Chapter 12

So sorry for the long wait!!

(Parts in bold is me telling you something that happened instead of me coping and pasting everything as that would be too long)

Ellie got a job as a receptionist in a hospital, Kai is away for a few days on a 'business meeting'

Ellie spent the day with Rachel, Marcus, Savannah, Clara and Ollie at the park and then she went back to the mansion with them to have a movie night with Rachel and Savannah.

Ellie bumps into Oscar, Here's some of their conversation

"What are you doing here?" A familiar voice that I haven't heard in ages says, I spin around and smile at him

"Oscar!" I dive into his arms and give him the biggest hug "I haven't seen you in ages!"

"I know because you never come around anymore" he says sadly

"Hey! That's not fair! You can come to mine too" I tell him

"I know, I'm sorry I just haven't had the chance" he says

"It's alright, just don't be a stranger" I say

"I could say the same thing to you, how come you never come over here?" He asks curiously

"I.. you know why"

"No, actually I don't" he says, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow at me as if to say 'go on, explain'

"I don't know, it's just.."

"Your afraid" he cuts me off

"No i-"

"You are. Your scared that if you come here you'll not want to leave again" he accuses, cutting me off again

"I-"

"Just admit it, it's okay" he interrupts me again

"Will you stop talking already and give me a chance to speak" I huff, crossing my arms over my chest.

End of recap - OMG. So I wrote the recap and it was so good, better than this one but then I accidentally deleted it so I had to rewrite it, ughh so annoying 🙄😂

Ellie's P.O.V

It's the next day now and I'm about to go to work. Josh said he would give me a ride but I'm still waiting for him to come and pick me up. He's 10 minutes late and if he doesn't show up soon I'm going to be late for work.

What if he's forgot to pick me up? I quickly pull out my phone and scroll down my contacts for his number, once I found it I press call and it rings 3 times before he picks up.

"Hello?"

"Hey, where are you?" I ask

"Sorry, I'm stuck in traffic. There was a car crash, I should be there within the next 5 to 10 minutes" he says

"Okay see you then" I say before hanging up and quickly texting my co-worker Warren that I was going to be late as the traffic was bad due to a car accident. He replies saying no problem and 10 minutes later I'm sitting in Josh's car on my way to work.

"So when's your car going to be fixed?" He asks

I sigh "Its not, the price they are looking for me to pay is too expensive, I may as well just buy a new car" I tell him

"Oh, well you know I can help you if you need the money" he says

"I know but it's alright, I'm in no rush to get a car, I have you to drive me about" I joke

"Yeah well what if I didn't want to be your personal Chauffeur?" He asks

"Tuff, that's what big bros are for"

He just chuckles and continues to drive, a few moments later he replies as if he just thought of what to say

"You know, I might not always be feee to drive you around" he adds

"I know, I was kidding, I'll get a car as soon as I can afford one" I tell him

"I don't know why you just won't let me help you, you know how much money I have with my job" he says

I sigh "I know, but it's not the same, I'd like to be able to afford and buy my own" I tell him

"Your too independent" he says parking outside the hospital entry

"Yeah well, that's not a bad thing"

"No, just annoying" he smiles, I roll my eyes and give him a hug before getting out of the car and waving goodbye

It was just about to turn 1am and my shift was about to end. I sighed in relief, 5 minutes to go.

"You look tired" Warren states

"I am" I reply

After that the conversation went dead, there wasn't much to say and there was a bit of awkward silence. We both didn't know what to say and quite frankly I was too tired to even try think of a conversation. Luckily I didn't have to as Warren thought of one for us.

"Hey, so um. I'm having a barbecue this weekend, would you like to come? It will only be me, a few of my friends and Emma" he asks

Emma is his sister, I've met her once or twice. She works here as a nurse. "Yeah sure, what day and time?" I ask. I really like Warren and his sister seems nice, I'd like to get to know them both a bit more. Make some knew friends that aren't involved will all the illegal stuff going on in my life.

"Saturday at 2pm, don't worry about bringing anything. We have more than enough food and drinks, although if you'd prefer to bring your own Alcohol that's okay I won't mind" he tells me

"Okay I'll be there and no it's okay I'm not fussy" I tell him

"Okay cool, well I'll see you then, that's me off now until Tuesday" he says

I pick up my things whilst finishing the conversation of with Warren, he told me that the barbecue was just casual and not to worry about dressing up too much and then we said hello to Shelly and Diana who would be taken over shift before we both walked out and went our separate ways.

I was standing waiting for Josh to come pick me up when I received a text.

