Chapter 52
My Weak Wife Is a Real Goddess
Lucille looked back quietly and saw a teenager around 17 or 18 years old, who was groaning at her.
The young man looked like a porcelain doll, with a little baby fat. He was still childish, and his eyes were particularly beautiful.
If she remembered correctly, that was probably Austin, Josephâs cousin.
She remembered how Joseph had bumped into her and Austin when they were eating at a restaurant.
Lucille was about to look away when she heard another snort. Austin lowered his voice and muttered, âI will never recognize you as my sister-in-law.â
The displeasure on his face was unconcealed. He was so full of anger, and he looked like a textbook example of a rich familyâs idiotic son.
Lucille was certain that if he had not been born into the Collins family, someone would have beaten him up. What was she going to do⦠Should she bully him as well?
Lucille sat upright and slowly replied, âWhat did you say? I didnât hear you.â
Hearing this, Austin immediately repeated, âI said, I will never recognize you as my sister-in-law!â
Oh no. It was over.
He didnât lower his voice, and everyone heard it.
Joseph had a faint smile on his face as he looked at him. âIt seems that youâre restless again.â
The word âagainâ had a knowing tone to it.
Austin shuddered instantly. If someone were to ask who he feared the most at home, then it would have to be Joseph.
Madam Collins was even more ruthless. She took a sip of tea and uttered, âSigh⦠I was going to buy you that sports car that you like, but now it seems that you donât need itâ¦â
Plop!
Austin dropped to his knees, which seemed to be a familiar posture for him.
âGrandma, Joseph.â He called out to them one by one. Finally, he said loudly to Lucille, âMy sister-in-
law!â
Lucilleâs eyelids twitched. She was at a loss for words.
How could he kneel down so easily?
Madam Collins was satisfied. She tugged at Lucilleâs hand in a caring manner.
âLucille, I heard about your father severing ties with you. What do you think? Are you willing to go back to that house? Donât worry. With me supporting you, your father will never dare to bully you again!â
Lucille shook her head and refused. âHeâs not my father.â
She understood that Madam Collins was speaking completely out of kindness. She was worried that Lucille would feel uncomfortable after getting kicked out of her house and facing gossip from the public, so Madam Collins wanted to back her up.
However, that place had never been home to her in the first place.
Madam Collins nodded. She totally respected Lucilleâs wishes, especially when she thought of Howardâs harsh words when he publicly severed his relationship with Lucille. How could he be considered a father? So what if -he disowned her?
âGood girl.â Madam Collins patted the back of Lucilleâs hand lovingly and muttered, âFrom now on, this place will be your home.â
Lucille smiled and politely responded, âThank you, Grandma.â
âBy the way, Lucille, how about we hold the engagement party this Saturday? I consulted someone, and the weather that day will be good. Itâs a lucky date, too,â Madam Collins suggested.
âSure.â
Either way, it was just a contract between her and Joseph. It didnât matter what day the party was held.
That made Madam Collins so happy that she could not even close her mouth. She immediately said to the servant beside her. âHurry up and call the tailor over!â
Soon, the tailor arrived She was the best tailor in all of Shein City. Her exquisite and extraordinary embroidery was famous all over the world It was said that she could embroider anything, so she was also said to have golden hands.
Madam Collins said, âCome, Lucille. Let the tailor take your measurements. Also, you can tell her what kind of style you would want for the wedding dress, as well as any thoughts you have about it.â
Wedding dress?
Lucille was stunned. She had only agreed to the engagement, not to a marriage.
Fortunately, Joseph cleared his throat and helped her out. âGrandma, sheâs still young. Letâs talk about marriage in the future.â
