under my hold only makes anger burn brighter. Not only do we not know who the fuck is coming after us, but now they have two of our women.
âThe crash site is fresh. They must have got the girls out of the car and taken off in the last few minutes, but thereâs no way for me to tell which way theyâve gone.â
âTrackers?â I force the word through my clenched jaw.
âJammed. Iâve tried tapping into Wynterâs engagement ring and itâs coming up with nothing.â
âThey were using a signal jammer to stop them from calling for help. Maybe they havenât turned it off yet.â
âThat could be it. What do you want me to do?â he asks.
Storm snatches the phone from my hand. âHow banged up is the car? Is there blood?â
âThe car did exactly what Everett designed it to do and took the brunt of the impact. There was a little blood on the dash on the passenger side, but apart from that I think both girls are okay.â
Storm and I let out a collective sigh of relief. âHead back to the estate and keep an eye on the trackers. I want to know the second one of them comes back up.â
âYou got it, boss.â
I drop into my seat and allow my eyes to drift over the cameras I was watching Snow on half an hour ago and the anger grows hotter, burning me from the inside out. I have to get my woman back, but I canât do that if I donât know where she is.
âTheyâll be okay,â Storm murmurs. âThey have to be okay.â
