Chapter 725
Boss, Your Wife is Asking for A Divorce, Again!
Chapter 725 Surreptitious
She glared at him, and the look in her eyes said, âWhat are you laughing at? How dare you laugh? We
wouldnât have been in this situation if not for you taking me here.â
He touched her cheek and huddled closer, then he said with a voice only they could hear, âDonât worry.
We wonât be found.â
âAnd how are you so sure about that?â Sonia didnât believe him.
Toby was about to say something, but then the employees started talking again.
âBut I donât see anyone here.â The employee named Lisanna looked around. âThereâs only the two of us
here. You must be seeing things.â
âThereâs only the two of us here, but I heard someone talking just now.â The employee who talked first
earlier waved her hand. âNo. It wasnât someone talking. I heard a grunt. No, more like a moan. Yeah, a
moan.â
âA moan?â Lisanna blinked. âI didnât hear it. You might be hearing things.â
âNo, I didnât.â The first employee shook her head adamantly.
âOdd. Weâre alone here, but thereâs someone moaning? Wait, it canât beâ¦â Lisanna shivered, and her
voice started trembling. âThis place canât be haunted, right?â
The first employee shrieked, and she blanched. âThatâs just nonsense, Lisanna. There are no ghosts. Itâs
still morning. Stop scaring me.â
âIâm not scaring you. You said you heard things but weâre alone here, so who made that sound? Itâs either
a ghost, or you must have been hearing things,â Lisanna said seriously.
The first employee gulped. âD-Do you think this place is really haunted?â
âWho knows?â Lisanna shook her head fearfully.
The employee held the cleaning cloth. âWhy donât we hotfoot it out of here, Lisanna? Youâre scaring me,
and Iâm getting the heebie jeebies.â
âBut we havenât finished cleaning the room.â Lisanna wanted to go out, but she hesitated.
Her colleague held her arm. âForget it. Itâs not even dirty, and this room isnât used too much. Itâs fine, so
letâs just leave. Iâm really getting scared here.â
âYouâre right. Letâs go.â
The employees took their cleaning tools and left the room as soon as possible.
Sonia was looking absolutely stormy and annoyed after hearing that. âThey⦠They called me a ghost?
Thatâs just too far.â I donât look like a ghost.
âYeah, it is.â Toby nodded. âGhosts are ugly, but youâre hot. They just canât see the difference.â
Sonia rolled her eyes. âItâs all your fault. I wouldnât have done this if it werenât for you.â She pushed him
away and sat up, then she combed through her hair with her hand. âThis is the first time Iâm hiding under
a table.â
âMe too.â Toby sat up and straightened out his suit.
Sonia grumbled, âYou brought this on yourself. I told you to let me go, but you took me straight under the
table.â
Toby smiled. âIf we didnât hide, they would have seen us. Even if we hadnât done anything, there would
still be rumors flying around tomorrow. Wanna bet?â
Sonia paused for a moment. âBut why?â Obviously, she was still dazed.
Toby sat on the rug. He put one leg up and crossed the other leg underneath. It was a sexy pose. Then,
he raised one finger. âBecause we stayed around for a long time after the conference ended. Do you
think they wonât imagine what we were doing in the room during that time?â
Sonia couldnât find any argument for that. He has a point. We stayed in a room, alone. Of course theyâd
start to imagine things.
Toby raised another finger. âAnd secondly, you stand out too much.â
Sonia tilted her head to the side. âHow?â
Toby pointed at his lips, and she looked at them. His lips were thin and nice, and the color wasnât too
luscious. However, now that she had a closer look, she realized his lips were obviously red. The only
reason for that was because of the kissing. His lips had turned red from the kiss, and it was the same for
Sonia. Her upper lip was thin, but her lower lip was full. It was perfect for kissing, so her lips would be
redder than his after the kiss, and they might even be swollen.
No wonder I stand out. My lips are swollen from the kiss. Of course I stand out. Just like what Toby said,
after the employees came in, even if they werenât kissing or standing together, the employees could still
figure out what they were doing before they came in. The rumors would still fly around the next day. âSo I
have to thank you for taking me under the table?â Sonia looked at him speechlessly.
He pushed a lock of her hair behind her ear and whispered, âNo. But if you insist, I wouldnât mind.â
Soniaâs lips twitched. âGive an inch and you take a mile. You can stay here if you want, but Iâm going
out.â She pulled the tablecloth up and crawled out.
After she left, Toby went out as well, and they reappeared in the conference room.
Sonia heaved a sigh. âI donât want to do that kind of stuff ever again.â
Toby straightened his suit, and he chuckled. âBut donât you think itâs exciting?â
âOnce is enough.â She massaged her neck. âWeâre lucky we werenât found out, but we might run out of
luck the next time. Iâm not taking the risk, and you arenât dragging me into this.â
Toby shrugged, though he looked disappointed. Fine, no next time then, but I can change the spot.
Bathrooms, couches, and even the balcony. He curled his lips into a smile.
Sonia didnât know what he had in mind, but that smile made her shiver. I have a bad feeling about this.
He must be up to something bad. âWe should go out now.â She held his arm and stopped his train of
thought, then she dragged him away.
Toby smiled at her and played along quietly.
She opened the door and went out, but Sonia looked around her, as if she was worried someone might
see them.
Toby was amused by what she was doing. âWhat are you doing?â
âOh, what do you know?â She looked at him. âIâm checking the coast. If someone saw us coming out,
theyâd come up with another rumor, so we have to avoid the crowd, understand?â
Toby nodded. âUnderstood.â
âAlright. You take that side, I take this side. Weâll split up and cover more ground.â Sonia pointed at her
left.
âOkay.â Toby nodded. If she wants to do this, Iâll play along. She was reluctant to hide under the table
earlier, but she played along with me anyway.
The two of them skulked around furtively and evaded all the offices and crowds before finally coming
back to their own office.
The moment she closed the door, Sonia heaved a sigh of relief. âNow I can rest easy. Nobody will know
what happened.â
Toby stood beside her and smiled lovingly. âThatâs right.â
Sonia stretched her arms and turned around. âSo what now? Itâs still early, so arenât you going back to
your company?â
