Chapter 1235
Always Been Yours
âI think we should wrap up the shoot for today, director, Nicholas said. âMy wife is tired and needs rest.
We can continue filming tomorrow.â He stated his intentions in a very blunt manner. Hearing that, the director hesitated.
Knowing what the director was hesitating about, Nicholas continued, âThe Sawyer Group will take full responsibility for the fees that come with renting the set for another day, including paying for the workers. The company will pay for it all.â
With that offer, the director realized that it would seem rather inhumane of him if he continued to reject Nicholasâ suggestion. Tessaâs condition was rather unique in the first place. That was understandable.
Even soâ¦.
âMr. Sawyer, I do not have the final say on this. Still, I will pass the suggestion on. I think they will understand Miss Reinhartâs difficulties. They will surely not blame this on her, so you can bring her back to rest now.â
âThank you.â
After giving a few polite thanks, Nicholas turned and returned to his family. When Tessa saw him enter the break room, she smiled and teasingly asked, âHow did the negotiations go?â
âWeâll be taking a break this afternoon. Filming will continue tomorrow.â
He then lifted her into his arms and strode out of the room. Upon seeing that, Gregory hurried after them, and Alice did so too.
As for the other crew members, they were sick with envy when they saw that.
This was especially true for several of the female crew members. âGoodness, Mr. Sawyer is just so hot,â one of them exclaimed with starry eyes and her hands clutching at her chest.
âYeah, particularly when he was negotiating with the director. He was so cool!â another said. âMr.
Sawyer has all the qualities of my ideal boyfriend. Heâs absolutely perfect.â
âI envy Miss Reinhart so much. Sheâs so lucky. and Mr. Sawyer dotes on her so much.â
âDid you realize that when we were filming, he didnât look away from her for a single second?â
Many of the women on set began to compare their boyfriends and husbands against Nicholas. The end results made them feel even more dejected than before.
âHow can there be such a huge gap between men?â one cried out. âThey are all men, so why is Mr.
Sawyer so outstanding? Compared to him, my husband canât even be considered a man.â
âMine is ugly and broke. Letâs not even talk about doting on me. After work, I still have to wait on him.â The more they chatted, the more jealous they were.
Finally, they concluded, âMiss Reinhart must have saved the entire galaxy in her last life. Thatâs why she gets someone as amazing as Mr. Sawyer.â
On the drive home, while Tessa was still rather tired, she still had some energy left in her.
She leaned her head against Nicholasâ shoulder and chuckled. âMy condition isnât as serious as you thought. I could have worked for a while longer.â
To her surprise, when she said that, his face. turned into a severe look. âI told you to never fool around with your health.â
He turned and shot an angry glare at her.
Even Gregory had a stern look on his face as he lectured, âYouâre being naughty, Mommy. You have to listen to Daddy and take care of yourself.â
She stuck her tongue out at the two guys in her life who looked extremely identical. âAll right,â she said.
âI wonât ignore my health in the future.â
She glanced at Gregory before wrapping her arms around Nicholasâ arm and pleaded, âDonât be angry.â
Nicholas was not truly angry in the first place. Hence, her simple plea was enough to make his face soften. He sighed and helplessly asked, âWhy are you working so hard for? Itâs not like I canât afford to clothe and feed you.â
Hearing the upset tone in his voice, she knew it was because he did not want her to exhaust herself. âI swear, this will be the last time Iâm going to work, she promised. âOnce this is over, Iâll stay. home and rest until I give birth.â
She gently tugged at his arm as she coyly pleaded once more with a sincere look in her eyes. After all, there was only a month or so left.
As Nicholas looked down at his pleading wife, his eyes darkened. âI recall a certain someone promising to stop working as well last time.â
Did she? She blinked at him, unable to recall such a moment.
