Sunlight rays shone brightly on my face, making me squint in my sleep before I eventually opened my eyes. To my surprise, I was met with a wide awake Adrian who was watching me intently with a smile on his face.

“Good morning, my beautiful mate“, he greeted before grinning widely at me which resulted in my cheeks having a striking resemblance to a very ripe tomato.

I hid my face in my pillow when he chuckled at my face. “You shouldn’t hide from me“, he said, “you look f**king pretty right now and it’s taking a whole lot of strength to prevent Daxon from taking over“, I looked at him in confusion.

“Why? Does he want to speak to Lola?” At this question, my wolf jumped in excitement in my head and I had to plead with her before she calmed down. It was too early in the morning to be having headache, I had enough yesterday.

Adrian spoke up, “yes, he wants to talk to Lola but he wants to talk to you first. I apologize for anything he might do in advance“. Just then, his eyes changed from its right green and left hazel eyes to a darker shade of left green and right hazel eyes signifying that Daxon was in control.

I did not wait around to see what would happen next, I rushed into the bathroom and locked the door behind me. After calming my erratic breathing, I went to the basin to splash cold water on my face to reduce the redness of my face.

I heard the door to my room close, signifying that Adrian left already. I thought about how nice it was to wake in his arms and the fact that he was watching me while I slept gave me butterflies in my belly.

“And I’m the d*rty one“, Jasmine laughed in my head. “Stop listening to my thoughts“, I rushed out before blocking her out, not before she laughed at me.

I washed up and left the bathroom. I picked a very comfortable wear that consisted of a cute white top and suede flared pants that felt as comfortable as they looked. I paired it with a black sl*ppers before making my way to the living room, the smell of food leading me.

Rose was busy in the kitchen when I walked in. I made to go help her but she hit me with a spatula before telling me to go and have a seat.

We talked about random things when Jayden walked in. Adrian walked in shortly after and we all had breakfast while. chatting about random things.

The air was light as we ate and it finally felt like I belonged to a family of my own. After we finished eating and cleared everything, I made to go back to my room when Jayden. stopped me.