'Hey I forgot to tell you, there's a pool at mine so feel free to bring a swim suit' Warren texts

I reply with a quick 'okay I will thanks' and then a car pulls up in front of me

"Well your certainly not my brother" I say walking over towards the car

"Yeah he couldn't make it, busy with... work" Marcus says

"Hmm, so I suppose your my backup driver?" I ask

"Yep, now hurry and get in, we are going for coffee" he says

"It's one in the morning" I reply getting into the passenger seat of his car

"I know but the Starbucks around the corner is still open" he tells me

"Oh, I didn't know they opened this late"

"Yeah, for night shift staff, they really open until half one that's why we need to hurry" he says

I didn't say anything after that, I just sat thinking about the last time I got in this car with Marcus

"Penny for your thoughts?" Marcus says, I look over at him and notice that he was looking right at me, I looked out the front window and saw that we are in a queue for Starbucks. There's only 3 cars in front of us.

"I was just thinking about the last time I got into this car, how weird is it that I was just out of Starbucks and you pulled up and here we are, going to get Starbucks"

"Oh yeah, um sorry about that" he says awkwardly scratching the back of his neck

"It's alright it was like a month ago" I tell him with a smile, he relaxes and drives us up a bit

"What do you want?" He asks

"Um, I'm alright. I'm going to go home and go to sleep, I don't need the coffee waking me up" I tell him

"Okay will, suit yourself" he says before ordering himself a large caramel latte

A few minutes later we were pulling up in front of my house. I take my seatbelt off and thank him for the lift.

"No problem, anytime sista" he says

I laugh and him and tell him never to say that again before waving goodbye and going into my house. I jumped in a quick shower and then got into bed. Tomorrow was a Thursday which means it's 2 days until Warrens barbecue, which also mean that I need to go shopping for a new outfit to wear and a swimming suit because all my other swimming suits are back at the mansion. I never had to buy new ones as I didn't have a pool and I don't really want to have to go and get one. That would be weird. Since Saturday is to be nice weather I decided I would buy a nice new sundress to wear too.

I texted Rachel asking if she wanted to go shopping tomorrow but she replied saying that she couldn't and she had to take Ollie to his Karate lessons and then her and Lucas were going on a date night.

So I texted Savannah and asked if she wanted to come and she agreed. She said she would come pick me up at one since I couldn't drive and I texted back saying no problem.

Me and Savannah just pulled up at the Mall, it's half one. We would have got here sooner but we decided to take the longer route as we were too busy loving life, driving and singing our lungs out to one direction.

"Okay where to first?" I ask her

I was thinking food, I'm starving and I could really do with a McDonald's right about now.

"I don't mind, you invited me where do you want to go?" She asks

"Um, are you hungry? Do you want to shop first or eat first?" I ask hoping she would say eat

"I could do with some food, want to go to McDonald's?" She asks

"It's like you read my mind" I tell her

"Great minds think alike" she says

We both make our way to McDonald's and join the line. Ugh I swear this line will take forever!

"So how's you and Kai?" Savannah asks

"Uh, we are okay I guess, I haven't really spoken to him since Monday since he's away" I tell her

"Oh, are yous back together?" She asks

"No, well I don't know, it's complicated. We said we are taking it slow but I'm not sure if we are boyfriend, girlfriend again" I tell say

"I'm guessing that was your idea?" She laughs

"Yeah, after everything that's happened between us I think it's best if we just take it slow and see where it takes us, you know?"

"Yeah, I agree with you. I think your making the right decision. Yous both need time apart as well as time together if you get me" she says

"Yeah, exactly!" I agree. Thank god she's on the same page as me. At least I have one person on my side "that's what I've been trying to tell people but no one listens or believes me" I continue. "Everyone thinks I should just move back in but I keep telling them that I need my space, I'm so glad that you agree with me" I tell her and give her a hug

"Off course I do, I mean if I was you I don't even think I'd be considering giving Kai another chance" she says

"I know, trust me I've thought about ending it for good so many times but I just can't seem to walk away. I mean, I thought we were over and then bam, two years later he's back" I say

"Excuse me, I'm sorry I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. If you ask me I'd say that you and this boy your talking about are meant to be together, it's like fate is drawing you two together" an old woman cuts into our conversation, I look down at her and smile, she must be at least in her late 60s. "I'm sorry for interrupting and butting into your conversation, but take it from someone who knows, it's hard to find Love and from what I heard. You and this boy can't seem to stay away from each other, maybe that's god telling you that yous shouldn't be away from one another" she tells me "Darling, your still so young, don't be afraid to take risks if it doesn't work out you still have your whole life ahead of you and then you'll know not to make the same mistake again. But if it does work it, you don't want to leave it too late"

