I Love You Miss Genius ( Bonnie Shepard ) CHAPTER 88
I Love You, Miss Genius
Chapter 88
âI didnât think Iâd be able to hear Ms. Bonitaâs unique take on research at todayâs gathering. Iâve learned more from her than from reading compendiums of journals! What a fruitful day!â One of the elderly professors opened the door as he spoke with his fellow researchers.
âAgreed! Thank you, Ms. Bonita. Iâm sorry you had to talk about work over lunch.â
Then, they heard a young womanâs voice. Her voice stood out among the old professors. âIt was nothing. I was just talking.â
Hmm? Ivor stopped in his tracks. Was that Bonnieâs voice?
Before he could complete his thought, Bonnie appeared as the professors showered praise on her.
She saw Ivor, and her eyes widened slightly.
Was that Bonnie?! What was she doing here? Trinaâs eyes widened as well, while Hadwin was completely gobsmacked.
âWâWhat are you doing here?â Ged asked the millionâdollar question.
It was a mindâboggling sight! Bonnie was just an ordinary student and a nobody, even in her family. But here she was, surrounded by the most prestigious scientists of Pyralis. Those old professors were Ms. Bonitaâs researchers, too.
Bonnie composed herself and said nonchalantly, âI know some people from Ms. Bonitaâs research institute. They invited me out for a meal.â
Then, she turned her head to Professor Terry and said, âIsnât that right, Mr. Terry?â
Professor Terry shuddered at the way she addressed him. It was true that he was old enough to be her grandfather, but age didnât matter in the face of knowledge. In fact, age meant nothing to them. Bonnieâs academic prowess was unparalleled. She was both a scholar and a leader.
âYâYes. Thatâs what happened.â He grinned sheepishly.
Ivor glanced at Bonnie and turned to look at Professor Terry. His gaze was lowered, and he seemed a little guilty, as if he was trying to keep a big secret.
Trina couldnât hold herself back and ducked out of her hiding place to interrogate Bonnie. âHow did you meet one of Ms. Bonitaâs researchers? Who exactly do you know? Why didnât I hear anything about this?â!
Trina could usually control her emotions, but this had blown her mind. Bonnie was a goodâfor- nothing, but she had aced her SATs and won the Best Scholar Award. They had also discovered that she had a connection to the Steele family.
All of that was enough to make Trina green with envy, but none of it was as bad as the fact that Bonnie actually knew someone from Ms. Bonitaâs research institute!

âIs that you, Trina? What are you doing here? Did you wait out here because you got wind of the gathering? Who are you waiting for? Ms. Bonita?â Bonnie frowned. âHow dare you!â
It might have been Bonnieâs imposing tone, or it might have been that she struck home with her words, but in any case, Trinaâs face turned pale.
âWâWhat nonsense are you saying? WâWe didnât know that Ms. Bonita was here. We were just passing.â
âIs that true?â There was a menace in Bonnieâs eyes now. âYouâd better come clean. Otherwise, Iâll ask the manager and our waiter about it. Theyâre the only ones who knew we were in this private room. Iâm sure they wonât have the guts to lie in front of these prestigious researchers.â
Trina was completely freaked out. Bonnie was so far above her right now that Trina seemed like an insect she was trampling beneath her feet.
This wasnât fair! Why was Bonnie part of her wealthy family? How did she get engaged to Hadwin when she didnât put any effort into their relationship? Why did she deserve to talk to Ms. Bonitaâs researchers?
How was that fair?!
Trinaâs rage returned with a vengeance.
âStop acting all high and mighty, Bonnie. Do you think youâre some kind of hot shot because you know someone from Ms. Bonitaâs research institute? What gave you the right to act like this?
âThe way I see it, you must have used some dirty tricks. I heard that you hired someone to pretend to be your boyfriend to pick you up at school. You seem to have a lot of money recently, and you havenât spent a night at home for a while. Be honest. Did you seduce someone from the research institu
