Bonnie chuckled, and Ivor said, âWhatâs wrong? Arenât you content with twins? Do you want to make eight -no, ten babies with me? Iâd love that, but I donât want you to push yourself.â
He looked at her belly worriedly.
Bonnie giggled and said, âYou have a wild imagination. Okay, thatâs enough of that. I need to sleep, and you need to leave.â
She pushed him out of her room. She then patted her head and thought, âWhy did I let him trick me into having a conversation about having babies? Jeez, we even discussed how many babies weâll have.â
When Saturday arrived, Bonnie went to the Jade Horizon Hotel as promised. When she opened the private room door, her eyes sparkled as she looked at the stunning man. He was almost as dashing as
Ivor, but his demeanor differed.
Bonnie stared at the man and felt a strange feeling well inside her. She felt like she had seen this person before. More accurately, she seemed to recognize his eyes and lips the most.
She and the man observed each other for a while. The latterâs eyes widened with astonishment as he thought, âThe chef told me sheâs beautiful, but I underestimated just how gorgeous she is.â
âHello, there. Iâm Thaddeus Sherman. Itâs nice to meet you.â
âLikewise, Thaddeus. Iâm Bonnie.â
âBonnie?â Thaddeus repeated.
âIs there something wrong with my name?â
âNot at all. It rolls off the tongue..
Nuhâuh. I think itâs nice. It rolls off the tongue quite smoothly. Its etymology means âprettyâ and âbeautiful. Itâs just that it sounds familiar, but I canât remember where I heard it.â He could not remember, no matter
how hard he tried.
Bonnie did not overthink it and sat down, saying, âPerhaps itâs a common name.â
She did not tell him her name was trending on Twitter because of the incident regarding the Shepards and Orpheus. It was only expected that Thaddeus had heard about her.
He said, âItâs not common at all. I think itâs a pretty unique name. Perhaps I made an honest mistake. I heard you like wine, so I brought you an imported bottle of 1982 Chateau Lafite. Try some and tell me if you like it.â
As he poured Bonnie a glass, she thought, âIâve drunk that wine. I remember how smooth it was to drink.â
She said, âYou wouldnât have brought me this wine for no good reason, right? So, tell me what your
intentions are.â

I like that you get to the point, Bonnie. Youâre just like me in that aspect. I donât like beating around the bush, but I held back because I didnât want to make you uncomfortable.â Then, Thaddeus noticed her getting slightly impatient. After all, he was a perceptive man.
He hurriedly added, âIâve always wanted to learn about culinary arts. The chef here told me about your unrivaled skills, so I would love to become your apprentice.â
Bonnie sipped her wine and put her glass down, saying, âDidnât the chef tell you I donât have time to teach anyone? He used to ask me the same thing, too, but I always rejected him.â
Thaddeus knew it would turn out this way and had prepared for it. He stood up and looked at her thoughtfully. He said, âI mean it, Bonnie. Iâve had an immense Interest in culinary arts since childhood. However, Iâve never been honored to meet someone with actual skills.
âBesides that, my parents gave me one last warning. If I canât learn culinary arts and make something of myself, Iâll have to return home and take over the family business. Iâm not cut out for a corporate life and the furthest thing from a company CEO.â
That was also why Thaddeus needed to find an extraordinarily talented wife. That way, he could let his wife take over the family business.
Bonnie noticed his sincerity and felt his passion for cooking. Moreover, he looked so familiar that she could not help but feel closer to him. Hence, she faltered slightly.
Thaddeus noticed it and seized the opportunity to try again, I swear Iâll learn with everything I have. If you turn me down, Iâll wait at your doorstep daily
Iâll be there, no matter the weather.â
Bonnieâs lips twitched when she heard that.
