Lock You In My Heart Chapter 402
Lock You In My Heart
Lolita had always been smart enough to tell what Vivianâs purpose was. Obviously, the woman wanted to create a rift between Lolita and Gabrielle.
âIâm not stupid enough to believe something as dumb as that!â she thought to herself.
Lolita tilted her head to one side while glancing at Gabrielle. âWhatâs new, Gabrielle? Did Vivian tell you something interesting?â
âItâs not a big deal, actually. Itâs not even worth mentioning it.â Gabrielle refused to answer it, and sheâd rather not listen to anything that came out of Vivianâs mouth, either. Nothing good would come out of it. Even if she didnât go, Lolita would probably have to. âWho knows what Vivian is up to?â she thought to herself.
âWhatever. Sheâs probably up to no good.â
âAll Iâm saying, Gabrielle, is that itâs a hundred percent great suggestion. Are you sure you donât want to share it with Lolita?â
Vivian raised her eyebrows and smirked, like a bonafide villainess.
Gabrielle had found out about her news, so she brought it up. âLolita, Vivian is offering us a chance to learn from our seniors.
Would you like to come?â
Her words stunned Lolita for a moment, causing her to blink repeatedly. âA chance to learn from our seniors, huh? Gabrielle, how about you? Would you like to go?â
Lolita was well aware of Gabrielleâs personality. The latter obviously didnât want to go there. For all they knew, Vivian just might be planning to play them for a fool.
Thus, Lolita decided not to agree.
âThanks, but I think weâre fine as it is. Besides, itâs getting late, and weâre planning to get dinner somewhere,â she said with a smile.
âIs that so? You know, this might be the only chance someone like you could have. Youâd best think it through. Or perhaps you just donât have the nerve to come with me?â It seemed that Vivian figured out that gently convincing them wouldnât work, so she changed her strategy by prodding them with such provocative words.
âWhy wouldnât we have the nerve? We simply donât feel like going. Thatâs all.â Gabrielle wasnât that easy to provoke. And she wasnât going to let Vivian look down upon her.
âReally? Do you really not want to or are you just scared?â Vivian walked towards Gabrielle and leaned closer to the latterâs ear.
âI know about you and Mr. Morris. You donât want your good friend to find out about that, do you?â
Those words rendered Gabrielle speechless. âWhat a conniving woman Vivian is! Sheâs using my relationship with Westley as a blackmail?â
Vivian had mistaken Westley as Gabrielleâs lover, but she still used it to threaten her.
Indeed, she was quite a daredevil.
Gabrielle certainly knew what Vivian using the Westley card. It would be a pity if all of her âeffortsâ were to go in vain.
âIf choice but to go with her,â Gabrielle thought to herself.
Chances were that all of the seniors they would learn from were prominent figures of the jewelry industry. Even if Vivian had something despicable in mind, she wouldnât be able to do them in public.
This meant that Gabrielle had nothing to worry about. She simply didnât think that Vivian had the capability of causing even a little bit of chaos.
Besides, she could always count mentioned him, she wouldâve nearly forgotten about it.
In case something were to happen, Gabrielle figured she could ask Westley for help. After all, he had promised to protect and help her during any kind of trouble.
She had complete faith in him, for he was truly a powerful man.
With someone as excellent as him to rely on, she simply had nothing to fear, let alone someone like Vivian.
âIâm not even scared in her heart.
V ivian was nothing but a cowardly bully. She was always taking advantage of meek and kindhearted people.
Gabrielle avoided contact with her before, simply because she didnât want to get into any trouble.
However, this meek behavior only made Vivian think that she was a coward and frightened of her.
For that same reason, Vivian found various ways to bully Gabrielle into doing things for her from time to time.
âShe probably wants to humiliate me in public this time. In that case, itâs time to settle the score with her!â
âSure, why not? Besides, Lolita and I can certainly learn something from them. Thank you for giving us this opportunity.
Otherwise, people like us would never be qualified to be a member.â Gabrielle put on a bright smile, pretending to be grateful to Vivian.
Vivian, on the other hand, was very satisfied by Gabrielleâs reaction. She was certainly a savage lady.
âShe isnât a woman from some big family, who resorts to seducing men to get ahead in life. Such poor decorum means that she has nothing to be proud of.
Westley may think that Gabrielle is his lover, but no one can be sure how long that feeling would last. When the time comes that he no longer likes her, sheâll be nothing but a pathetic woman abandoned by her man!â
Vivian thought, as if she had something to brag about.
âGood to know. When we get there later, please behave yourselves and donât cause any trouble. As long as you listen to what I say, I can take you somewhere like this.â She then raised her chin, showing how proud she was of herself.
Lolita really disliked how snobbish Vivian was. âSheâs just an average designer with a little bit of talent. Who would give a damn about her? This arrogant, pretentious excuse for a human being! Bitch!â she cursed inwardly.
âDonât worry, Vivian, weâll be well-behaved, and weâll try not to cause trouble. Weâd be really grateful to you if you could take us to another occasion like this one next time,â Gabrielle replied. She held Lolitaâs hand tightly, in case she wouldnât be able to stifle her anger and prevent herself from darting forward to tear Vivian a new one.
This wasnât the right time to be at odds with Vivian.
âGabrielle, have I ever told you how smart and self-aware you are? That is exactly what the younger generation is supposed to be!â Gabrielle deliberately humbled her, and expressed her admiration for Vivian. The latter looked very satisfied with the compliments.
To her, it seemed as though Gabrielle was clever enough to behave in the manner she wanted her to. âPerhaps she knows that her relationship with Westley is temporary,â Vivian thought to herself.
âFor a man like Westley, changing girlfriends is probably as easy as changing clothes, even on a daily basis!
After all, the only thing Gabrielle has going for her is her pretty face. Men might find her attractive at first, but once they get bored of her, theyâll abandon her right away! So, she might as well try to please me and beg me to meet the masters of the jewelry industry. It could be beneficial for her, after all!
I guess sheâs not completely stupid.
Sheâs indeed worth teaching,â Vivian thought to herself.
All of a sudden, she became delighted, and her dislike of Gabrielle wasnât that intense anymore. âIf only she stayed away from Jason.
Gabrielle probably thinks she can count on Jason after she and Westley separate.â
When that thought crossed Vivianâs mind, she became furious.
âYouâre absolutely right, Vivian. So, where are we going tonight?â Gabrielle asked with sincerity.
âGo hail a cab and then follow my car.â Having said that, Vivian strutted away in her high heels.
She certainly wouldnât allow them to sit in her car, because she thought they didnât deserve it. Moreover, they would probably ruin her car.
