Chapter 468
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Belinda laughed heartily at that. Then, she said, âAlright, alright! I know your intentions were good, and Iâm very grateful for your efforts, Mr. Hoffman. But didnât I help you too? Cathy didnât end up going to Soling that day.â
âThatâs true,â Johnson admitted with a sheepish grin. He was about to say more when Belindaâs phone rang.
Belinda took it out and answered the call. âMollie.â
âBelinda, donât forget about your blind date tonight,â Mollie reminded her over the phone.
âI know!â Belinda replied with a touch of resignation. âTonight at seven, at the Millland Restaurant, right?â
âYes, thatâs right!â Mollie replied with a smile. âDonât worry, Mollie. Iâll be there on time,â Belinda assured her.
âThatâs good. Iâll be at home, waiting for your good news. Well, I wonât disturb you any further.â
âBye!â With that, Mollie hung up as abruptly as she had called.
âAnother blind date tonight?â Johnson asked as Belinda put her phone away.
Belinda heaved a resigned sigh before nodding. âYeah, Mollie has been arranging them left and right. She has me going on a blind date every two days!â
When Johnson heard that, a complicated mix of emotions crossed his face. He quickly composed himself and cleared his throat. âIf you donât want to go, why not just refuse her?â
Belinda shook her head and explained, âMollieâs been working so hard to find me a suitable match. Sheâs screening men from all over the country. She doesnât care about my rejectionsâat least, not really. I know her main goal is for me to meet other men. She just hopes it will help me forget Lucas faster. How can I refuse such kind intentions? Iâll just have a meal with them, anyway. Nothing ever comes of these dates, so theyâre no big deal. Mollieâs excitement will fade eventually, and sheâll stop arranging them sooner or later.â
A wistful look entered her eyes, and a faint smile tugged at the corner of her lips when she added, âBesides, maybe Iâll actually meet someone I like on one of these blind dates.â
Johnsonâs gaze grew intense. âBelinda⦠Are you sure you want to let go of Lucas completely?â
âOf course.â Belindaâs response was swift and resolute.
Johnson straightened, his expression turning serious. âBelinda⦠If, by some chance, Lucas realizes he has fallen for you⦠If that happens, are you willing to give himâor the both of youâanother chance?â
âNot a chance!â Belinda shot back without hesitation, her voice firm.
When Johnson heard that, his expression froze instantly. He was caught off guard by Belindaâs bluntness, without even a momentâs pause.
Johnsonâs brows furrowed in confusion as he asked, âWhy not? Belinda, donât you still have feelings for him?â
