Chapter 193
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

âMadonna,â she began, each word dripping with contempt, âyouâd better humble yourself and apologize to my mother, or elseâ¦â
Madonna scoffed upon hearing that, her anger flaring. Belinda wanted her to apologize to that shameless woman? That was absurd. She would never do that!
âAre you threatening me right now?â Madonna said, her voice rising. âWhat can you possibly do to me?â
Belinda smiled, a knowing glint in her eye. âI wonât do anything to you,â she said calmly. âBut the Barnett familyâs company⦠Well, thatâs a different story. The company might suffer if you donât apologize to my mother.â
She was using her connections to intimidate Madonna, to manipulate her. But why not? Since Madonna hadnât played fair, why would she?
Madonnaâs face darkened, her eyes narrowing. âDonât you dare!â she hissed.
Then, a flicker of something crossed her face. Her lips curled into a sneer. âYou think you can hurt the Barnett familyâs company just because you say so? Do you really have that much power?â
Belinda shrugged nonchalantly. âBelieve it or not, it doesnât matter. Just ask your dear brother about Ryan and the Adams family. Heâll fill you in.â
Then, you can decide whether to apologize to my mother or not.â
Madonnaâs face twisted into a mask of fury. She clenched her jaw, and her eyes narrowed into slits as she glared at Belinda. âYou can dream on!â she spat, her voice venomous. âI will never apologize to your mother! She is a shameless homewrecker!â
A dangerous glint flashed in Belindaâs eyes. She was about to unleash a torrent of fury, but then, she suddenly thought of something. A slow, calculating smile spread across her face as she locked eyes with Madonna.
gⱯlnÏνeðsâ¤com has the stories you love âOh, Madonna,â she said, her voice dripping with contempt, âyou seem to have forgotten a little detail about your past. You do remember how you managed to marry Albin before, right?â
Madonnaâs face paled. Her eyes widened in shock and fear as she stammered, âWhat⦠What are you talking about?â
Belinda leaned forward, her voice low and menacing. âLet me refresh your memory then,â she said. âYou saw Albin, a handsome young man, and you wanted him. So, you tricked him. You drugged him and slept with him, forcing him to marry you. All while he was engaged to another woman.â
Madonnaâs face turned a sickly shade of white. She tried to say something to defend herself, but the words caught in her throat.
Belinda continued, âAnd letâs not forget how you showed up at the Barnett familyâs doorstep, pregnant and demanding to marry Albin. That was when Albin and his fiancée were already preparing to get married. A real classy move, Aunt Madonna.â With that, Belinda started clapping.
Madonnaâs expression turned livid. âThis is nonsense! How did you know this?â
âNonsense?â Belinda smirked. âAccording to Kylee, itâs the truth. She told me that your dear brother had revealed everything to her while he was drunk.â
âAre you saying that Baker lied about this?â
It was indeed Kylee who had revealed the truth to Belinda. Back then, Kylee had spoken of Madonna with so much disdain and contempt. Belinda had been furious about the matter as well. Later, after seeing Kyleeâs true colors, Belinda had realized the real target of Kyleeâs words hadnât been Madonna at all. Kylee had said that to insult Holley subtly.
Madonna felt a surge of anger as she silently cursed Kylee and Baker. Before she could respond, Belinda continued, âYou climbed your way to the top as a homewrecker yourself. Now, youâre standing on a moral high ground, judging others? I feel embarrassed for you. Tell me, Aunt Madonna, are you really any better than my mother?â
