Chapter 959
His unwanted wife, the world’s coveted genius

Lucasâ expression changed at her revelation.
That was a bold suspicion.
After a pause, Lucas asked, âAnd what do you think?â
Belinda swallowed, her throat suddenly dry.
âIâm not sure. I donât want to believe it, but certain things she has done wouldnât make sense if she were my mother.â
Lucas said, âI can arrange a paternity test for you.â
Holley had always struck him as an enigmaâcontradictory, unreadable. Something about her unsettled him, but he had never entertained the possibility that she wasnât Belindaâs mother until now. Johnsonâs suspicion had planted a seed in his mind.
And if Holley truly wasnât Belindaâs mother, then some of her actions over the years would finally start to make sense. A paternity test was the only way to know for sure.
Belinda didnât answer immediately, uncertainty flickering across her face.
After a long pause, she exhaled shakily.
âI need time to think first.â A sudden fear crept over herâfear of knowing the truth.
Lucas studied her for a moment before nodding.
âAlright.â
He then held out his arms.

When they reached her front door, Lucas was about to set her down so she could enter the passcode herself. But before he could, she told him the passcode.
Lucas froze for a second, surprised that she would tell him that.
Did this mean she was starting to trust him? The thought made Lucas smile.
His mood visibly lifted as he punched in the numbers and carried Belinda inside.
After settling her on the couch, his voice softened.
âGo take a shower. Iâll make you some coffee.â
Belinda gave a small nod.
âOkay.â
By the time Belinda emerged from the shower, Lucas was already in her room, waiting.
After watching Belinda take a few sips of coffee, Lucas took the initiative to say goodbye.
âGet some rest. Iâll be going now.â
âLucas!â Belinda quickly stopped him.
Lucas turned back, his tone gentle.
âYeah? Need something?â
