Chapter 311
Bonnie looked at the pale Trina standing at the door. The former then turned to Hadwin and giggled, saying, âYou wouldnât have cheated on me with Trina if I told you. That way, you couldâve bragged about marrying the miracle doctor. Thatâs how it works, right?â
Hadwin was stunned because Bonnieâs assumption was right. She had seen through him
and revealed his true intentions to everyone.
Meanwhile, Trina gripped her dress as she gritted her teeth.
Demetria stepped forward and revealed a loving smile at Bonnie. The former said, âIt was all a big misunderstanding. He called off the engagement because we thought you were al goodâforânothing. The fact is that you and Hadwin are a match made in heaven.
âAlso, you were engaged to Hadwin first. Trina is nothing more than an accident. Iâll tell my son to announce that heâs canceling his engagement with Trina. Then, weâll pick another date for your engagement party with Hadwin.â
âAnother engagement party?â Bonnie said sarcastically.
âIf you think itâs redundant, weâll arrange a wedding ceremony instead.â Demetria knew
Bonnie and her son should get married immediately.
Once they revealed Bonnieâs true identity, plenty of contenders would ask for her hand in marriage. The Rhodes would have no chance to get her then. Demetria wanted to seal the
deal as soon as possible.
She continued, âPerhaps we could do it next Saturday. Although it seems rushed, weâll reserve the most upscale hotel and get you a handâtailored wedding dress. You wonât have
to worry about a thing.â
Trina was furious, her eyes red as she looked at her parents.
Vera was just as mad, saying, âHow can you do this, Demetria?! Trina and Hadwin are engaged, and my daughter gave him her virginity. YâYou-â
Demetria said blankly, âDonât blame me. I wouldnât have discovered Bonnieâs real identity if
I hadnât come here today. Put yourself in my shoes, Vera. Would you have chosen Bonnie
or Trina as your daughterâinâlaw? Iâm sure anyone would choose Bonnie.â
Vera countered, âYou say that, but we disowned Bonnie much earlier. She has nothing to do with my family. Hadwin was the one who proposed to Trina. Also, Bonnie isnât my
blological daughter, Trina is.â
Sheâs right, Gresham took his wifeâs side, adding, âBonnie is no longer one of us. That means her engagement with Hadwin was irrelevant.â
After some thought, Demetria said, âYou have a point.
Trina and her parents sighed in relief. However, they did not expect Demetria to approach
Bonnie and say, âNow that youâre no longer a member of their family, I donât have to ask for their permission or opinions. Instead, Iâll just ask you. How about marrying Hadwin next Saturday?â
Vera said hastily, âWhat do you mean by that, Demetria?â
Demetria casually glanced at her and said, âYou guys clarified that seconds ago. Youâre no longer related to Bonnie, meaning she gets to make her own decisions. She can decide- who to marry. Of course, Iâll ask her about it.â
âListen-â Vera choked on her words while her husband turned red with rage.
Suddenly, Bonnie walked toward the door, almost leaving.
Demetria noticed it and chased after her. âWhere do you think youâre going, Bonnie?! I need
your answer.â
However, Bonnie ignored her and continued walking despite how hysterical Demetria
seemed.
âBonnie!â Demetria yelled again, but it was useless. She knew Bonnie would not stop, so she had to race after her. Ultimately, she managed to stand in Bonnieâs way. âIâm talking to you, young lady. Whatâs the hurry?â
Bonnie grinned and said sarcastically, âWho the hell do you think you are? What made your think you could boss me around? I donât have to marry your son just because you said so. Do everyone a favor and tighten that loose screw in your head.â