Before she could say anything else a little boy runs over to her "Grandma, come on! We are going to be late for our movie!" He exclaims grabbing her hand and trying to get her to move

"I'm sorry dear, I have to go but think about what I said" she says before patting my arm and walking away

"Okay that was weird" Savannah states after she was gone

"Yeah I agree, but she was so cute. Maybe she's right?" I ask

"Yeah, maybe she's your fairy god mother looking over you and giving you advice to make sure you make the right decision" Savannah mocks

I roll my eyes and was about to reply but the till lady calls the next person. I walk over and order my food and then go pick a table for me and Savannah to sit at. Once she's finished ordering she comes and sits down in front of me.

"No but in all honesty the lady did have a point...right?" I ask

"I suppose, I mean she was right about one thing. You are only young, I mean what do you have to loose? If it doesn't work out this time between you and Kai you can always leave again and start fresh"

"Yeah"

Just then the woman came over with our food. We thanked her and began eating in silence. After a few minutes of silence we made small talk and then once we were finished we cleared our trays and went shopping.

I was looking through all the sundresses, they were all so pretty but I managed to narrow it down to five dresses.

"Okay, I've narrowed it down. What one should I buy?" I ask Savannah, she turns and looks at all my options

"Go try them all on and I'll tell you which one looks best on you" she says

I nod my head and walk into the changing rooms.

Okay I need yous to decide which one you want her to wear to the Barbecue

After buying my new sundress me and Savannah went shopping so that she could buy Marcus a birthday present as it was his birthday in a week. Once we had bought everything we needed for his party and his presents and cards we went Bikini shopping.

"Where are you going again?" Savannah asks as I pick up another bikini that I thought was cute

"My coworker invited me to his barbecue he's having on Saturday" I tell her for the 3rd time

"Uh huh, and this is a boy friend?" She clarifies

"Yeah" I reply

"I think you should reconsider all these bikinis, they are very cute and sexy and you don't want to give anyone the wrong ideas" She says

"That's you trying to say that Kai won't appreciate me wearing these around other men isn't it?" I ask her

"Maybe, you know what he's like. He will get annoyed or jealous. Or maybe even both" she says

"Yeah your right, he probably will but then I'll just have to tell him that this is my body and I can wear whatever I like. It's not like he's my boyfriend, we are taking it slow and it's not like i'm going to be naked, plus I'm going their as a friend. I'm not going to get myself a boyfriend" I tell her "oh and I'm pretty sure that Warren is gay" I tell her

"Fair play, do what makes you happy and your right, your not naked and you can wear what you want!" Savannah agrees

"So which ones do you think I should buy?" I ask her

I'm home now and I've just finished putting away the outfits I bought. It's 6 o'clock now and I've just realised that I haven't had anything to eat since that McDonald's I had earlier. I decide go downstairs and make something to eat.

I sigh as I realise that I haven't gone shopping and that there is barley any food left. I guess I'll have to have a bowl of soup. I pick out the ingredients and make myself homemade vegetable soup. Whilst the soup was cooking on the stove I decided to make a shopping list for tomorrow. Once I was finished with my list I went into the living room and turned the tv on.

I was just in time to watch impractical jokers, I quickly paused the tv and went into the kitchen to check on my soup. Once it was ready I poured some into the bowl and grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge, then I made my way into the living room and watched my show.

3 episodes later I decided to stick on a movie before bed. I decided on watching Free Willy for like the first time in forever. For as long as I can remember I've always loved this movie, it was just so good and it always made me smile. I loved the ending when Willy jumped over the wall, it always made me tear up. Happy tears of course.

Once the movie was over I tuned of the tv and went into the kitchen, I quickly washed up my dishes and then went up to get ready for bed.  I have been so tired lately as I haven't been sleeping right.

I got into bed and I was laying there for a while but I couldn't mange to fall asleep as my mind kept wandering to what that women said to me earlier.

'Don't be afraid to take risks'

'What if it does work, don't leave it too late'

'Fate is pulling you two together'

One thing I do know is that I don't believe in fate. Fate has nothing to do with how me and Kai keep ending up together, it's because he's so annoying and won't leave. But part of me is glad, because I know deep down I do still really love him. Maybe that women is right, maybe we are supposed to be together.

Sorry it took so long to update, I kept meaning to write but I either didn't have the time or didn't want to. This chapter is a longer one to try make up for the long wait.
