Chapter 88
Hitched & Hitched Again: A Comedy of Marital Mayhem ( Elysia and Tarquin)
He was determined to meet âhis wifeâ himself, to see if there indeed was such a powerful figure behind her!
The next morning, Elysia was jolted awake by the shrill ring of her cellphone.
It was Zane calling.
Blearily opening her eyes, Elysia answered, âHello?â
âElysia, itâs me, Zane.â
âI know. I saved your number yesterday. Whatâs up, you need something?â
âNothing major, just a bit worried about you. Sorry about last night. I had one too many and just woke up. You alright?â
Elysia knew he was referring to the altercation with Gage.
âIâm fine, donât worry about me.â
âGage hasnât been giving you any more trouble, has he?â
âNo, he hasnât.â
Zane let out a sigh of relief, âThatâs good to hear. Where are you at? You out of bed yet?â
âNot yet. Blossomâs with me at this temporary place Iâm staying at. But, yeah, we should probably get up.â
âWell, send me your location. Iâll come over and bring you guys some breakfast.â
âWait, youâre coming over?â
âYeah, is that not okay?â
âItâs not that. I know youâre busy, and if youâre just concerned about me, you donât have to come. Iâm really okay.â
Zane replied with a chuckle, âNo matter how busy, Iâve got to check on you. Plus, Iâm not busy today;
itâs Sunday, my day off.â
Elysia was about to protest when Zane added, âWinonaâs been looking for you for years. Now that youâve finally shown up, if I donât come to see you, sheâd kill me. Iâm visiting on her behalf.â
With that, Elysia had no ground to refuse.
âAlright, Iâll send you my location.â
09:48 After hanging up, Blossom asked, âZaneâs coming over?â
Yeah, he says heâs coming on behalf of Winona.â
âQuite the survival Instinct heâs got. If Winona knew you were back and Zane didnât visit, sheâd definitely have his head.â
Elysia just smiled, âThatâs what he said himself.â
Neither of them thought much of it. Since a gentleman was visiting, they quickly got out of bed to freshen up.
Elysia was unaware that Royal Community had tried to call her last night. Her phone showed no missed calls.
After drinking heavily, the mere thought of Royal Community issues was distressing. Under the influence, in a fit of irritation, she had blocked the number.
Now that the alcohol had worn off, sheâd completely forgotten about blocking the call. So, the number from Royal Community was still lying dormant in her blacklist.
Blossom headed to the bathroom first, while Elysia went to check on the three little ones.
The trio were still sound asleep, having gone to bed late the night before, they hadnât awakened yet.
Seeing the children, Elysiaâs heart warmed. She tucked them in properly and started tidying up.
She and Blossom had not had the chance to clean up after last nightâs drinking session.
Half an hour later, Zane arrived.
Elysia stood at the doorway, greeting him warmly into the house.
Unbeknownst to them, someone was taking photos from a distance, and these pictures would soon be in Tarquinâs hands.
Lowell reported to Tarquin, âAs per your instructions, weâve been tracking Zane and captured these photos. No wonder we couldnât find Ms. Thorneâs address; turns out sheâs staying at Wheatfield Homestay. The ownerâs son is a hacker, not famous, but with connections to some pretty skilled ones.
Their cybersecurity is topânotch.â
If their cybersecurity was that impressive, it must come with a hefty price tag.
Tarquin frowned, âI thought Elysia was broke? Whereâs she getting the money for such a fancy place?â
