Officer Ying Wu responded, “Same person we had checked his DNA and all. Everything matches 100 percent. Only the current state of this man had traces of unknowing compound drugs in his system. The laboratory hasn’t gotten breakthroughs about those components yet.”

“You can’t get the component of that drug with this country’s current technology. I suggest you ask for the international alliance group’s help when it comes to this kind of thing,” suggested Hua Heiyu.

Officer Ying Wu said, “I will mention it to the Upper echelons.”

“What else can you see about this case?” asked Ye Yuyan. He was seriously asking the brain of their team for his theories.

Hua Heiyu said, “Diluted effects of both the Berserk concoction and Ecstasy Flower drug. Obviously, the people behind this case would no longer be ordinary people. Thinking of the world, the deceased Doctor Shen said before he died the medicine he used on himself which took his life was given to him by someone.

“What’s the name of the Syndicate and what do they do?” asked Jie Yun.

Ye Yuyan answered, “Internationally Wanted Syndicate in more than 8 countries including ours. The Red Poppy Syndicate. Their goal is world chaos.”

“A Syndicate this crazy exists!?” said Wei Lou.

Officer Ying Wu with a frown said, “They do. What’s the worst is that no one knew the identity of the leader and his executives. All the Police Department and the government knew is that the main criminals of this group use poisonous flowers as code names like Poppy, Nightshade, Iris, Hydrangea, Oleander, Azalea, Hyacinth, and so on and so forth. The leader had the codename ‘Poppy’.”

“I heard a bit of them while I’m still an activated contract killer. To be exact they even send work to the organization I used to be in. They venture into most illegal industries like drug selling, human trafficking, human experiments, hacking, assassination, and more. They are the worst of the bunch. Lunatics who kill for an unreasonable reason.” said Jie Yun.

Wei Lou commented, “This sounds crazy. No wonder they are internationally wanted!”

“So? Since they handle drugs, do you think that the medicine that Doctor Shen used at the end was given from them and this Ecstasy Flower love drug they made as well? Heh~ sounds interesting~” said Hua Heiyu as he showed a rare smile yet it looked so evil and dangerous.

Ye Yuyan said, “Don’t think about it. Even if that Syndicate indeed had come into this country then the government would have made a move from their side. I’m just a tiny Prosecutor who just got recently reinstated. I had nothing to do with them.”

“I don’t think so. Just your identity as the sole son of the Prime Minister of this country alone was enough to get their eyes on you. I have a feeling that one of their executives must be involved in this case given to you. Or such a weird case would be considered closed and forgotten if you didn’t exist~” said Hua Heiyu.

To Officer Ying Wu, the team made by Prosecutor Ye Yuyan is only created to solve cases the Police Headquarters couldn’t solve. They aren’t supposed to get involved with a notorious syndicate like the Red Poppy Syndicate. “Are you trying to say that the case about the serial killer, Doctor Shen, and this illegal drugs case had involvement of that Red Poppy Syndicate? They are in our country?” asked Officer Ying Wu.

Ye Yuyan said, “Maybe... Didn’t the coast guards say they’ve seen an unregistered ship by the piers suddenly appearing one night? It might be them who was riding that ship.”

“This... I will investigate it further. I need to return to the headquarters. What should you guys be doing afterward?” asked Officer Ying Wu.

Hua Heiyu said, “I can’t walk with these feet. Staying here to heal~”

“That’s okay but you can be left alone. The Prosecutor needs to stay with you 24/7. It is the orders from above.” said Officer Ying Wu.

Prosecutor Ye Yuyan clicked his tongue in annoyance.

Officer Ying Wu recalled the warnings the higher-ups had given him about the hatred of Ye Yuyan towards Hua Heiyu and their conditions to allow Hua Heiyu out of the prison.

“Prosecutor Ye, please don’t be like this, or I will have to bring back Heiyu to the City Prison.”

“I know already. I won’t kill him as long as he holds back his tongue!” said Prosecutor Ye Yuyan.

Officer Ying Wu will need to return to the headquarters to gather more information about the case and the Red Poppy Syndicate. Wei Lou would check the back alleys in the case. Jie Yun would visit the schools involved in the case.

System Yue spoke to Ye Yuyan through his mind and said, [Make a reason to meet Lou Wei and Yun Jie alone without Officer Ying Wu’s presence around. I need to give them something.]

Ye Yuyan heard System Yue’s request and chose to do something about it.

“This case is much more dangerous than before. I cannot give you a weapon that can be used to directly kill someone but giving some baton should suffice. Follow me.” said Prosecutor Ye Yuyan to Wei Lou and Jie Yun.

Wei Lou said, “It’s better to give me metal knuckles instead of any weapon.”

He and Jie Yun followed Prosecutor Ye Yuyan to the storage room while Officer Ying Wu waited in the living room with Hua Heiyu.

Officer Ying Wu was staring at the back figures of the three people with serious expressions and almost forgot about Hei Yuhua who was left behind with him.

Hei Yuhua slightly narrowed his eyes in contemplation but he reacted normally as if his face hadn’t changed in that split second.

Hua Heiyu asked Officer Ying Wu who was sitting beside him, “Do you want some, Wuwu?”

“Then just one. Thanks, Heiyu!” said Officer Ying Wu while Hua Heiyu just nodded his head as he continued eating his donut.

A smile replaced that serious expression on Officer Ying Wu’s face for a split second but he didn’t expect Hei Yuhua to be observing his actions quietly all this time.

At the storage room, System Yue had asked Ye Yuyan to exchange some things in the system mall like hidden weapons, pills that resist all kinds of poison as well as a small detector that would show some signs if there is something or someone eavesdropping or tailing them. All for safety purposes.

After all, they even heard from the God of Wealth, Bai Jin, that the hidden villain of this world had a system by his side. This could only mean that special things that can be redeemed in the system mall are also available to him though it might be a lower class than what their team uses. System Yue and System Yang are both divine class systems, they are made differently from the beginning.

As a cover, Ye Yuyan gave the two some melee weapons as weapons to hide their hidden weapons. On Lou Wei’s hand is a police tonfa which is customized not to break easily even if he used it to hit metal. In Jie Yun’s case, he was given a retractable baton with electric shock as special effects.

Officer Ying Wu whispered to his superior when he saw the weapons in Wei Lou and Jie Yun’s hands.

“What is that really alright? To give them weapons?”

After the three left his house, Ye Yuyan went back to the living and sat on the couch. He carried his wife and placed him on his lap helping him remove the crumbs at the corner of his mouth.

Hei Yuhua offered a bitten toffee-flavored donut to his husband and asked, “Coffee flavor. Not too sweet. Try it, A’Yan. Ahh~”

“It’s not bad. But don’t eat too much before lunch, Yu’er,” said Ye Yuyan.

Hei Yuhua obediently nodded his head in agreement and said, “System Yang said just now that Inspector Yi Rouya had been kidnapped by one of the executives of the Red Poppy Syndicate this morning.”

“Hn? Isn’t he supposed to have a good relationship with them acting as a spy for them? What happened?” said Ye Yuyan.

Hei Yuhua replied, “Must be a butterfly effect of the changes we’ve made in the storyline. They might have kidnapped him not to be used against us but instead towards the Police Headquarters instead. After all, you openly showed your disdain for him.”

“It should be fine. Except for Yu Xi, the others do not know about our real identities anyway. They won’t get anything from those useless old men in the upper echelons of the Police Department.” said Ye Yuyan.

Hei Yuhua asked, “Your friend, Director Yu Xi won’t tell anything to Officer Ying Wu right?”
