Chapter 1095
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

How could this be possible?
How could Belinda have not been infected?
A wave of crushing disappointment surged through Verena.
It wasnât just disappointmentâshe also felt furious.
Damn it! Why was Belinda so lucky?
After everything, how had she managed to evade disaster once again?
Fate was far too kind to her!
Verenaâs face darkened, the facade of feigned concern crumbling as her true emotions bled through.
But Belinda wasnât done yet. Her smirk deepened, her voice saccharine as she delivered the final blow. âOh, and one more thingâI have even better news for you.â She paused just long enough to make sure Verena was hanging onto her every word. âLucas and I⦠we are together now.â
At those words, Verena felt something inside her snap.
Her heart seethed with resentment.
Why? Why was life so unfair to her?
She had done so much within her power to orchestrate Belindaâs downfall, and yet, here Belinda stood, unscathed and victorious.
Verenaâs hands clenched into trembling fists, her nails digging into her palms.
But before Verena could say anything, Belindaâs expression shifted, growing cold.
gⱯlnÏνð®âsâ¤cóm is your escape Her voice dropped, a quiet yet unmistakable threat laced within her words. âVerena, let me make this crystal clearâLucas is mine now. Stay away from him. If you donât, I wonât hesitate to teach you a lesson.â
With a glance of sheer contempt, she added, âNow, take your things and leave!â
Before Verena could retort, Belinda turned on her heel and disappeared into the hospital room, shutting the door behind her with finality.
Verena glared at the closed door, her chest heaving with suppressed fury. It was only when she stumbled back to her car that she realized how numb she felt.
Sinking into the driverâs seat, she inhaled sharply, her hands shaking as she reached for her second phone and dialed a number.
âHello.â A womanâs voice echoed from the other end.
Verenaâs jaw tightened. âBelinda⦠sheâs not infected with HIV.â
âWhat?â Kyleeâs voice shifted instantly, her tone sharp and disbelieving.
Verena gritted her teeth. âI just saw her myself. She said it outrightâher initial blood test was tampered with. She was never infected in the first place.â Her words dripped with barely concealed resentment.
Silence stretched on Kyleeâs end of the line.
Kylee sat motionless in her car, her hands trembling. And then, without warning, tears began streaming down her face.
After what felt like an eternity, she lowered her gaze to the paper clutched in her handsâher own blood test results. It was fresh from the hospital. Under the HIV status column, a single word glared back at herâ¦
It was positive!
Kylee had tested positive for HIV.
Her heart pounded violently in her chest, her breathing erratic. A wave of suffocating despair washed over her, threatening to drag her into an abyss. Just moments ago, she had clung to a single shred of solace: that even though she was doomed, at least she had taken Belinda down with her.
