Chapter 34
My Weak Wife Is a Real Goddess
âOh, youâre too late,â the teacher in the office said without looking up. âThe principal asked someone to send the necklace to an identification center half an hour ago.â
So fast?
Zoey bit her lip and pitifully whined, âBut the owner of the necklace really wants it back. Canât we get it back?â
âThe procedure will be done in no time. Canât you give it to her after itâs done?â The teacher frowned.
âWhatâs more, when she threw it away, she said that she didnât want it because it was dirty. She even accused me of being a busybody for helping her pick it up. Why does she suddenly want it back so desperately now?â
âThatâs not it, I was just askingâ¦â
Zoey bowed apologetically and then turned to leave.
When she got to the lawn where there was no one around, the expression on Lucilleâs face completely fell. Lucilleâs fingerprints were not on that necklace. Once the test results were out, Lucille would be thoroughly cleared of her crime.
That wouldnât do.
She had to think of another wayâ¦
Zoeyâs eyes flashed as she thought of her classmates who were still being detained. Lucille was the one who had caused that to happen, and they might even have to go to jail.
Their parents probably hated Lucille to the core.
Zoey smiled and came up with an excellent idea.
She could incite those parents to make a scene in front of Lucille, making them cry, beg, and act pathetic. She would then get a few influential reporters to report on it. Then, Lucille would be in a difficult position, and her only choice would be to listen to Zoeyâs persuasion and compromise.
That way, everyone would be grateful to her, whether they were the innocent students or the parents of those students!
Zoeyâs lips curled into a grin, and she immediately took out her mobile phone to contact the parents of the students involved.
âHello, sir. Iâm Lucilleâs sister. My name is Zoey Johnson. Iâm very sorry that my sister has sent your son to the police station. Iâm trying to find a way to save the students, so I have something to discuss with youâ¦â
As she made the calls, Zoeyâs smile grew wider and wider.
This time, she was certain that she would succeed.
Aside from Zoey, there was another person who was very dissatisfied with the decision that Lucille would not be expelled.
It was none other than Sebastian.
At the thought that Jenny was still suffering in the detention center, Sebastian gritted his teeth in hatred.
He couldnât help shouting at the butler beside him, âDidnât I ask you to put pressure on the school? Itâs just expelling a student. Is it that hard?â
âSir, weâve received news from the school saying that Master Walton is defending that girl. On top of that, there is a rule in their college stating that students who pass the examination wonât be expelled, so the school canât expel her with the excuse of poor gradesâ¦â
âIn that case, sue her!â Sebastian ordered.
Angrily, he continued, âGo to the police station and file a case right now. Send this ignorant girl to prison in the name of theft!â
That diamond necklace was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, which was enough to get her locked up for many years.
The butler lowered his head. âYes, sir. Iâll get the car ready right away.â
Lucille left the school and went straight to the new villa.
Although the location she chose was not the best, it was better because of the quiet environment.
Looking around, the rows of villas were grand and magnificent.
In front of the door were a garden and a pavilion. There was an osmanthus tree in the corner of the courtyard that she liked.
When Lucille entered, Madam Dahlia was tidying up the curtains. When she saw her, she hurriedly greeted her. âYouâre here, Miss Jules!â
âThank you for your hard work, Madam Dahlia.â
âNot at all. Yesterday, I invited a lot of others to help clean up the place. Otherwise, I wouldnât have been able to clean such a huge place on my own.â Madam Dahlia smiled and then said, âMiss Jules, Iâve already tidied up your room. Do you want to go and have a look?â
âOkay. You can get back to work, Madam Dahlia. Iâll go up by myself,â Lucille responded.
There were three floors in the villa. Lucille did not take the elevator and instead went straight up the stairs to the second floor.
The bedroom on the second floor was very warm. There were white gauze curtains with a pink valance.
There was a velvet rug under her feet and many plushies of various sizes next to the bed. There were all kinds of different ones, and they all looked cute and silly.
Lucille stepped forward and picked up one of the little squirrel dolls.
Those were Mollyâs favorite.
She wondered where Molly had gone after Lucilleâs death, whether she had been scammed, or if she was getting bulliedâ¦
If not for the fact that she had yet to find the traitor who had caused her death, and that her former subordinates couldnât be contacted, she wouldnât have taken the risk of asking Joseph for help.
