Lock You In My Heart
Chapter 111 Intentional Rebuff Gabrielle was very happy and this showed in the way she carried herself jauntily. Before she returned to Half Moon Bay, she went to the supermarket and bought a bag full of food ingredients specially for Westley.
When Sophie saw her with the bag. she was puzzled. She asked, âGabrielle, why did you come back with such a big bag of food items? I have ordered them this morning.â
âThereâs no problem about that, Sophie. This one is specially for Westley tonight,â she replied with a smile plastered on her face.
Gabrielle carried the things she had bought into the kitchen.
It took Sophie a few seconds to process what Gabrielle had told her before she ran after her happily. âGabrielle, do you mean Mr.
Morris will come here for dinner?â she asked with enthusiasm.
Gabrielle paused for some seconds and smiled again. âI think he may come,â she replied hopefully In reality, she wasnât completely sure why he had hung up the phone that way. âDid he agree to come back for dinner or not?â she asked herself silently.
Anyway, she would prepare dinner for him. It was his business, whether he chose to come back or not. âIâll just play my role,â she decided within her.
âItâs great that Mr. Morris can come back and have dinner with you, Gabrielle. I will be so happy about Her cooking skills were just average, so it might be a little bit difficult to reach the kind of taste that her husband wanted. Be that as it might, she decided to give it a try since there was no harm in trying âAll right, Sophie. Iâll go back to my room and change my clothes. Iâll come down to prepare dinner later.â Gabrielle turned around and left the kitchen and climbed upstairs to her room.
Sophie couldnât hold back her excitement at that moment. She quickly called Westley. âMr. Morris, will you come back for dinner tonight? Your wife bought you a large bag of food ingredients and said she would cook dinner for you by herself.â Her delight didnât have any effect on Westley. âI hope she doesnât burn down the kitchen,â he said indifferently âHow can that be possible, Mr.
Morris? Gabrielle is a person who may know how to cook and even cook well. I saw how she cleaned up the weeds in the garden very well.â She was willing to trust Gabrielle. âSophie, you should understand that cleaning up the mess in the garden is different from burning up the kitchen.â Westley still didnât believe that his wife could cook and he wasnât even ready to agree with what Sophie was saying. âMr. Morris, please donât say that in front of her. She would be very disappointed. I will keep an eye on her. Just make sure you come back early tonight, âshe reminded him repeatedly. âLetâs talk about this later. Iâm caught up in the middle of something.â When she heard this, she decided to stop talking. âOkay, sure.â He had already hung up the phone.
After some time, Jonas came over, followed closely by Alexis âWestley, youâre going too far with this. Why didnât you tell us, your brothers that you were going to get married? Why didnât you tell us that you changed your bride temporarily?â Alexis jokingly asked Westley.
âThere is nothing to share with you, Alexis. Besides, you arenât supposed to be back until next month. Why did you come back ahead of time?â Westley asked, raising his eyebrows.
Last month, there was a new project he was working on in another city, and he had only been there for a few days. It was novel.
âHow dare you say that? If Jonas hadnât told me that you were married, I wouldnât have known it. Why the secrecy? So I came back on purpose to see who your wife is. So tell me, whose daughter is she?
Alexis asked curiously as he sat on a chair.
Westley raised his head and took a brief look at him in an unfriendly way. He didnât want to answer his question, thereby satisfying his curiosity.
For him, Gabrielle was just an adopted daughter of the Jones family and so, there was nothing to be curious about âItâs not something worth celebrating. Thereâs no need for everyone to be informed,â he said coldly.
To him, he just married her to make Miley happy. He was abandoned by Nellie, his bride before marriage, which was a very shameful thing, so he would not want to tell anyone about it.
âOkay, okay. Itâs fine. I donât mind if you keep a low profile and keep your marriage a secret. But as your good friend, can I see your wife?â Alexis proposed âYes. Canât we meet her already?â Jonas supported him.
âThere is no need to see her. Itâs not necessary,â he refused bluntly.
âOkay, I wonât see her today. But I came back because of you. Letâs have dinner together tonight, okay?â Alexis didnât have to meet that woman just like Jonas did. Since she was Westleyâs wife, he would still meet her sooner or later.
âHe is going back home to have dinner with his wife. He wonât eat with us since we are still bachelors,â Jonas said with a sneer on his face.
âYou donât have to go. Iâll eat with Alexis,â Westley said as he took a brief look at Jonas, which pissed him off.
âWestley, did you say that on purpose?â Jonas was angry and this showed in the way he looked at Westley.
âIâm not in the mood to argue with you, Jonas. Book a restaurant, Alexis,â Westley said, looking at Alexis âBut then again, donât you need to go back to be with your wife?â Alexis asked as he hesitated to book the restaurant.
âNo!â he yelled. âShe will eat by herself when Iâm not there,â he concluded.
In that case, Alexis felt that there was nothing more he could say.
Westley knew that his wife was going to prepare dinner for him, but he didnât go back on purpose so that he could spite her. He wanted to let her know that it wouldnât be easy to forgive her if she annoyed him.
âDoes she think I can just forgive her because she cooked me a meal?â he asked himself. She even took someone to the hospital to beat his bodyguards. The guts she had!
âThis little woman is so bold that if I donât teach her a lesson, she wonât learn,â he thought to himself.
Alexis booked a place in one of the restaurants which were part of his numerous properties. In this way, they could continue to drink even after dinner and no one would be able to disturb them.
They waited for Westley to finish up with his work before they went to have dinner together. At the same time, they also called Remy to join them.
He was the last to arrive. After they entered the private room, all the dishes were served. He sat down next to Westley and took out an ointment from his pocket and gave it to him.
âTake it back for Gabby. She needs to use it to get rid of the scars on her face,â Remy told Westley. As Gabrielleâs doctor, he was responsible for removing the scars on her face.
Westley looked at the ointment with indifference and said, âDonât you both get along really well? Send it to her by yourself, or better still, ask her to come and get it from you in the hospital. Donât disturb me with petty matters.â
âWhy does he sound jealous?â Remy smiled as he thought about this.
Inwardly, he was very happy. âCould it be that it is because I called her Gabby that made him jealous and upset?â he thought deeply.
âThis is a good sign, âhe mused.
âArenât you going back home tonight? You can give it to her when you go back,â Remy said that on purpose.
âWho said Iâm going back tonight?â he asked, looking at Remy sternly. âI wonât go back until I am drunk, okay?â he said lightly.
Jonas and Alexis sensed that something was wrong.
âDid the newly married couple fight? they asked each other as they gave themselves puzzled looks.
It was indeed a temporary marriage. How could they be happy?
