Chapter 577
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Even though the bodyguard had told him that Belinda wasnât hurt, he was still beside himself with worry. He couldnât think of anything else other than seeing Belinda right away.
His frantic heart only calmed down when he saw with his own eyes that she was fine.
Meanwhile, Belinda was rather uncomfortable with her ankle resting on Lucasâ lap. She tried to pull away, saying, âI can press the ice pack myself.â
âDonât move,â Lucas said, pinning her lower leg in place.
After a brief pause, he added, âDonât worry; Iâll leave right after doing this.â
That made Belinda glance over at his face, but she refrained from saying anything.
Neither of them had any idea how much time had passed when Lucas finally set Belindaâs leg down. The ice pack had done its job, and the swelling had all but gone.
Just then, the door to the emergency room flew open.
Belinda jumped to her feet, eager to speak to the doctor.
âSlow down,â Lucas cautioned as he reached out to hold her arm and support her toward the door.
The doctor nodded to acknowledge Belinda. âThe patient has fractures in the left rib and left leg, and her left arm is dislocated. Luckily, she sustained no damage to her internal organs. Weâve already treated her injuries.â
Belinda breathed a sigh of relief.
âThank you, doctor,â she said.
âYouâre welcome. Weâre only doing our jobs.â With that, the doctor left.
Soon after, Holley was wheeled out and taken to a private ward.
Lucas accompanied Belinda all the way to her motherâs hospital room. They hadnât been there long when Kenia and Sarai arrived.
âHow is your mother, Belinda? Is she out of danger now?â Kenia asked, visibly anxious as she hurried to Holleyâs bedside.
âDonât worry, Grandma,â Belinda reassured her. âMy mother is out of danger. She has a few fractures, but nothing too serious.â
Kenia felt relieved after hearing that. At that moment, she noticed Lucas standing nearby.
âKenia,â Lucas greeted her.
A mix of emotions crossed Keniaâs face. After seemingly debating something within herself, she asked, âDo you have a moment, Mr. Clark? Iâd like to speak with you alone.â
âOf course.â Lucas nodded.
They exited the room and chose a quiet spot in the corridor to talk.
