Chapter 2: Magic exists!

Reincarnated?! The Quest To Find The Demon! ✔

(Edited)

3rd Person's POV

This morning was any other normal day, except for the fact that their Lady, which is Erica, is now kinder and more beautiful looking. The servants were a bit shocked and wary at the new Erica. The maids gossiped how she lost her memories and soon there was a new gossip on town saying that Lady Erica Jane Bon Teligent lost her memories, soon reaching the king's ears.

This world is almost the same as Earth except they have magic. Here, they have technologies but instead of the normal technologies as Earth, they use magic. For example, they use a lightning crystal for electrity. Even though their technologies, clothes and cultures are almost modern, they still have a king and have villages and such. The houses were not as modern though, base from the looks of it. When Erica looked out on her balcony, she sees the houses were like those fantasy games or movies that was set at the past era.

Erica then finished eating breakfast by herself since her 'parents' are busy with work and cannot eat together like last time. A few servants then quickly arrived and did a slight bow without looking at her eyes. They grabbed her plate and quickly left the room.

Erica stretched her arms and walked around the mansion accompanied by Ellen, her personal maid. She breathed in the fresh air of the mansion as she walks in an elegant manner following Ellen to the library.

She looked at the books in the library when suddenly, she spotted a book with pretty gold designs in the spine. She then grabbed it and blew away the dust and read the title, 'Basics of Magic'. She happily then sat in the nearest chair and looked at Ellen if she was allowed to read this. Ellen, amused at Erica's action nodded with a smile.

"We'll continue the lessons later." Ellen said. Erica nodded and proceeded to open it to the first page.

"Your power is >." Ellen said to Erica when she arrived at the first chapter.

"My power?" Erica asked, tilting her head slightly. Her long curvy pastel violet hair moved, Erica decided to change the usual hair style of the owner which was a twin tail drill hair. She didn't tie it to twin tails but instead let it down, making the bottom of her hairy twist into tiny purple drills.

"Yes. You have powers." Ellen said, smiling. "Im kinda glad you seem to have changed. You never read in the library unless necessary." She mentioned. "Your wand is also in your bag. Which is inside in a special case."

Erica smiled and didn't look straight into Ellen's eyes and spoke, "Ehehe... C-can you tell me more about magic. I'm still not a big fan of reading these kind of books." She says scratching her cheek. Ellen sighed at Erica and grabbed the book from her as she proceeded to look at the words of the book.

She then fake coughed in order to clear her throat and started explaining about magic,"Well actually- you can use fire without a wand, but you need to learn the chant for fire spells. But If you had a wand and lots of mana- you can do lots of other spells of different elements still needing to learn each chant of course. Imagination is highly useful when chanting a spells."

She then thought for a moment, "Your mana is about 5000, the average mana a noble can get is up to 500. You're very lucky, miss." Erica nodded in uderstanding.

Ellen suddenly stood up, "I'll be back. Pardon me." Ellen bowed.

"Your excused." Erica said.

Ellen then left to grab some things leaving Erica alone in the library. While waiting, Erica looked at the books on the shelves and grabbed one that caught her attention and saw the title. 'The Hero's Journey', a story of a hero that killed the demon queen. Putting the book about magic aside, she grabbed it to feel it's brand new leather cover.

'The Hero's Journey? Sounds like a children's book. Worth a shot I guess? I'll read it later.'

She kept the book next to her to read later in her free time. She continued to browse and saw a book about demons. She smiled and also took the book with her and heard the door open to see Ellen back, she smiled at her as Ellen bowed at her.

"If you allow it, would you like to see your magic? We will also test if you might have lost your magic after that incident..." She sadly said, clutching at her maid clothes. She still regretted the day when she let Miss Erica leave and because of that she lost her memories. 'What a terrible servant I am... although Lady Erica can be mean, she still has a kind heart inside. People just doesn't give her a chance, when she puts on her noble mask she becomes haughty and arrogant. It's a cruel world we live in.' Ellen smiled regretedly as she recalled the incident that happened a few days ago.

