Chapter 10 Moving in Together “Ahem!” Betty started coughing badly and doubled up.

A colleague rushed over to rub her back. “Betty, are you all alright? You don’t feel like your calm self.

Do you also find it hard to resist Mr. Martin’s charm?”

“Of course she does,” agreed Sarah. “Betty was so nervous when she did the interview today.”

Betty could only shake her head and cringe inside. “I’m not that crazy about him.”

“Oh, come on.” Sarah held her face in cupped hands and her eyes widened in admiration. “Everything about Mr. Martin is perfect, except for one thing. He’s disabled. But he’s still like a hero of romance.”

The girls, all charmed by Kerwin, did not take the snide remarks by a few male colleagues to heart.

“That’s right,” several female colleagues agreed with Sarah. “I’m jealous of Mr. Martin’s wife. She’s got such a perfect husband by dumb luck.”

Betty could hardly believe her luck. She glanced at the faces around her and couldn’t help but flinch.

If they knew that Betty was Kerwin’s wife, would they suspend her by a rope and beat her up?

For the next few days, Filson Magazine was busy editing Kerwin’s interview. Everyone was pumped with adrenalin and as passionate as they had ever been.

Betty was quite glad to reach the weekend after days of hectic work, but she was still not available.

After visiting her mother in the hospital, she was busy packing up and preparing to move in with Kerwin.

Betty was not desperate to move in. She had been putting it off for several days. If she delayed any longer, Kerwin would think she wanted to back out.

The night before her move, Betty sent Kerwin a message saying that she would move in the next day, Kerwin replied, “Do you want me to send someone to fetch you?”

Betty responded, “No thanks, I’ve booked a moving company.”

After a long while, Kerwin texted her back, “Okay.”

The next day, Betty arrived at the Martin family’s villa.

The villa was large and authentically vintage. Only an old couple named James and Maria worked there.

There was nothing wrong with that. Betty stuffed her things into the other half of the closet.

It was evening when Betty finally finished, but Kerwin wasn’t back yet.

María cooked Betty noodles. After the meal, Betty went back to her room to take a shower.

After the shower, Betty was about to towel herself but found no towels. She forgot to take one with her.

Betty was a bit annoyed with herself for being careless. After a moments of hesitation, she carefully pulled open the bathroom door.

The master bedroom had a bathroom inside. Maria and James lived on the first floor and never caine up here. Thinking of this, Betty got her nerve up and run naked into the master bedroom.

Betty furnbled in the closet for a towel and suddenly heard a click behind her.
