Chapter 1248
Always Been Yours
âSounds good. You donât have much to do at home anyway. You should help with Nicholasâ work at the company so he will have time for Tessa Still, she gave Kieran a worried look and reminded him, âYou hear that? Donât bother him with work stuff. If you have anything you donât know or canât solve, just go to your dad. Tessaâs baby is the focus of our family now.â
âI know. Leave the company to me and Dad. Nicholas can stay at home with Tessa.â Kieran nodded obediently.
Tessa was extremely touched by their conversations, especially when Tobias volunteered to come out of retirement to manage the company just so that Nicholas could take care of her. That was probably how a family looked like-caring for each other.
As a result, Nicholas worked from home in the following days. When he had time, he would go out for a stroll with her, holding her hands.
One morning, they heard a knock on the door after Nicholas woke up and found Andrew standing out there. He announced with much respect, âMaster Nicholas and Young Madam, the medical team has arrived and is waiting downstairs for you.â
âGot it. Tell them to wait for us, Nicholas replied and went back to helping Tessa with her clothes. She looked at the thoughtful man with her soft and smiling eyes. âIsnât hiring a medical team a little too much?â She knew he had hired the medical team just for her.
He looked into her eyes tenderly. âItâs never too much. I want you and our baby to be safe.â While saying that, he led her to the first floor.
The medical team stood up to greet them. âHello, President Sawyer and Young Madam.â
Nicholas nodded and addressed them with a somber tone, âI believe Doctor Sloan has told you about it. Your only priority here is to take care of Young Madam. I do not want any accidents before and during childbirth.â
âDonât worry. Professor Sloan has briefed us about it. We are always on call and will give our best for the safety of Young Madam and her baby.â The leader walked up and affirmed.
Satisfied, Nicholas requested that Andrew make the arrangements to accommodate the team.
In the following days, Tessa had to go throught an extra checkup daily for the medical team, where she would be accompanied by Nicholas and Gregory. The focus was still on fetal malposition.
One day after the checkup, Nicholas asked with concern, âIs the babyâs position corrected?â
âWe see some minor adjustments, but we still need to work on it,â the medical team concluded, much to the coupleâs disappointment, but they understood that the issue of correction could not be rushed.
The medical team left the room afterward. Nicholas noticed the worried look on Tessaâs face, so he held her hand and comforted her. âDonât worry. We still have time to work on this problem. Iâm sure this can be corrected before the babyâs due.â
She nodded gently. At that moment, Greg went up to them and said, âBaby sister, you need to listen to Mommy, Daddy, and the doctor. Make it easier for Mommy, okay?â
He touched her bulging abdomen through the fabric. Perhaps there was a connection between the siblings, for the baby suddenly started moving as though she was responding to Gregoryâs words. He was overjoyed to see that. âBaby sister, did you understand me?â
Within seconds, Tessa felt the baby kicking harder than the last time. He, too, felt the movements through his touch as well, and his grin widened. Subsequently, he showed off to Nicholas. âDaddy, baby sister knows my voice! She responded to me when I talked to her.â
At that, Nicholas felt upset and even a little envious of his son.