"I would love to!" Erica smiled happily as Ellen's heart softened to see her happy.

Erica the followed Ellen as they began to walk, their paces the same. Erica carried the three books tightly in her arms as her foot steps echoed in the dark oak wood floor. Old beautiful paintings placed in walls, small podium for vases with fresh flowers can be seen in every corner of the mansion.

As the silent walk continues, tears started to form in Erica's eyes as she now started crying silently, as she suddenly recalled her friends and their crazy antics with her and how they made her smile. She then grabbed her hankerchief and dabbed the sides of her eyes gently. Her face still beautiful since she didn't wore any makeup like the past Erica did since her natural look is beautiful. She only just added a lip gloss making her cute pink lips sparkly and tastes like strawberries.

"Lady Erica, is something wrong? Why are you crying?" Ellen said, afraid that she might be hurting somewhere.

"No it's fine. I just remembered something sad."

"Are your memories returning? Are those memories that you remembered sad?"

"No! Uh- yes! I mean, I just- it was a sad memory but I don't remember it! Yes! Uh- so where are we going?" Quickly changing the subject, Erica looked around to see an unfamiliar hallway.

"To the Magic training Hall."

They are now outside as Erica smelled the fresh scent of grass as she continued following Ellen to a smaller building. Guards then saw us and with Ellen's signal, they opened the double doors wide.

The room was huge and kinda looked like a gym but there were some human like robot things, weapons, and the game where you hit the button so hard until it reaches to the very top with numbers indicating how strong you are. There were no decorations like the house and there were seats near the entrance.

They both stopped after they went inside, Ellen looked at Erica and spoke, "This facility is used for training your strength, stamina and magic. You're a noble so it's natural for you to have one." She smiled as she lead Erica to the hit the button very hard game.

The door then opened wide as foot steps echoed into the facility, a handsome man then looked at Erica.

"I had forgotten that your brother, came to visit you today. Your parents told him about the incident, so he had to end his vacation with his friends to check if your okay. Young master is really kind." Ellen whispered to Erica.

'He somehow looks familiar, even I look familiar but I haven't even met someone that has Erica's beauty. And this is another world as well! But why are they familiar?' Erica thought. She then stared at the man approaching her.

The man was a head taller than her with a well built body, fiery red hair and tanned skin with the same deep violet eyes like hers. He's like an exact replica of 'father' except for his eyes, his eyes were not as sharp as her father's but softer and kinder looking like mother's.

"Are you okay?" He asked me hesitantly but Erica saw how worried he was by looking into his eyes. 'Was she that mean that even her brother is kinda scared of her?' Misha slightly smiled imagining this handsome man, crying like a baby because of her mean sister. She then nodded to her 'brother' and saw him sigh.

"Im glad to hear that your okay. But why are your eyes red? Did you cry? What happened?" He then asked her lots of questions.

"Im fine, there were just dust in my eyes earlier. No need to worry..." Erica says to reassure him. "Pardon me for being rude, but I haven't learned of your name yet. Care to tell me?" She said, tilting her head slightly.

"Ah right- you don't remember, I'm your big brother, Phoenix Mars Bon Teligent. I'm 15 years old, your 13, your birthday is on December 17 and mine is on December 5." Phoenix answered, looking at his magic watch he bend to her level and spoke.

"I'll be leaving first. I just came here to check up on you." Phoenix left as quickly as he came.

"Later, brother." I curtsy and sighed after I see him left.

'I can't believe that guy is 15 and already has a well built body like that of a guard.'

"I forgot to tell you. Tomorrow you'll need to start studying even harder on your lessons for your upcoming test for highschool. Shall we procceed?" She said, grinning while approaching a black war hammer. I then nodded and eyed the weapon on her hands.

'That looks heavy. How can a simple maid just carry it like it's nothing?'
