Chapter 47

LUCAS

Coming home with my son in my arms is the best feeling ever . And I will never be thankful enough to Wylder and Nathan for making it possible . They actually made my stay at the hospital a little less depressing .

At the moment, I'm currently taking my first ever relaxing bath without any disturbance . Nathan is cooking dinner, while Wylder is with Tobias, probably playing silly board games Wylder bought for Tobias as a welcome gift .

As for Axel, he didn't really get what he deserved . He kidnapped my son and made me go through shit . It was his fault that Tyron almost raped me . I don't care that he stopped Tyron from killing Tobias and made sure that he never got harmed . I don't care if the police are on his side because of the lies he told the police and fed Tobias so he could be on his side . Everything is his fault and I don't want him anywhere near me or my son .

I get out of the bathtub, feeling like the water is getting cold . I throw a towel around my waist and use another one to dry my hair . Putting on my shower shoes, I walk my way into my bedroom .

When I get in, I find Nathan sitting in bed . He looks to be deep in thought. I just lean by the doorway of the bathroom . Quietly observing him . He hasn't noticed me yet . He's staring at the floor , occasionally shaking his head . Oh well, he's definitely conflicted about something .

Now that I think about it, I have never taken a moment to admire how Nathan had grown into a fine man. Not that I'm implying anything . He's just different now . Hotter in a way . His hair is short and I think he just ruffled it up this morning when he woke up . It makes me wish I could run my fingers all over it . With everything that has happened, he has started developing a little stubble . He surprisingly looks good even though I prefer his clean shaved face.

" Nathan?" I finally say . Snapping him out of his little trace . His green eyes widens as he glance over me .

" I-- uhhh" He quickly dart his eyes from my face to my exposed lower half . That only results in me blushing .

" Wha--umhm..." I subconsciously cover my chest with the towel in hand . " What's up? What are you doing in here?" I utter after some difficulty .

" You know, came to tell you that dinner is ready ." He smiles at me innocently . I have never seen this shy side of Nathan , he's so--- no Lucas! think about dinner . Food, yay!

" Thanks . I will be down in a minute ." I say to him . He nods . I turn towards my closet . Cursing at myself for being too obvious.

" Dang!" I look up to find my clothes folded at the higher part , a place I avoid to putting my clothes over because of how short I am .

" Let me help!" Nathan blurts out behind me . Before I can refuse, he's already standing behind me , his body brushing against me as he grabs the folded laundry with one hand .

I'm just left standing there . Not knowing what to do with myself . I could move but I feel frozen in place . His earthy smell and his body heat behind me makes me wish we could stay like this forever .

He eventually steps away from me . I breathe out , not wanting to really face him . " Thanks ." I whisper . " You can put them on my bed ."

" Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something ." Nathan clears his throat behind me . I facepalm myself . Knowing that I would have to turn around .

I breathe out, tightly hold on to my towel around my waist and hope that Nathan doesn't notice my body's reaction to him coming near me .

" Yeah?" I turn to him . Smiling a little to cover up how nervous I am .

He shifts under his weight, his eyes flickering to my face . " Would you--- Lucas, would you like to go on a date with me tomorrow night?". He lets out a huge sigh once the words leave his mouth .

" Uh--" I don't know what to say . Am I ready to give Nathan a try? With Tobias ' 6th birthday next Friday and Summer's baby shower that was postponed the day after the birthday . I don't have an excuse to turn him down , to even say no since I have nothing to do tomorrow except follow Tobias around the house . I'm scared of leaving his side .

" I mean, if you want to . No pressure . I would definitely understand if you say no. If you are not rea-"

" Yes " I interject, taking both Nathan and I by surprise ." I would love to go on a date with you tomorrow ." I smile sheepishly at his wide eyed face .

" Okay , awesome!" He snaps out of it when I poke his arm a little because he has been frozen in place for far too long. " I will wait by the car up front at 7PM . "

" Great, see you then!" I say to him when he staggers out of the bedroom . Stealing a few glances at me , I guess he's still in shock that I said yes .
