Kylee panicked, blurting out, âI-I didnât. I didnât mean to do that.â
Carolaâs frown deepened as she interjected, âKylee, when did you start harboring such animosity towards Belinda?â
âThatâs not true! Iâ¦â Kylee said, instinctively denying it.
Carola sighed heavily. âEnough. I donât want to hear any more excuses.â
With that, she turned to gaze out the window.

Belinda pressed her lips together and shot him an impatient look. âIf your hand hurts, go to a doctor. Do you expect me to have a quick fix or something?â
Lucas gave her a pleading look. âCould you grab some ointment and apply it to my hand for me?â
âCanât you do that yourself?â Belinda snapped back.
Lucas said, âI got hurt because of you. Isnât that worth a small favor?â
Belinda was at a loss for words.
She wanted to remind him that he was the one who had decided to beat that man.
Yet, she restrained herself.
With clenched teeth, she said, âThereâs no pharmacy nearby. Where do you expect me to find ointment for your injured hand?â
Lucasâs expression brightened. âI know thereâs a pharmacy not far away from here! Letâs go.â
Before Belinda could object, Lucas had already taken her hand and was leading the way.
Belinda fought to free herself from Lucasâs grip. âLet go!â Her eyes blazed as she looked up at Lucas, her voice filled with defiance. âLucas, consider this a final warningâdonât you dare touch me again!â
Lucasâs eyes narrowed momentarily before he broke into a sly grin. âFine, Iâll keep my hands to myself and only use my mouth.â
