Chapter 927
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

âThen what are we supposed to do now? You worked so hard for nearly a month just to land that role! It wasnât easy ticking off all of Director Fullerâs requirements. Are we really just going to let this chance slip?â
Mitchellâs jaw clenched.
âWhat other choice do we have?â
Since Lucas had made his order clear, no one would dare go against his word. If Director Fuller refused the order, his movie might not even get released altogether!
No one in their right mind would dare challenge Lucas.
âMaybe,â the agent said tentatively.
âMaybe we should go and try to talk to Mr. Clark?â
âItâs useless,â Mitchell said in a calm voice.
His family had always had a good relationship with the Clark family. In the past, he and Lyle had even gotten along fine with Lucas. Despite this, Lucas had shown no regard for their ties and still targeted his career. That only proved one thingâBelinda mattered more to Lucas.
Mitchell waved a hand at his agent, his face grim.
âThatâs enough now. Just leave me alone for a while.â
The agent hesitated, looking like he wanted to say more. But after he took another look at Mitchellâs expression, he just nodded before walking out of the lounge.
Just then, Mitchellâs phone buzzed with a new message.
Mitchell unlocked his phone and checked the message.
Carola had sent him a photo.
Mitchell clicked on it.
It was a photo of the disciplinary notice posted on the Grand Plains General Hospitalâs bulletin board.
Mitchellâs expression changed drastically as he read the contents of the notice. He shot up from the couch in shock.
How was this possible?
He immediately called Carola.
âDid you see it?â Carola said as soon as the call connected.
âHow could this be possible? Kylee would never lie to me!â Mitchell was still in denial.
Carola said in a calm voice, âNothing is impossible.â
After a pause, she added, âThe truth of the matter is clear as day. Itâs also clear that you have wrongly accused Belinda. Make sure to find some time to go and apologize to her.â
Mitchell didnât reply.
âDid you hear what I said, Mitchell?â Carola said, her voice sharper this time.
âIf you hadnât falsely accused Belinda and left that comment on your social media, your fans wouldnât have gone after her, and the disaster that followed would have never happened! This is your mistake, so itâs only right that you take responsibility for your errors. Wouldnât you agree?â
