Fighting the Hydra - 17

Erica's POV

I hummed as I sat down and continued watching Takeo slowly resting his body. His eyes were closed and his breathing seemed normal and his wounds were healing. I pulled out my grimoire from my ring and looked at the notes and cutes drawings of spells and a person who is like a chibi form of Erica, casting the spell.

'Erica could have been an artist if it weren't for the fact that her whole life has been laid out for her.'

I smiled wryly at the thought of being controlled by someone. I pulled out my wand that is 11 inches in length, a small purple and red gem placed near where im holding, wooden vines were like holding it in place, and it was quiet bend and flexible. I began practicing on other types of magic elements as I began to stratigize a way to defeat the hydra.

In the greek mythology, to defeat the hydra, you were to chop off its head and burn the part where its been cut off so no extra 2 head would appear after. In the books of this world, they say that the hydra was a god beast level monster and was only killed once by a bunch of mages, wizards, and knights attacking it at once. It didn't tell how they killed it but it was part of the history of this world that they talked about in class.

I then went flipped through the pages and looked at its organized pages and saw something I never thought existed. > a spell which works as a communication magic to talk to other people even if they are far away or in another universe. Is this what the real Erica used earlier? Surely it is since this is the only spell I saw that can truly talk to me even if Im so far away. I looked at its contents and found out that is uses a lot of your mana. I then though of an idea and began to stretch my arms and stood up and dusted the dust off my clothes.

I the positione my hand that is holding my wand near my mouth and began speaking the chant. "Oh, the power of the god of messenger- Hermes heed my call. I, Erica Jane Bon Teligent request your help and hope to talk to Jack Snow. I give you my thanks to your help and time to heed my call, >" a bright dot suddenly appeared and it largened and was now surronding me. I was suddenly transported into a white space and there a blue bright man appeared.

The blue light disappeared and a man with perfect tan skin, well defined muscles, wearing a blue chiton and leather boots with wings. His hair was black and smooth cutted shortly almost like a pixie cut. He held his Caduceus, a short staff entwined by two serpents with wings as he stood regally in front of me.

"I am the God of Messenger, your God of messenger! Hermes!" He proudly proclaimed.

"Hello, God of Messenger, Hermes. May I speak to my friend, Jack Snow." I politely asked to the god while kneeling down.

"Why of course, Misha! Or Erica- I should say..." He then clapped his hands and a classic living room appeared and I sat down on one of the sofas. Hermes disappeared somewhere and there appeared Jack Snow in his suit.

His eyes widened at my appearance. "Erica!? What the heck just happened? Wasn't I at the party just now?" He looked around with his mouth wide open.

I smiled. "Im not sure how much time I have but- can you tell me about what is happening with the game. Eversince I left like a few months ago, for some reason I saw, Rose, Christopher, Harrison and Robert in an adventerer's guild. What's the situation?"

He sighed. "I don't really know. I just heard that classes have been cancelled since the demon king has been active a lot recently nowadays. Maybe due to your leaving, the game started to do it early." He shrugged.

"Well- This game was made so that when the villain gets turned into a commoner, for some reason she becomes the new demon queen which the prophecy will be given to you when you went on adventuring. The creators never really explained the details regarding how but Im currently trying to fight a hydra right now to get the weapon of mass destruction I think." I breath in a lot of oxygen nd breath out. I even my breathing and looked at Jack, thinking about what I said.

"Well I guess your mean't to be the new demon queen. Your engagement has been nullified, correct? If so, then I guess you can marry him." He jokingly said. I rolled my eyes and saw Takeo suddenly appearing in the living room for communication, rubbing his eyes.

"What happened?" He touched his side the check the wound that he got from impacting agains't a wall.

"You should lay down and rest up. Don-'t move too much." I made him sit down again as I looked at the confused Jack looking at me.

"I was talking to Takeo..." I looked away, slightly embarrased. I coughed and looked at him seriously. I need your help. How do you defeat a hydra?"

"Wait.. let me search..." He then pulled out his phone and nodded as his eyes move from left to right going downwards.

"Its unkillable." I slapped my forehead. "I know. Should I follow the greek story on how to defeat the hydra?"

"I guess. You know greek mythology?"

"Yeah."

"My friend did too."

"I never got to know your real name."

"Well, its-" The living room suddenly disappeared and out came out Hermes once more.

"You have exceeded your time limit. So very sorry. I must now return to Olympus. Farewell mortal!" He the left in the speed of light and now Im back at the cold, dark cave with Takeo. I blink my eyes a few more times and looked at Takeo. His eyes were shut and his wound seemed to be healing. I stretched my arms and pulled out my wand and procceded to heal him once more.

I almost passed out from healing him but stopped myself on time. I looked at the magic watch on my wrist and proceeded to get the raw materials for cooking the food. I tied my hair so it won't get in the way and started to prepare the food.

After eating, I began writting and thinking of a plan to fight the Hydra that is guarding the second to the last door to get to the weapon. As I thought of Ellen, I get the necklace from the ring and gripped it tightly. I wore it around my neck and felt its cool smooth surface. The stars were shining brightly like it is excited that it could explode. It must be a sign that we are near the weapon. Ellen never told me what it looked like or how to use it but I do hope it's useful.

I then changed into an all black clothes like an assasin and tied my pastel violet hair into a ponytail leaving no strands at all and stood up. I then grabbed my wand and put it in my boot and grabbed my weapon and proceeded to walk quietly outside our safe area.

I looked around, my breathing was long and quiet and I supressed my bloodlust and began walking towards a torch. I grabbed it as quiet and slowly as I can to not wake up the hydra and glanced at his heads ever so often to make sure that its not awake and about to kill me.

I then went near one of its heads and see that its eyes were closed. It must be sleeping. I quickly chopped off its heads and burned it so that it cant reappear two more heads. I did it eith the other heads and now Im left with just one head. It was the immortal one, meaning I can't kill it.

His eyes suddenly opened as he roared out flames at my direction. I jumped away just in time and began to fight it. It was suprised to find that he was the only head and anger began to burst from him. He attacked more and only thought of killing her without thinking about anything. She then began her plan.

He went near his head at her to bite her but she quickly side stepped and the trap that she placed while running earlier worked and he was now trapped in vines with needles with poison making the Hydra unable to move from its spot. Realizing this, the Hydra tried to escape but it couldn't since it was a very powerful drug.

I then quickly chopped off its head and burned the part where I chopped it off and put the head under a rock so that it may not regrow. I wiped the sweat off my forehead and pat myself at the back for not peeing in my pants from that.

I went back to the cave and sat down near Takeo. His wounds have healed and I think he was okay now. My eyes started to become heavy and everything was now dark.
