I Love You Miss Genius ( Bonnie Shepard ) CHAPTER 269
I Love You, Miss Genius
Chapter 269
âIâm going to check your pulse, Mom.â
That surprised Mairi. âDo you have medical skills as well, Bonnie?â
Nodding, she said, âLet me give it a shot.â
Mairi didnât stop her. She extended her hand and let Bonnie do her thing. That was when
Daken walked over to his daughter and whispered, âAre
her way around medicines?â
âI didnât know about it until tonightâs party started.â
You aware that Bonnie knows
Avril stared at Bonnie curiously. âWhat exactly do you make of Bonnie, Dad? Why do I get the feeling that she knows everything?â
Daken was also staring at Bonnie. However, he didnât say anything about the matter.
Not long after, Bonnie finished checking Mairiâs pulse. She released her godmotherâs hand and asked. âAm I right if I say you were haunted by some serious condition when you were very young? Is that the reason behind your compromised immune system?â
Mairiâs eyes widened. âHow did you know about that?â The fact was, she hadnât even mentioned this to Avril. Bonnie shouldnât have known about it.
âI just checked your pulse, silly,â Bonnie responded.
Mairi was shocked that Bonnie knew her condition by simply checking her pulse.
âI went to the countryside when I was merely three years old. Iâm not sure what toxic insect it was, but it bit me, and I got a high fever for two straight weeks. I was admitted to the county hospital before they transferred me to one of the hospitals in the city, but it didnât do me any good.
âMy family even hired a witch doctor and did the whole shebang. Nothing took. Then, it dragged on,
and my body recovered slowly on its own. Ever since that incident, I became frail. I couldnât even touch cold waters when it was summer.
âIt bugged me a lot too. I canât even drink cold beverages because of it.â Mairi sighed.
âEveryone drank their fair share of cold beverages when they were young. Having a cold beverage during summer is liberating when I sweat profusely. It mustâve been awesome.â
Bonnic patted Mairiâs hands and said, âDonât let this get you down, Mom. It isnât too late

to treat it.â
âYouâre such a sweet child, Bonnie. I know youâre just saying what I want to hear. I know about my health better than anyone else. Iâve hired many famous doctors and specialists. over the past few years, but it didnât do me good.
âDaken wanted to purchase the bid for the miracle doctorâs service at the auction a few days ago. However, his company was trying to gather funding because they secured a famous actor to be the spokesperson for their latest product. That meant their funding was pretty tight, too. On top of that, the Shepardsâ¦â
Mairi trailed off into silence. She hesitated a little before continuing. âThe Shepards got down on their knees and begged everyone. Harold was in a critical condition. On the other hand, Iâm just feeling weak. Itâs nothing as urgent as his situation. With all those factors in mind, we decided to give up on it.â
Turning her head sideways, Bonnie looked at Avril. âPlease get me my medkit, Avril. Itâs the one I brought here with me.â
Avril blinked twice and asked, âMy momâs condition is quite serious, Bonnie. Are you sure you want to do this?â
âYouâre right. It is quite serious, but I did say I can treat her.â Bonnie said confidently.
All three of them gawked at her.
Bonnie knew why they were looking at her in this manner. To make them feel better, she explained. âHave faith in my skills. The mother of the SR Leagueâs owner had it worse than Mom, but I treated her nonetheless.
âAlso, I had a patient who sat in a wheelchair for twentyâodd years. He managed to stand up after I healed him. Letâs not forget about Harold. He was as good as dead by the time I saw him, but I saved him, too.â
Avril and her parents were at a loss for words. All they could do was gawk at Bonnie. Gulping, she asked, âAâAre you making a joke again, Bonnie?â
