Chapter 397: 397: The First Loss in My Life_1
My Ex-Husband Is Proposing Again
For the first time in his life, Ye Qilan realized how terrifying it was to lose something.
Just yesterday, he was on a movie date with Su Hongxing. Although the date ended abruptly halfway, it was at least their first date.
When he left in the morning, he kissed Su Hongxingâs belly and bade farewell to the mother and child.
He even said heâd name the childâ¦
How on earth could Su Hongxing bleed so much when she was perfectly fine?
Ye Qilan suddenly opened his eyes: âAge, drive back!â
Without knowing what had happened, Age immediately drove back to the villa.
Very soon, everyone was gathering in the living room at Ye Qilanâs call.
Ye Qilan spoke to each individual in turn, hoping to find any anomalies in Su Hongxingâs recent behaviour.
When it was Xiaoleâs turn, she thought hard about it and hesitantly said, âThere seems to be nothing wrong.â
Aunt Ning, an old servant of the Ye Family, took care of all of Su Hongxingâs meals. Surely she wouldnât harm Su Hongxing through her meals?
Ye Qilanâs gaze finally rested on Du Qingyuâs face.
Seeing Ye Qilan suspect her, Du Qingyu wasnât flustered. She calmly said, âI rarely spend time at the villa, and I donât talk much with Miss Su. Sometimes I donât see her all day, so thereâs not much to say.â
The problem inside Su Hongxingâs stomach was gone, but there was no way Ye Qilan would blame it on her!
In the end, Old Master Ye intervened, dispersing everyone.
âQilan, thereâs no need to be overly suspicious. Itâs just an accident that Miss Su had a miscarriage.â Old Master Ye said gravely.
With Su Hongxing missing, their priority should be to ensure her safety.
Without further ado, Ye Qilan left the villa and headed towards the Cao Familyâs house.
Guan Ya was surprised to see Ye Qilan suddenly appear at the Cao Familyâs house: âQilan, why are you here?â
âIâm here to see Uncle. Is he not at home?â Ye Qilan looked around the room.
He was somewhat surprised not to see Cao Shiyu around at this time.
âHeâs still at work, he wonât be home so soon. Why donât you wait here?â Guan Ya had a servant serve tea to Ye Qilan.
As it turned, Ye Qilan ended up waiting till nine in the evening before Cao Zhen came home with a briefcase.
Seeing Ye Qilan, Cao Zhen remained expressionless: âYouâre looking for me?â
âHow is Su Hongxing doing?â Ye Qilan blurted out.
Cao Zhen gave him a long stare: âIsnât Miss Su living in your villa? Why are you asking me about her?â
âUncle, how is she really doingâ¦â
Cao Zhen called a guard to escort Ye Qilan away and ordered in front of Ye Qilan: âDonât let anybody enter casually from now on.â
Cao Zhenâs reaction confirmed Ye Qilanâs belief that Su Hongxing had indeed been taken away by Cao Zhen.
Could this mean that Su Hongxingâs life is no longer in danger?
âSir, itâs not a solution to stay here. Have a good rest tonight, and follow Cao Zhen tomorrow. We will certainly find Miss Su.â Age advised Ye Qilan, who was unwilling to leave the entrance of the courtyard.
An hour later, Ye Qilan returned to the villa.
As he passed the master bedroom, he opened the door and peeked inside. He didnât know if he was imagining things, but the smell of blood seemed to be even stronger now.
He then went to the bedroom where Su Hongxing had been sleeping recently. He saw the half-read magazine and the half-knitted baby sweater.
He remembered how she sat in the sunlight, clumsily knitting the babyâs sweater. She had promised him that sheâd knit one for him too.
In the end, the babyâs sweater was not completed, and it seemed the sweater she promised to knit for him wouldnât be made either.
